I'm not a Gold Wing fan but I do like comfortable seats, comfortable riding position, lots of legroom, good handling, plenty of torquey grunt, nice dash layout, clean lines, effortless performance and Hondas in general, wait a moment, maybe I am a Gold Wing fan.

The Honda Goldwing, whether bagger or tour, has always been the ultimate touring bike. Refined, reliable and most definitely comfortable. The price may seem somewhat high, but when you compare the wing to other brand full tourers, you know that your money has been well spent. Thanks for the review Andy, terrific as usual. Enjoy.

Another good first impression (well kind of) review. In my youth I wouldn't have been seen dead on a 'Wing but like you I've become a huge fan since getting mine just over two years ago. I agree with everything you said in the video. I'm slightly smaller than you at 5'6" and just over 10 stone but as you say the size and weight of the bike is no problem at all. I can't think of another bike that has been so well thought out when it comes to weight centralisation/distribution. When I got mine the standard version you have here was not being imported so I got the DCT Tour airbag model that you have (mine is the earlier 2018 model year in black). I would recommend anyone to go for the tour model as the panniers are a bit small but with the top box as well that is not really an issue IMO. As you probably know for 2021 the size of the topbox has been increased a bit. The one thing I wouldn't have gone for is the airbag but the non airbag DCT Tour wasn't imported here either (I think still not). I'd rather have the useful storage compartment where the airbag is on ours. Hopefully the day will never come when I test the airbag and change my mind. I'm still falling more and more in love with mine after two years. So much so I acquired a really nice 1976 first generation naked Goldwing GL1000 just recently. It is quite interesting riding both bikes back to back and comparing the two. I really appreciate the virtues of the bikes now. I just wish I had cottoned on them many years earlier.
