This kinda sucks because I main both Mac and min min, so I don’t want either of them to lose

To be fair, the weaponry he's dealt with was a horse shoe on a string, not lasers, electrifying wrecking balls or combustible boomerangs. Not to mention the missiles, grenades, nunchucks, whips hammers, ancient poisonous tribal weaponry, the mini version of a mind controlling ki blast shooting super weapon etc that she could equip if they didn't just limit her to her default 3. Mac's faced a LOT of loons but it's... Relatively grounded looney lol.

@@yunariumlovania4470 Yeah that bugged me too. For a VS series known for how literal it takes all information presented to it, I found it very weird they pulled back on this specifically.
Min Min: "He's so much faster than me!"
Also Min Min: gets put at 70 mph while Mac's at 33.
But that's only when Min Min is in Rush Mode, which takes a long time to charge. At Min Min's base speed, she is about half as fast as Little Mac.
Mac is really around 186mph so she got that right
i mean its not like he massively downplayed little mac in his analysis
I think the whole point of Punch Out is that looking at raw statistics, Mac is the underdog in every way, yet wins anyway through raw grit and determination.
That is why it is always so surprising when the winner would be Little Mac in the fights he would be in, despite his obvious weakness as an underdog.
It was really wholesome how after the fight, Min-Min served Little Mac some Ramen and a ticket to Mario and Megaman's tournament. I have a feeling that these 2 will be great friends.

Would be too easy to be like "He's just a regular human who boxes, how boring", but no. Little Mac is an underdog who takes hits, dishes them back out, and nabs titles.

If Donkey Kong were set at that standard and Little Mac and STILL beat him, then yeah, he should have beat the living tar out of Min Min.

You really oversimplified the "Star Punch" mechanic. It's not as simple as "land three punches in a row without getting hit". If that were the case, there would be star punches every 20 seconds. You have to find the exact right moment to strike in order to get a star. Find a moment of vulnerability, or interrupt an attack at just the right time.
Given the stat gap, any punch mac would land would have to be star worthy by it's very nature
They probably just streamlined it for the animation.

i think little mac shouldve won. Stars are given when you attack in a specific opening or when you interrupt your opponents attack. Seeing how Min Min"s arms are disabled by punching them, that means that little mac could've just stayed back and gathered stars, and then make his way to punch the hell out of her. This guy also completely ignores the fact that little mac would just stay back and dodge since he is good at forming a strategy to be able to defeat min min. So what if she could kick or grab him, it doesnt mean that he can just punch her once really hard, instead of performing a combo. I think this guy has just underestimated little mac.
Min min has a gun. Just a straight up gun. What was mac meant to do? Who let my boy fight someone who has actual lethal weaponry?

Awesome fight. I would like to say though, the “concrete breaking” maybe shouldn’t have qualified, at least from what I saw. It is already highly cracked, and it is in a competitive fighting arena *with a safety trampoline beneath* so it could easily be considered practical effects.
I would have thought that Mac scaled to piston Honda, who is fast enough to run along side a bullet train, therefore react to Min Mins attacks, and assuming on the scaling, he can take on the likes of DK and Sandman, one was a champion, the other knocked the moon out of or orbit, and he is capable of taking down every fighter in punch out in 1 punch of you can meet the requirements, and with the likes of giga Mac, I would have thought Mac took this dub
Mac doesn't, in fact, scale To Honda in MOVEMENT speed. At least not OUTSIDE the Ring. He neither can Scale to Dokey Kong Country DK for to simple Facts:
1. The DK On punch out never shows a similar feat on Strength
2.by the Time DK appears on Punch out, he...still hadnt peformed said Moon feat.
Giga Mac also isn’t Canon because he doesn't appear anywhere on the Story and doesn't even have feats to speak of anyways.
Lastly the Conditions are a Gameplay Feature and Challenge. Nothing indicates that little Mac Canonically use them to One-shot his opponents in the story of the Game.

Yeah I’m curious to see how they’ll handle Olimar’s size, and if Pirahna Plant even has an official height set by Nintendo.

@@FredChuck64 doesn't Mario have a canon height? They could probably scale Piranha Plant's height off Mario.
Olimar is 0.75 inches tall, and pirhrana plant is as tall as Mario; 5 foot 1. Most pikmin bosses are around 1-2 feet tall. Sorry pikmin fans, but plant is too big.
Honesty, I do think Mac wins due to the DK fight alone. Hes got one hell of a punch and durability to beat DK.
Why does he say that Min Min can break the stone slab with one punch when in game she can't even do that without rush or knocking someone into it?
This was such a fun fight! Mac is a neat character in that he's the closest equivalent to a normal human in the Smash Ring. I'm kinda surprised he didn't power up using Giga Mac though.
Giga Mac's less of a power up then you'd think. While it certainly beefs up power, it provides no additional defense and makes you a sitting target. Mac's advantage in this matchup is his speed to close the gap, Giga Mac would get absolutely tossed...perhaps literally, which in turn powers up whatever Arm MinMin has on her left.
@@maxspecs Besides MinMin fights the likes of Master Mummy and Max Brass, Giga Mac wouldn't be much different, if anything just a disadvantage. Though to be fair i didnt take the actual power scaling aspect of the video seriously anyway. But it was still good fun

Little Mac and Min-Min were never going to get far in this tournament but they've delivered an extremely satisfying fight!

Cool analysis and animation i was so happy hearing about one of my favorite games ever: Punch- out for the Wii.
I expected little Mac to lose but damn he got a raw deal.
No giga mac, no speed scaling to Piston hondo because its not comparable, no ability to potentially one-shot anyone, no self and inbetween round healing, no power assumptions and no Donkey Kong scaling. Also pretty sure star-punches work differently in the nes and arcade versions of punch-out. He would probably still lose but damn they took most of his best potential feats away from him.
If they gave little mac the donkey kong scaling (durability as in tanking hits from donkey kong) and strength wise (hurting and knocking out donkey kong) then he would scale higher than minmin in almost all departments and just had to get up close to minmin and land a few blows and win. Little mac got no feats in this and lost because of it.
Didn’t Mac fight Aran Ryan who used a “weapon” and fought unconventionally, also didn’t he fight someone who kicked in another game or was it a different character.

I feel like Mac wasn't really done that well. Notably no Giga Mac and I feel like DK scaling could be possible as there has been many Mario cameos in the Punch-Out games (Characters in the crowd arcade, Mario Ref in Nes, and well, DK) there has also been Punch-Out references in Mario games (Luigi's Mansion 3 poster, and if I wanna be *THAT* guy, the Mario Movie restaurant) Call it my Punch-Out bias but I really thought Mac could've done it. But still, I feel like Mac was good on the personality side of things, the underdog that never gives up. Great job to everyone who worked on this and excited for the matches to come!

As for donkey Kong yeah that’s fair seeing as you literally fight him as a boss. Sure they wouldn’t count the moon punch with their rules but it could still provide better calculations for his strength using Donkey Kongs durability.

I have to strongly disagree especially when mac himself defeated Donkey Kong. Remember that DK punched out moon of orbit into earth surface, defeated Karate, Ninja, Sumo Kong, and Ghastly Kong. Do note that Dk himself can punch rapidly when fighting these enemies. So let us not forget that DK was not KO when was blasted to moon's orbit when show Mac strength to KO DK himself to be impressive.
MIN MIN in the other may need few seconds to recover whenever throwing physical attack and further they are, longer require to be ready to use again.
So strength, defense, reflex, goes to mac while MIN MIN gets range and weapons edge.
They explained in Mac’s analysis that Punch Out-canon DK isn’t the same as Mario-canon DK. That’s why Mac didn’t scale to the moon punch.
They mention Donkey Kong punching moon out of orbit is questionable for not displaying this feat with Mac. However, even if did DK use about half his strength during fight with Mac is still impressive compare what Min-Min had endured. Do note that Nintendo tend to be flexible about Mario and DK games when come to story telling such as current Dk kidnap Pauline several times despite being good guy, DK was kidnap by King KROOL despite DK should be able break free from cage, and so forth. Heck Mario is even in punch out game which he has history of various job careers (soldier in Vietnam, demolition, plumber, carpenter, and etc).
So Mac still should of won.

I am heavily disappointed at the blatant bias in favor of Min Min was here. The final trade was really breaking character for Mac. He is known for dodging attacks, why would he try to outpower a clearly powerful attack? Not to mention the feats that were discounted, misinformation, outright pulling the "Not Canon lol" card on both the DK fight AND Giga Mac, and even leaving feats out. This REEKS of bias like Death Battle.
If the DK feat was counted, Min Min would stand no chance. Mac would be a moon buster.
Ok explain how Giga-Mac, a Charather that only appears on a non-story mode by the use of a cheatcode and DK, whose Punch takes Moons into the Orbit but Somehow little mac can survive when he Gets greatly hurt by friggin Building-level punchs of Sandman , are Canon???😂😂😂

This animation is absolutely fire. As a martial enthusiast this is actually incredible. The segments add realism which makes this battle so much more amazing!
As a punchout enjoyer, this was such a fun episode to watch! Love the voices, the actors here clearly gave it their all, same to the animators and the music composition.
Mac still was able to hurt Donkey Kong and proven to display power relative to his opponents.

The most impressive feat mac actually did was being able to knock out bear hugger who was 440 pounds in a single hit that would require over a thousand pounds of force to achieve since he was only 107 pounds
Plus, he managed to stay in the ring despite being under-age for professional boxing and wearing a shirt in World Championship rings. Being allowed to be a participant in matches despite his very presence being an infraction even if he dressed properly for the occasion, which he never does, meaning his presence is two infractions, has to count for _something._

I will also say, Little Mac has fought the unpredictable from people who utilize magic to create more versions of themselves, to people who kick, to people who use a flail, to people who even grapple. He's fought people that are as fast as a bullet train and has fought people who can punch apart brick buildings and launch bulls up into the clouds.
I dunno, the analysis for this episode just felt lazy.
Not to mention the fact that they completely forgot about giga Mac. It's really weird because if they implemented giga Mac it wouldn't have even been close imo
You literally didn’t put attention to the analysis then, as it was literally specified that Min-Min also had to deal with tricky opponents one of those also teleports,also break concrete with a Single punch and Use actual potencially LETHAL weaponry and also have all kinds of gimmicks in their fighting styles.
It’s all layed out and perfectly understood. Min-Min simply had Little Mac out-classed here fair and square.
For me,I said It was Impressive enough how much of a Fight despite it that Humougous difference in Range and versatility.

@@Elitendo26 well I don't know about that one admitely but if all those skills still are things Link Canonically did then I aaid it’s still more valid. No to mention Giga Mac is literally Featless as he doesn't appear in the story. For all we know he os just a More strong but sluggish form of Little Mac that would actually just be more of a hidrance. There's nothing to scale Giga Mac to.

I'm not sure I agree with this outcome. Fighting and defeating opponents who are faster and stronger than Little Mac through strategy is his entire modus operandi. He even defeats boxers who do things that are otherwise cheating, such as Great Tiger teleporting or King Hippo using a manhole to cover himself.
This isn't to say he'd get far in the tournament or anything, but I still think he was cut short.
I got hit with a wave of nostalgia with that “where’s my water” reference, I liked both analyses. The fight felt very natural considering the people Mac has fought before. And the next time seems like it will be a joke fight because like how do you scale a piranha plant, or it will be like a pikmin boss. I enjoyed the episode

This fight was blatantly rigged, from the discounts to the conveniently left out feats, to the post fight reasoning for Min Min's win. Even ignoring a feat that was literally mentioned! It's like the creator was told to say that he wanted Min Min to win without saying it.
What’s the source for Min Min’s attacks being 14mph and 70mph in rush mode? I might just not be as familiar with ARMS, but I’m pretty sure they don’t have like definite stats like that unless you’re using pixel measurements
Quessing it probably by calcing how many punches they throw in the rush mode barrage attack
He probably calculated how many frames it takes for min min to throw a punch, and then translated it to how many punches she can hit per 1 second and then multiplied it to get the final number or something.
I just wanna take time to appreciate how much of a G Mac was. Man thought Min Min didn't speak English and still told her "May the best fighter win".
i don't disagree with the outcome i just personally think what you don't consider as feats for mac is kinda dumb you have to consider those as feats since they happened and you don't even need to consider donkey kong if you want he still fought and beat mr sand man who destroyed a building with his bare hands he also fought people that have both used weapons and kicks and just comparing great tiger's speed feat but not piston hondo's is lazy in my opinion if piston hundo can keep up with a bullet train and mac can stand toe to toe with him he should have a automatically better speed feat than 30 miles the thing is i don't disagree i feel like both have a good shot i do think mac can't really get in for a good punch but if he does i mean if you count the dk feats then he should destroy her in strength and endurance but if you don't use that then yeah min min probably wins. anyways this was a great battle i just think the research could have been done a bit better. keep up the great work guys
Am I the only one that has noticed that there has never been a bad versus animation that's boxing/wrestling themed?
We need a Rematch!!! Little Mac has taken on people with weird gimmicks from other fighters before with kicks and weapons. E.g Dragon Chan had kicks, Hit Quarlow had a staff and Aran Ryan used a flail against him. And Little Mac beat them all! How does this make any sense?
Aran Ryan also did clinches in his Super Punch Out fight, that may not have been very advanced grappling but he still understands the concept of it and how to defend it

If the lasers in arms are seen as actual beams of light then rip mac that would make min min faster and have a good win con to just spam her dragons
The lasers have predictable shots, and in game, if the laser is already projecting out of the mouth and you're not out of it's way, it's hitting you.
There's this little things called "Telegraphing"... the Dragon lasers are not instant, they need to charge up, which undermines the idea of them being as fast light.
Severely underrated channel, I just found it and I did NOT expect it to be so in depth, not only talking about both characters' stats and stories, but giving a whole animation for the fight, love it!
I'd like to argue that Little Mac specializes in any adversity where he's at a disadvantage, it's a huge part of who he is. Although every match up he plays in his games seems to have the advantage he always finds a way to prevail in the end. Reach might be an advantage for Min Min from a distance, but if Little Mac was up in her face, Min Min's arms would be too long to defend herself.
Mac would certainly be at his best up close but that isn't a lopsided advantage against a mixed martial fighter like Min-Min, seeing as Mac has little-to no experience dealing with kicks or grapples.
Though regrettably, it wouldn't even matter since he can't meaningfully damage Min-Min or survive any good hits from her.
ARMS characters can retract them to normal length whenever they want as long as they got the mask, which helps them control the ability. No loss of strength either, plus she's a martial artist, them legs can deflect lasers lol. Getting close wouldn't help

Yooo this was my first time watching this channel and I’ve gotta say. This was pretty awesome. I love the true analysis of the feats of the characters. Also the animation was awesome. It was like something genuinely out of a game and I loved that. Not to mention the music. I’m a guy that really loves music and it’s core concepts and I absolutely LOVED how Skye T. combined the Punch Out Wii Title Theme, Ramen Bowl and the classic Punch Out Theme. It really made this entire video incredible. I’ll definitely be sticking around after seeing this.

This was… a surprisingly fun match up (couldn’t even tell who was the winner)

Plus, he has beaten dudes who as they said, can punch bulls into space, and turned an entire brick building into a bunch of rubble and dust with only his FISTS, moreover, he's beaten Bald Bull who was revealed to be able to shrug off a hit from a bull like it was nothing, and Piston Hondo who is no doubt the fastest human alive in the Punch Out universe.
Honorable mentions go to Soda Popinski who was drinking experimental soda which made him so strong he could pull a truck with his teeth, and Bear Hugger who is 400+ pounds, proving that Mac can succeed at punching miles outside of his weight class.
Sorry for the lengthy comment, I'm a little mad at just how much they downplayed Mac's feats here

Man. I thought Mac would win his first fight even when I thought his first match was gonna be Wii-Fit. Well, great match either way. Also me and Mac were both surprised by the fact that Min Min spoke English. I love Mac's reaction. Can't wait for the next fight.

Congrats on 30k subs and 100 videos! You guys totally deserve more subs than you have, and this episode is one reason why. I would love to say this was one of my favorite episodes in recent history. But the last two sb episodes managed to usurp my number 1 favorite TWICE In a row. You guys have really been on a roll recently.

By taking the diameter of an American manhole by going outside and doing exactly that, he looks to also be about 6’6
I really loved this fight voice acting and animation and analysis overall 9/10 for me.I just wished that there was a better explanation on why the donkey kong fight doesn't count as a feat for Little Mac when it honestly could have been a Major advantage to Little Mac.

The charactisation for Mac and Min Min honestly felt really weird imo, especially Mac. I kind of get wanting to give him a more accurate accent but it feels so strange, and he sounds 10 years older than he should.
Also why does Mac care that Min Min isn't speaking English? Almost all of his opponents speak a different language, this is nothing new for him

While I disagree with the outcome I think this episode was extremely well done and as someone who mains the losing character I couldn't be happier to say that
Except the ramen time bit, completely took me out of the fight the first time I watched this, but 1 flaw in an otherwise perfect episode just makes me know I like the episode for it's own merits and not out of bias for my favorite vs show
It was absolutely rigged. He discounted Mac's feats, ignored feats, even one that he mentioned that contradicts why Min Min had apparently won. He even outright "conveniently" forgot that Mac is known for dodging. That final blow straight up doesn't make sense. Mac would have dodged it instead of swung at it.
I don't know about rigged.
This uses a different ruleset than traditional vs like death battle so a lot of mac's stuff like keeping up with Honda who kept up with a bullet train wouldn't hold up in this particular format.
I do however wish to see the math on minmin's stone slab feat as when the matchup was announced I(as well as other people) calced it and it should've placed minmin much lower.
I do agree that mac would simply dodge minmin's earlier attacks since in base she's slower and then he'd be able to repeatedly stun her by hitting her arms until she was down for the count(kinda like the Don flamenco trick)

That was some good sluggin'. Feels slow in the middle, but the spritework is great and I was kinda rooting for both by the end of the fight.

Also not sure if it's the best idea to do the matchup quite yet considering Pikmin 4 is on the horizon
Remember that they count stuff from gameplay too, and in Pikmin 2 Olimar can be crushed by boulders and still survive (confirming that the space suit is also very resistant)
And in the Pikmin shorts the white Pikmin being able to melt metal with their acid seems very helpfull too
Also ik Pikmin 1 Olimar was able to punch through boulders and break them but that was due to a glitch but it would be funny if they counted that lol

Little Mac wouldnt make it past round 2, but yall really didnt even want him to win. He scales to Donkey Kong. Take any feat you have of DK's strength and give it to Mac. Also Giga Mac is canon.
Also he would do much better fighting the arms than you would think. He has fought matches against profesional kickboxers, and people using arm like weapons. Meanwhile MinMin has 0 experience against a little guy who gets in close to beat the shit out of you

Expected outcome just from seeing the title, but I did remind myself Mac has fought some superhumans essentially lol. Not as much of a wash as expected.
Also funny "pasta powerhouse" line near the end there, as it turns out there was planned to be a pasta themed fighter in ARMS and she would move around on roller skates. Cool folks in the ARMS community that have made mods on the game have found that and other cool hidden facts in the game's files/code/etc. Whether or not she became MinMin or was a separate character entirely that could appear in a future game but maybe reworked to not have too similar an arms theme is unclear still though.
Doc Louis is and forever will be the best hype man, and you *CANNOT* change my mind. I love how he also makes comments DURING the second round. It shows how much he sees that in or out of the ring, Mac will always be his student, and will always support him. In fact, they share a father and son relationship in my opinion.
I mean, she has a blade, gun, and a huge wrecking ball...
All telegraphed, and Mac is known for his capability of dodging. And that's not everything that was left out either, wrong or discounted. This fight was blatantly rigged out of bias in favor of Min Min.

I thought of that but in pikmin there isnt that many differences between the capitans abilitles and since Olimar has more leading experience and also can hit harder, they probably just decide to put Olimar

@@casualgamer3900 well kind of, each game introduces different pikmin but at the ending of pikmin 1 we see tons of uniquely coloured onions so we know they would potentially have access to any pikmin. Plus during pikmin 3 deluxe olimar uses rocks and wings in the side stories so he did canonically meet them.

It is a bit tricky though closing the distance against Min Min
However, Mac has one key strength
Little Mac is the god at spotting weaknesses and exploiting them
Problem is there isnt much Weakness to really exploit. Min-Min is perfectly aware of said Weakness so from the start is not as easy to use it, then not only she has the Range advantage but unlike Mac she is able to manourver in the Air which gives her a plus in movility and lastly how even if Mac still can somehow pull it off, Min-Min still is a Martial Artist adept in her Kicks and the disability of her Arms only last a little while.

@@jesusmen6308 If he can dodge Piston Hondo, the fastest man alive, he can dodge some much slower weapons and air attacks, and I saw in another comment that they can only get new weapons after a round ends so she'll have to go with her normal arms to start with
