Biggest difference is the Golgwings engine will outlast the harley engine by 500%. Read about a guy who put 600k miles on a Goldwing without opening the engine case once. Many Harleys need a rebuild before 100k miles.
@@FLYANDRIDE15I'm ready to pull the trigger on a used 18 Wing or a 21 I know the 21 has bigger trunk space but is there any more benefits to the 21??? Obviously I can get an 18 cheaper right now Thank you
Sold my 2020 Road Glide Limited and bought this exact bike. No comparison. Rides way better, a lot more power, power windshield, 4 throttle modes, electronic preload, all LED lights stock, fog lights stock, forward and reverse walking modes, better stereo, auto/manual, auto locking bags, double wishbone front suspension. Added Helibars which moved bars up and more control. Highway pegs made a huge difference. Harley has a lot to learn from the touring / power perspective. Harley sounds better and touchscreen are Harleys only two advantages, but I'm used to the quieter ride now. I do like Harley, they just don't compare.
Yep the Helibars are about $700 and are pretty simple to install. Super adjustable. The seating position is different but I'm used to it now and love it. With the DCT my feet live on the highway pegs and rarely come down lol. In traffic it's great too, no 2-1-2-1-2-1-2-1-N problems lol. It's sooo much lighter and crazy agile. Thanks and have a good one! Thanks for being brave enough to do the review! My MC buddy's won't ride it because they know they'll buy one if the do lmao.
When I’m old like you I’ll probably want an automatic bike with reverse too lol. I like the Gold Wings too but as far as looks the 2020 Road Glide is a way nicer looking bike.
I have an identical Goldwing as this one. (Purchased April of 2021) My 3rd Goldwing. I’ve never owned any other brand, so can’t make a comparison. I’m real happy with my ‘21. It did take a little getting used to not manually shifting (even after an 11 year bikeless period) But now that I’ve adapted, I don’t miss the clutch at all. Slow speed maneuvers are a bit more challenging, with no clutch to feather. And the latest iteration of the Goldwing is a bit more toward a sport bike realm. I say, ride whatever makes you happy and let others do the same.
I rode Harley's for 31 years and I sold my Road Glide in 2020 and bought a new Goldwing DCT. I will never go back to a Harley Davidson again after riding my Goldwing for the last two and half years. It is an amazing machine and I cannot get enough it, it's quick, comfortable, handles like a sport bike and has all the luxuries of a touring bike. I can take off for a week or two on my bike and I do not get tired or sore after long rides like I did on my Harley's. Sense everybody and their brother owns a Street Glide or a Road Glide it makes my Goldwing a unique bike when I pull up to a sea of Road Glides and Street Glides. I am not knocking Harley's they are great bikes but there is no comparison to the Honda Goldwing.
Enjoyed hearing your first impressions. I bought a 2021 DCT Tour in March and have ridden about 7500 miles. This is my third GoldWing. I’ve had an ‘86 Aspencade, a 2013 F6B and now this one. This is easily the most powerful and best riding of the three. The DCT works fine, but if I had it to do over again, I would probably buy the standard version. I miss the clutch during slow speed maneuvers, although with practice, l’m sure this bike is perfectly capable doing tight turns. I’ve only ridden one Harley in my life and only briefly. Harley does make beautiful motorcycles and I totally understand the appeal. The GoldWing does everything I want from a motorcycle and at my age, (68), it may very well be my last bike. I plan to accessorize it and buy a trailer, so that my significant other and I can travel in comfort next summer. One thing that Honda got wrong on this bike in my humble opinion, is the seat. It’s not very comfortable for the long haul. After an hour or so, I find myself squirming. For a bike built for long distance touring in that price range, the seat should have been a major priority to ensure a comfortable experience. Anyway… I’m rambling. Thanks for your take on this pretty amazing motorcycle.
Congratulations on an amazing bike! You ame great points and I agree with you. I feel the same way about Harley-Davidson for alot if things(seat/suspension) the list is long. 😂
To adjust your seating position, you need to get HELIBARS for the Goldwing 👍 It'll make you sit to the back instead of the forward position you mentioned.
Spot on! Loud pipes are fun for short runs, my Road King sounds nice but if I'm doing real distance my Wing can't be beat and I love that sound... even after eight hours in the saddle!! Not so with the HD
What are you talking about? The Honda sounds so much better. The Harley sounds very agricultural like a tractor. That Honda is a 21 first century machine. You should trade up if they would take your bike bike in.
Sound preference is a matter of opinion and I much prefer the sound of my Harley. No trade in but I will consider for a future bike. Thanks for watching 🤙
Guessing you’ve never heard a tractor. If our tractors would’ve sounded as good as a Harley I’d stayed on the farm. Like a lady down town said she didn’t like the sound of my diesel pickup. I said it’s personal preference but sounds better then your Prius.
I have a DCT Goldwing and a Harley Road Glide and love both of themHarley is great for ripping round town and day trips and Goldwing is a great long distance as well as day runs.I changed the seat on the Wing and it made a big difference
Good review. I went from a 2019 CVO Street Glide to a 2021 Honda Goldwing DCT bagger. I love the power, comfort, and reliability of the Goldwing. Just needed to add an aftermarket seat and highway pegs.
@@detroitbloodrunsinme8194 Not sure why this is funny. Indian is outselling Harley-Davidson now with the same features as the Goldwing. Automatic windshield, liquid-cooled engine, Apple Carplay, better suspension, power, and performance. I ride with a group of guys, we all started on HD, but over the years, most have upgraded to Indian or Honda. Harley-Davidson looks good and fun to ride around town, but not the best bike for long-distance rides.
@@craiglamar8929 listen I can’t agree with anything you said. I would never imagine riding anything but a Harley. I rather not ride if I have to get an Indian or anything else not Harley. If you don’t feel the same way that’s okay ride on man ! But trust me the ones who do will get me.
Greetings again from northern Vermont. At 73, my present bike is a 2003 Honda Valkyrie standard 1500C f6. Always had Honda's (Goldwing) ,but love anything on 2 wheels. The gl1800 Goldwing is a beauty, however it has way to much plastic and baggage for my liking. I'm a gear head and have a 1966 corvette convertible 427. Drag raced in my earlier years for fun until having a big family. Unlike HD , there isn't much that can be done with the engine ,exhaust and customizing with the Honda. The Harley crowd are more fun ,adventurous and creative... Great videos!!
Great review of the Wng. Nice to hear honest perspective of a dedicated Harley rider. I love that you really pressed the wing hard on the throttle. thanks for this great review.
If it’s anything like my ‘22 Honda Rebel CMX 1100 DCT, then I am sure that the Goldwing is very strong, fast and reliable! The downside of Harleys is the reliability and maintenance. Everyone I know has had their Harley in the shop a lot for repairs! Honda’s are built to last for a lifetime, just do the scheduled maintenance. You were spot on about changing to an aftermarket exhaust on the Goldwing, and they make some that sound awesome! The Goldwing will be my next bike for sure, but for now I’m extremely pleased with my Honda Cruiser. Great review, thanks!
I made the change 2013...Bought an F6B...My 2011 Roadglide started collecting dust while I rode the F6B all over the country. .2018 I test rode the DCT...Been test riding it ever since.Smiling ear to ear.. Corbin seat sets you back two inches for a much more comfortable distance ride Going to see if I can ride it 300,000 miles. I'm almost seventy. The Wing will outlast me....
Fair assessment. Im a winger and love my wing. The things u observe are typical in a wing and u easily get used to the diff seating position. Bike is built from ground up for performance, comfort, reliability, safety, long range touring. That's why it sits that way. Im not a big fan of any stock seats...I toss em and get corbin custom seat to set me back and down and for longer seat comfort. I also add helibars for custom bar positioning to alleviate arm fatigue. I sold my SG as it was no measure to the wing for touring and performance. It was pretty tho.
I ride a BMW R1200RT, but have owned two Goldwing’s in the past number of years and a few Harley’s 😂. All motorcycle have their own characteristic, and if you can afford a few bikes that’s the spice of life. My friend Jim has this exact bike and he loves it. 👍
As a long time built American V-twin(Victory XC and HD) rider that recently moved to a gen6 Goldwing Tour(man. 6speed). I can say the Goldwing is a far better touring bike, especially 2up(my wife loves riding as the passenger on the Wing). As a V-Twin rider its takes time to get used to riding a Goldwing, its a completely different experience, but it all comes together once you load up and hit the road for trip, its okay for around town but that's not its purpose. Things like the exhaust, after years of touring listening to the howling exhaust of my Victory, the Wing's exhaust is a "God sent" on a tour, I'm never going to change it. The upright seating is the way we should be sitting on a motorcycle, especially over distance... but its something to get used and not realized until you get some miles on(I noticed John move in this direction with Mad Max, when he was all about having mid controls for touring). There's is so much more I could get into that makes a Goldwing the premier touring bike, but I 've babbled on enough. There is something I really miss about my V-Twins, its something no plastic-fantastic Honda will ever have and that's the coolness factor and rawness...When I rolled up on the Vic it had presence, the Wing is just another bike in the crowd, but that's okay with me right now.
I own a V-twin 2012 Victory CC with loud Vance & Hines pips (sound like a Harley LOL) and 2022 DCT Tour. to each his/her own I enjoy more quiet more now listening to my music or talking on the phone, or following navigation instructions thru the bike speakers while riding with full face helmet closed up. This Gold Wing is the holy grail of bikes for me. cant wait to hit sport mode after I get break in miles on her. So smooth not top heavy, easy cornering. elec windshield, WALKING FORWARD/REVERSE are you kidding me
I appreciate your honest review. As you stated it’s all about personal preference. I recently purchased a 2023 Goldwing Tour DCT and the best bike I’ve owned. I’ve always ridden Hondas or BMW and never owned a Harley. I’ve rented a Fat Boy and an ElectraGlide and definitely not my cup of tea. Again, personal preference and definitely different bikes when compared to Honda and BMW. All the Best & Ride Safe.
gold wing has always been the standard in reliable touring. they do everything right for its purpose. great bike. i’m not a DCT fan but i get it. all depends on your WHY in the purchase. good job bro 😎
My 09 Road King with a Screaming Eagle 110 isn't even close to the power of the new Wing. These bikes are two different worlds. Why not live in both? Just bought one and she is sitting in my garage next to my classic. Great review. Thanks.
I am sold on the new GW. Been riding a 2015 roadglide special. Dropped the rear exhaust valve at 67,000 and too many HD mechanics have told me that that's not bad. And it was well maintained. Not for my next 30,0000 dollars. Just waiting on the dealer to finish putting it together. Making my last 5,000 dollar donation to HD...... I am out.
I have had a 2011 HD Road Glide Custom, then a 2012 HD Road Glide CVO, then a 2014 HD Road King CVO.... then a 2016 SlimS... The only thing that I hated on those bikes was the excessive heat on my right leg. Then I switched to a BMW F 850 GSA for a long trip (four corners) that I had with friends. Great long-distance riding bike, but I hate the looks... so it has to go. As much as I like the looks and sound of the HD, my next bike is going to be one of those DCT Honda Gold Wings... So smooth and comfortable. And I would not change a thing. Love the stock exhaust note.
I’m glad I was pointed in your direction. After I bumped into that bike and talked to the owner last week I wanted to ride one. He liked my 2021 Road Glide Special but showed me things I didn’t know about like highway pegs you can get for that bike that upset me. If I knew about adjustable highway pegs and adjustable knee fairings I would have had a harder time ignoring that bike as a purchase option!
‘14 Ultra Classic with a Stage 4, Vance and Hines Monster Slip Ons, Jackpot headers and a host of other goodies and man, I have to say, I watched your vid and I am truly impressed with your take on it and the honesty. One of the best test rides and personal opinion vids that I have ever watched. Kudos! You have a new subscriber as of today!
The seating position IS forward and that was by engineering design. Forward and lower Center of Gravity = better handling overall...for almost all bikes. (Your mileage may vary?!) Ride a few more miles and you might discover that the front suspension has been separated from the steering!!!!! That was HUGE! My new 2021 GW DCT tour took about five minutes to make me a believer! Good Rides
Nice review buddy ! I haven’t tried the Goldwing but it is on my todo list. Knowing their track record of reliability (and the fact they are bulletproof) plus almost 50 years of production speaks for itself. Since I bought my pop up camper I’ve been thinking about getting a Goldwing next time. My Triumph Trophy can do the (towing) job but a couple of extra HP would definitely help a lot. I am thinking about getting a 2019 or 2020 with the automatic transmission in 2023 /24 to avoid paying the full price tag. (I love depreciated assets lol) Great job ! Cheers.
Consider the 2021 with the bigger trunk. In my opinion, it fits the bike better and you’ll really appreciate the added storage space. We have two modular helmets that easily fit in the new trunk and wouldn’t fit in previous models. The side bags are kinda tight on all models. We’ll get a trailer for any long tours.
@@seatime674; The ‘20 came with the fog lights as standard equipment, which is a nice addition. The ‘21 has that, as well as the pre-installed satellite radio antenna, which is a real pain to install if you had to do it yourself, apparently. And of course, the larger trunk. Honda apparently tweaked the DCT in ‘19 or ‘20 to make for smoother shifts and the ‘21, of course has that refinement as well. We did buy a utility trailer for ours, so had to install a hitch. It’s a pretty big job, but doable with a few tools and patience. If I can do it… well, you know the rest. We did a 5 week tour in ‘23, towing the trailer and the ‘21 DCT did great! It towed that 400 pound(loaded) trailer with ease. And even with the trailer it easily handled all the mountain passes. I think you’ll love it. So to sum up… if you’re towing a trailer anyway, you may not miss the larger trunk on the ‘21. And if you’re not interested in satellite radio, you wouldn’t need the antenna. The fog lights do make you more visible to other traffic, but those also come on the ‘20 model. So really, the only substantial improvement that the ‘21 has over the previous 2 model years is the trunk. The engine and transmission are the same. Hope this helps.
@@whatsupeh1 OK good to know thank u. I'm a manual 6 speed guy I like the motorcycle heritage if I wanted an automatic I'd buy a Kia Carnival with a roof and air conditioning, no offense 😉.. I just like the more balanced control better especially at lower speeds. Yeah if I'm going to pull the trigger on an '18 I should at least wait for the '21+ so I get everything, that's like buying a new Corvette with roll up Windows.. I think the '21 started the more relaxed angle seat for the passenger to and is more comfortable.. I do hear even the driver seat on the 18+ plus is really stiff and uncomfortable and people change them out which is not good... I really like the Ardant Red or Blue with the silver motor and and chrome pipes on the '18 though, the '21 and up has ugly black matte colors with a black motor and pipes and just doesn't look that good to me. Think Darth Vader... There's an '08 with 38k miles I might just go get in the meantime while I'm figuring all this new stuff out, ha... That's great with your trailer be safe in your travels👍
I know your just going to say ''Thx for watching'' but if you did have a conversation with answering people perhaps you could comment on what I have to say. The Harley Street Glide for example runs so hot Harley offers fans to cool the rear cylinder and heat shrouds so the rider will get burnt less not to mention the rear cylinder will shut off at certain temperatures. The new ST models have the air cleaner hitting the riders shin. The wind buffeting on the Street Glide can be so bad for some, people are selling the bike and Harley offers the fork fang wind deflectors for that problem too. The intake also sucks in oil and some kind of yellow gunk from the engine breathers. This can and will put carbon deposits on top of the pistons and after some 10 to 15 thousand miles, many will not pass a leak down test. Plus the shift rod on the touring models can pop apart leaving you stranded. Even some of the Hells Angels are switching to the Gold Wing and the BMW K1600 Bagger. People still buy the Harley just to boost their ego and show off and sometimes scare people with the Harley image that it has for 1% bikers.
Thanks for commenting and watching. To address your comments, I am not mechanically inclined so much of what you share I cannot speak to directly however, from research and talking with folks that do know, I don’t disagree with the points you are making around the drawbacks to engine on Harley etc. As to why people still buy one vs the other, all I can speak to is my own point of view and it has zero to do with ego and all to do with what I like and that’s what drives my choices. Thx again.
So, I'm going to look at the Harley Freewheeler and Goldwing dct trike. To me the Honda is 18k more BUT should last at a minimum twice as long I'd think. Gonna come down to the feel of each
Right on...Love your street glide--great bike! L ooks like you had some fun! It was cool to see your reaction. The DCT is cool, but I bought the 6-speed manual. Sport mode is fun too. Thanks buddy and keep up the good work! 😃👍
Never ridden the new wing. But after riding HD touring bikes don't know how I would like it. I know you can add floorboards and highway pegs. Making the transition from a sport bike it would be a good fit.
I just bought a second hand Honda VFR 1200 with DCT gearbox. Other bikers laughed at me. I'm delighted with this dual clutch gearbox and even more when you have 175hp. I loved your video. And I also love Harley Davidson. It's another concept but what it is about is to enjoy with the motorcycle that one has and according to the possibilities of each one. Greetings from south Spain.
Thanks for watching and commenting Arturo! Wow, South Spain, how cool! The mother land! I’m originally from Cuba. 🤙 Congratulations on your bikes and ride safe!
I traded a 2017 FLTRU with 49,000 miles on it for a 2021 Goldwing Tour DCT 4.5 months ago, and I already have 12,000 miles on this one. I can't stop riding it! I was most nervous about the seating position, and I'm 6'2"... But with highway pegs for options to stretch out once in a while and move around, I find the stock seating position to be more comfortable than I expected. Absolutely love this bike. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts! -Ride fast, Take chances! (My version of actors' "break a leg")
Thanks for the review! Well done. I just bought a new (2021) Goldwing - manual shift (and will pick it up this coming weekend). But I appreciate your take on the DCT. I was already for the DCT, but by luck a manual shift showed up at my favorite dealership and I really like shifting on my own. You can bet I'll be checking you out in the future. "Nuff Said!"
Great video mate. I've not long turned 60. Have been riding since 10 years old. Yes have had about 20 bikes now - from the monkey bikes (at that age) et al. Also won (when much younger of course) an around Australia comp. Have come from 2 x VF1000F2F's Bol D'Ors and 2 x Fireblades (awesome machines), Kawasakis, Yammy R1's and as I aged of couse a 2006 Harley Heritage Softail (which they weren't - just ask the wife hahah). Latest bike is a top of the line 2010 Goldwing (with Airbag and colour coded trailer). Bloody brilliant. Soooo smooth. Looking now at a DCT and your videa has just about convinced me to buy one. Thanks mate!
That’s your opinion on the sound. Some people don’t like all of that noise of a Harley. I’ve owned both and I love the sound of my 2021 Honda Gold Wing! Some people like hot rods, some people like the ride of luxury!
I grew up on goldwings, then spent five years and five harleys looking for one to keep (road kings and street glides), but I couldn't get them to fit me (5'6) where it felt as comfortable as the wings.
21 dct tour owner here,,,, having owned several harleys,,, you must factor in the dependability factor of the goldwing,,, the average wing goes 150k before needing a timing belt,, which is a three hour job,,, all brand dealerships suck,,, my wing keeps me out of the dealership and on the road
Hi. Please put some gloves on! This is probably the benchmark for two up touring right now. The lastest improvements address some of the niggles. Thanks.
You own a Great looking Harley! I really enjoyed the video… I have loved the Honda Goldwing since I was 9 years old! I am also a fan of some of the Harleys out there. Good luck on the channel; you are very personable and do a nice job on your videos. Keep going! Cheers & Peace! 😎
I enjoyed watching your video. The majority of the time I ride my DCT Goldwing in Econ mode because I prefer cruising. Like you said it comes down to personal preference.
i am thinking about getting the bagger version manual of that bike ? but i have a kawa 650 vulcan s i ve invested all the extras and i am the weingt of the goldwing also i am 60 yrs . and mine is paid for . but you know what they say . but i got to have what i can manage and i got it now .
That’s the version I would get if I were getting one as well. Vulcan is a great bike however, this is another level I think overall. Good luck and thx for watching. 🤙
I found your channel while looking for Gold Wing videos. I am looking at the manual not the automatic, but man this bike looks fun! I just hit my local dealer up to see how much and when it will be available (no stock near me). I just sold my Ducati 899 and this is going to be a dramatic change, but a welcome one at 46 years old. Great review and cheers from Massachusetts!
Welcome and thanks for watching! Wow, Ducati 899, awesome bike! As you can tell from the video, I loved the GW and I think it feels close to a sport bike for such a huge machine. Good luck on the search and come back and keep me posted if you do get one! 🤙
I'm wanting to get a Goldwing DCT TOUR ,because I had a very severe stroke five years ago and am now fully paralysed in my left arm, meaning that I cannot operate a clutch lever now. Ideally I'd love to get a trike, but think it's very likely to be out of my price range!! I am unable to walk now due to the brain injury I suffered, so really NEED the trike so that I don't fall over when I stop!!!
Great video. I currently have a 2008 Harley electra glide which I love but have been eyeing these for a while. I've never ridden a goldwing mainly because the older ones from my younger days had a severe case of the ugly. Square rear end and bulky front made them look like a school bus. If I got one I prefer the looks of them without the rear tour pack. I ride my electra glide almost daily and use my tour pack all the time though so I might sacrifice looks for convenience. I might just keep the electra glide and remove the tour pack for weekend bbq runs and use the wing for long distance tours.
Awesome! Welcome to the channel, I appreciate you joining! 2012 Goldwing, nice! I bet you’ve got some miles on it. Amazing bikes for sure. I too love all bikes 🤙 Thanks again!
Its a no brainer. If you want comfort and power you go with this. If you need to impress your friends and get attention while riding you go with Harley.
Great video! I have a few bikes and my favorite is usually the one i'm on that day. The Harley is very mechanical... gear clunks , heavy, hot and loud. but that's why i like it. G-wing, BMW K1600B are more refined and smoother . Life is Great... Enjoy !
I subscribed. I like the way you explain whatever topic you are talking about. I've always wanted a Gold Wing, but can't afford it. I have the Rebel 1100DCT and it is FAST. Thanks for your thoughts. I'll look forward to watching your offerings. peace
Well My opinion coming from the Harley world, Harley Davidson has to upgrade the suspension considering that they ask a 50 piece. Also I want to ask you do you think that your bike is worth 20k more than the goldwing? I’ve had every Harley made except for the livewire and none of them compare to the Bmw I have now. Not downing Harley I still have one but I don’t think I’ll be buying another one anytime soon. The wing has always been on the radar and I probably will eventually get one.(DCT) Nice review your’s is the first I’ve seen that someone has really twisted the throttle.
@@FLYANDRIDE15 I used to ride a 185 Suzuki year around. A great variety of bikes out there and I like a lot of different ones. Ride what you prefer but don’t knock what you don’t like. People sure like to knock Harley Davidson but they’ve been around a long time.
Man, first of all thank you very much for the shoutout! I really appreciate it. I've ridden the DCT once and they are pretty cool. Mine is the non DCT and it's really crazy fast! It's awesome to see your take on the bike. I had a white Street Glide myself back in 2014 so I dig your bike. Great review and I'll tell you if you decide to buy one they make highway pegs for your comfort!!! Great video man!
Thanks man, appreciate you giving it a watch! I really did like everything about it with the few exceptions I mentioned on the video but I am sure they sell fixes for that. Didn’t know you had an SG prior, cool man. Would definitely consider one as an additional bike but I need a heck of a lot more views and subscribers to rationalize another bike for the channel. 😂 Keep it up man, your channel is doing great!
I think you have to have a lot of work done on your HD or get the cvo to come near or out do the flat 6. I agree with the seating position, I would consider the new GL more of a sports tourer then a cruiser touring motorcycle. From the proportions I like the previous GL better.
Great review, I have a DCT love it I also have a HD Revival never rode it yet had it since May it was delivered the HD so it just sits in the garage keeping the other three bikes company.
Biggest difference is the Golgwings engine will outlast the harley engine by 500%. Read about a guy who put 600k miles on a Goldwing without opening the engine case once. Many Harleys need a rebuild before 100k miles.

I am not knocking Harley's they are great bikes but there is no comparison to the Honda Goldwing.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. 🤙💯
I've had both. One is refined and super comfortable. The other is raw and has soul you can't get from anything else.
Perfectly stated. 💯 Thc for watching 🤙
To adjust your seating position, you need to get HELIBARS for the Goldwing 👍
It'll make you sit to the back instead of the forward position you mentioned.
Awesome. Thanks for the info and appreciate you watching. 🤙
Harley rider "Gotta change the exhaust." Goldwing rider "The new Goldwings are kinda loud"
😂 That’s funny right there! 🤙
😂
changing the exhaust is sacrilegious.
@@viarnay 😂 Thanks for watching 🤙
@@FLYANDRIDE15 exactly, agree totally. I prefer the way my Ultra Limited sounds over the Gold Wing although I do like the sound of Gold Wing also.
Guessing you’ve never heard a tractor. If our tractors would’ve sounded as good as a Harley I’d stayed on the farm. Like a lady down town said she didn’t like the sound of my diesel pickup. I said it’s personal preference but sounds better then your Prius.
I don't agree with you, it sounds more like an old irrigation pump :D
@@sokodad haha good reply . I prefer the silence of my Goldwing and so do my neighbors . Life is full of choices for us all
The ‘Honda Goldwing is one of the best engineered motorcycles today. Super easy to get comfortable immediately on it.
One kg my favorite rides! 🤙
I have a DCT Goldwing and a Harley Road Glide and love both of themHarley is great for ripping round town and day trips and Goldwing is a great long distance as well as day runs.I changed the seat on the Wing and it made a big difference
Best of both worlds 👍
Good review. I went from a 2019 CVO Street Glide to a 2021 Honda Goldwing DCT bagger. I love the power, comfort, and reliability of the Goldwing. Just needed to add an aftermarket seat and highway pegs.
It’s a great bike! Thx for watching and sharing your thoughts 🤙
Dude I don’t believe it. I can’t imagine a cvo owner going to a goldwing! If you actually did all I can do is laugh. Enough said
@@detroitbloodrunsinme8194 I never switched from CVO but this is a great bike. Thx for watching
Both bikes are winners , but they travel a different vibe ! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I agree!!
tool seems like such perfect word to describe him ;
👍
Thanks so much. Appreciate it 🤙
I’ve been on Harley Ultras since 1990 (4), and I rode the 21 DCT Tour at Americade last fall, and it’s the best touring bike I’ve ever ridden.
🤙
Great review of the Wng. Nice to hear honest perspective of a dedicated Harley rider. I love that you really pressed the wing hard on the throttle. thanks for this great review.
Thank you, appreciate you watching and commenting 🤙
Thank you 🤙
I made the change 2013...Bought an F6B...My 2011 Roadglide started collecting dust while I rode the F6B all over the country. .2018 I test rode the DCT...Been test riding it ever since.Smiling ear to ear.. Corbin seat sets you back two inches for a much more comfortable distance ride Going to see if I can ride it 300,000 miles. I'm almost seventy. The Wing will outlast me....
💯🤙
Fair assessment. Im a winger and love my wing. The things u observe are typical in a wing and u easily get used to the diff seating position. Bike is built from ground up for performance, comfort, reliability, safety, long range touring. That's why it sits that way. Im not a big fan of any stock seats...I toss em and get corbin custom seat to set me back and down and for longer seat comfort. I also add helibars for custom bar positioning to alleviate arm fatigue. I sold my SG as it was no measure to the wing for touring and performance. It was pretty tho.
Thank you, I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts! It’s an amazing bike and I see one in the near future!
In my opinion only, your not meant to own a Goldwing. Perhaps if you're older. Stick to the HD. Best regards from Florida.
Thx for watching 🤙
I ride a BMW R1200RT, but have owned two Goldwing’s in the past number of years and a few Harley’s 😂. All motorcycle have their own characteristic, and if you can afford a few bikes that’s the spice of life. My friend Jim has this exact bike and he loves it. 👍
Thanks, appreciate you watching.
Excellent perspective, thanks for sharing
I own a V-twin 2012 Victory CC with loud Vance & Hines pips (sound like a Harley LOL) and 2022 DCT Tour. to each his/her own I enjoy more quiet more now listening to my music or talking on the phone, or following navigation instructions thru the bike speakers while riding with full face helmet closed up. This Gold Wing is the holy grail of bikes for me. cant wait to hit sport mode after I get break in miles on her. So smooth not top heavy, easy cornering. elec windshield, WALKING FORWARD/REVERSE are you kidding me
Congrats! It’s an amazing machine 🤙
I’ve got the DCT Tour and it kicks ass. Love it!
🤙💯
Good video! Good explanation about the dct overall functions and usage. Thanks!
Thank you!
Traded my 22" Street Glide Special for a 22" Gold Wing !!! Never looking back... Great review brother !!
Thx bro. Congrats. Great bike!
Congrats on the new purchase, it’s amazing machine!
Your machine and the Gold wing are like night and day .
I agree!!
I've been checking out all the test ride vids for this bike...... crazy watching you riding on roads I've been on a million times.
Jersey riding! 🤙💯 Thanks for watching.
gold wing has always been the standard in reliable touring. they do everything right for its purpose. great bike. i’m not a DCT fan but i get it. all depends on your WHY in the purchase. good job bro 😎
Thanks ABUSA, I’m not a DCT fan either but boy was this an enjoyable ride. 😆 Thx for watching 🤙
The bike definitely comes alive in sport mode.
For sure 🤙
My 09 Road King with a Screaming Eagle 110 isn't even close to the power of the new Wing. These bikes are two different worlds. Why not live in both? Just bought one and she is sitting in my garage next to my classic. Great review. Thanks.
I agree! Congrats on the purchase 🤙
What an amazing bike, I didn't expect that; great wow effect! And maybe a little bit more user-friendly sound for really long journeys.
It was a great bike. Thx for watching 🤙
I am out.
Congrats, that’s an awesome bike! Thanks for watching. 🤙
Thanks for commenting, These bikes are amazing and I see one in my future for sure. 🤙
I hear you. It was an awesome bike with the small exceptions I pointed out. Thanks for watching. 🤙
Nice to see a Harley guy saying nice things about a Goldwing ;)
It’s a great bike! 🤙
Wow, thank you so much, really appreciate the feedback. Welcome to the channel🤙 Congrats on the Ultra classic, that is sweet! 🤙
The seating position IS forward and that was by engineering design. Forward and lower Center of Gravity = better handling overall...for almost all bikes. (Your mileage may vary?!)
Ride a few more miles and you might discover that the front suspension has been separated from the steering!!!!! That was HUGE!
My new 2021 GW DCT tour took about five minutes to make me a believer! Good Rides
Amazing bike! Enjoy!
how did i miss this video ! gold wing sure seems awesome 😎
This is my best performing video abusa. Not sure 😄
This is not a review, this is motorcycle ride period!
That is correct, that’s why the title and description provide accurate details on what it is. Test ride and impressions, thanks for watching.
Cheers.
Thanks for watching and I’ve seen your sweet setup! 🤙 I agree thought, more HP and at a discount, I’m in! 😂
@@whatsupeh1I'm looking for a used one to what other benefits are on the 21 versus the 18
@@seatime674; The ‘20 came with the fog lights as standard equipment, which is a nice addition.
Gonna come down to the feel of each
Good luck, thx for watching 🤙
Right on...Love your street glide--great bike! L ooks like you had some fun! It was cool to see your reaction. The DCT is cool, but I bought the 6-speed manual. Sport mode is fun too. Thanks buddy and keep up the good work! 😃👍

Never ridden the new wing. But after riding HD touring bikes don't know how I would like it. I know you can add floorboards and highway pegs. Making the transition from a sport bike it would be a good fit.
It does feel like a sport bike for sure. It’s an awesome bike.
Gold Wing seems to be more powerful & Smooth, and much more beautiful in shape as well, no way to compare.
Definitely more powerful. The more beautiful part is definitely more subjective 😄 Thx for watching 🤙

I was most nervous about the seating position, and I'm 6'2"... But with highway pegs for options to stretch out once in a while and move around, I find the stock seating position to be more comfortable than I expected. Absolutely love this bike. Thanks for the review! Well done. I just bought a new (2021) Goldwing - manual shift (and will pick it up this coming weekend). But I appreciate your take on the DCT. That’s your opinion on the sound. Some people don’t like all of that noise of a Harley. I’ve owned both and I love the sound of my 2021 Honda Gold Wing! Some people like hot rods, some people like the ride of luxury!

Wishing you all the best
Great video. I currently have a 2008 Harley electra glide which I love but have been eyeing these for a while. I've never ridden a goldwing mainly because the older ones from my younger days had a severe case of the ugly. Square rear end and bulky front made them look like a school bus. If I got one I prefer the looks of them without the rear tour pack. I ride my electra glide almost daily and use my tour pack all the time though so I might sacrifice looks for convenience. I might just keep the electra glide and remove the tour pack for weekend bbq runs and use the wing for long distance tours.
Electra Glide is a great bike!🤙 Thanks for watching and commenting
Can’t wait to test ride this bad boy

Its a no brainer. If you want comfort and power you go with this. If you need to impress your friends and get attention while riding you go with Harley.

Great video! I have a few bikes and my favorite is usually the one i'm on that day. The Harley is very mechanical... gear clunks , heavy, hot and loud. but that's why i like it. G-wing, BMW K1600B are more refined and smoother . Life is Great... Enjoy !

Thanks for watching and commenting. BMW is a beautiful bike and in a league of its own 🤙
What's the best bike to own that is not a magnet for police ticketing.
Good question. 🤙
@@FLYANDRIDE15 I used to ride a 185 Suzuki year around. Whether I was on the road or off road, every cop that was napping or trying to get some shuteye on their night shift where there was no traffic. I even had a cop try to follow me less than 10 feet from my rear end who practically pushed me through an amber light so he could issue his city revenue citation. The worst is being searched with a full pat down and a dog sniffing illegal search. Cops always have an imaginary probably cause they make up and use to do their illegal searches and seizures. Oh let's all respect these immoral, illegal, unethical and bullying tactics.
Take that Wing up in the mountains and you'll see why we love our bikes. Best handling big bike out there.
Oh, I can see why you love them. I loved it l! 🤙
Traded in my 2017 Road Glide for the same bike that your riding. Gotta say, not sorry.
Awesome! And not surprised 😂 Thanks for watching and congratulations on the bike
A really cool video and it's on my wish list to test ride a GW. Great ride along, thanks for sharing. Eric
Thx Eric, appreciate you watching! 👍
A great variety of bikes out there and I like a lot of different ones. Ride what you prefer but don’t knock what you don’t like. People sure like to knock Harley Davidson but they’ve been around a long time.
I agree. Thx for watching
Sadly even the aftermarket exhaust doesn't do much for sound..only two I have seen or heard are the Remus and two brothers.
I agree. Remus is likely best option and to your point, doesn’t really do much. Thx for watching.
Isnt a dct automatic basically a big scooter?
😂 Basically but a very fast and capable scooter at that 🤙
Loved watching u review my dream bike. U r a good driver man. I hope I. An ride as well as u do one day. Thanks bro! U Def get a thumbs up from me.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it! This was an awesome bike. 🤙
@@FLYANDRIDE15 you keep it up too! Very good channel and a great honest review!
I have run in 2 u again 👍🏿👍🏿
Love from Mississippi USA 🇺🇸
@@DavidSmith-fw6uj thanks David! Take care Bud.
@@DavidSmith-fw6uj Thank you! 🤙
Great video and thanks!!
@@marvridley2509 thank you.
I think you have to have a lot of work done on your HD or get the cvo to come near or out do the flat 6. I agree with the seating position, I would consider the new GL more of a sports tourer then a cruiser touring motorcycle. From the proportions I like the previous GL better.
Thanks for watching and commenting 🤙
Great review, I have a DCT love it I also have a HD Revival never rode it yet had it since May it was delivered the HD so it just sits in the garage keeping the other three bikes company.
Thank you! Wow, congratulations on both bikes, those are amazing machines! Enjoy!
That’s actually sad for the bike
R u ready to trade in your Harley now? It's so much better technology and quality than any Harley was ever built.
