Hi madam thanknyou for uploading this vedio im interested to learn more so could you please post or upload vedio in you tube the entire lesson so i could follow it up thank you for kind xonsideration to this request
Bless you for offering this for free. I'm trying to self study (I have an old keyboard) and I've been desperate to find a helpful course that isn't locked behind subscriptions I can't afford.
that's true - this is a very good first lesson - everything is super clear and slow enough to follow. hope you are getting much better - I know you can do it :)
Hi, I'm 65 years old and finally decided to buy my very first piano. I have never played piano in my life and since I'm a senior and retired, I realized I have allot of time and getting bored. Since its a New Year, I thought it's a good time for a new year resolution and start something new. I'm a good music listener and always thought I wish I could play musical instrument. I've asked some people from music stores, and they said the best way to learn is to search in TH-cam. Finally, I saw you and I decided I should subscribe and follow your awesome easy to learn piano instructions.
Good luck! You might also try to an adult piano method book, like Faber or Alfred. They go through all the foundational material and make it easier to go in whatever direction you want with the piano. The Faber book (www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/product/adult-piano-adventures-all-in-one-piano-course-book-1-4921824.html?aff_id=753781) is my favorite, but the Alfred (www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/product/alfred-s-basic-adult-all-in-one-course-book-1-3658941.html?aff_id=753781) is good too. Those are affiliate links, just FYI.

omg...i was having a hard time finding some one to teach me on youtube...and i watch video after video all over the internet and i was loosing faith because no one was able to teach me where my hands go and detail instructions for a super beginner like me until God guided me to your video. Finally my prayers were answered after wstching your lesson 1 from this video. And let me tell you: wooooooow i am impressed and now i understand how to name and place my hand and sitting position and what goes with what. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your video. I will continue learning with you. You are the BEST piano maestro in the world. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. 😊❤
Thank you so much for your time. I have a piano at home for the longest time (brand new), bought it for my daughter so she could learn to play it when she was 12 years old and who is now a doctor. The piano has not had any use, so I have decided to teach myself to play piano and came across your videos. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH!!! 🙏🏻🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🙏🏻
Im going to start myself as well as my 8 year old your lessons. We got our piano this past weekend and I’m praying your videos are what is needed. So far by watching, it’s the best lesson I have watched out of ALL the videos I’ve tried. TY

I jumped right into learning songs without learning the basics prior, so maybe now's a good time to actually learn. 😅 Thank you for teaching people for free, lessons like these keep me from losing my mind.

Thanks a lot Susan for devising well crafted lessons and posting them. I came across this by chance and have made a new year resolution today (1/1/2024) to follow it through to be able to play by the end of the year. Have recently bought myself a second hand electronic piano (Roland ep7) and giving it a go from today. Wish me luck to stay disciplined and practice regularly! And I wish you a healthy, happy and musically joyous new year!!

Not really looking to be a pianist, but it's useful as a music producer to learn an instrument properly, music theory is not the only part of melodic dubstep
I used to play by ear. There wasn't much that I couldn't play by listening and after playing the song for a few hours I could ensemble a masterpiece. I recently had a heat stroke and I can no longer play. I try and my head literally hurts trying and it's the most horrible thing
Thank you for this! Have been thinking of playing piano my whole life and now i finally bought my first piano at 20years old. Will see you in the next lesson!
you explained this first lesson and especially the two vs. three black keys and higher lower on piano really well. this is definitely a good resource for my students - I have so often trouble with high and low - so this is perfect. Thanks so much
I’m playing piano since 83 I’m 41 years old going to be 42 and I wanna get back out there and play the piano because I love it. I truly truly love it. It’s my medicine. 1:59
Thanks so much for your calm and knowledgeable way of teaching us new beginners. It seems like most of us are in our sixties. I'm 66yrs and am so keen to learn to play piano for worship songs. If you have some easy ones to share. It would be much appreciated. I'm grateful for this video. Hope and Pray 🙏 for more knowledge to share for us beginner's. Blessings to all but mostly for you, the music teacher. God bless
Trying to teach myself for months now and this is just what I have been looking for! Thank you so much for your videos. Your voice is so soothing that you can double videos as ASMR videos as well! ❤
Ok, best beginner lesson, yet! I've been through a few, and so many DO NOT start at the REAL beginning. Given a piano in my 60's. No music lessons ever, but a fan of music, of course! Now 68, retired, and thought I'd give it a whirl. Thank you for giving starting positions for hands, legs, and seat, even! My old brain could not quickly memorize all the letter sequence for happy birthday 🥳, or Mary had a little lamb🐑. So I will write them down for myself and practice til im blue in the face. 😨😅 Learning notes may be really really hard for me, but I will persevere. ❤
Also starting this late in life so a little slow, but this is the best beginner's lesson I've found since my search 1 week ago. Hope to learn much more.
Thank you so much for your time and effort in sharing your wonderful talent to the world for free!♥️ I just learned to play the never ending Happy Birthday song using the right hands and fingers. It was difficult for me at the the beginning but after I just followed your instructions and literally pausing your video when I need to and it did helped me a lot. I know it will take a long time before I can play a Christian song but I will keep practicing using your piano lessons for beginners!🙏🏻 Thank you so very much! More power to your channel!
Thoroughly enjoyed this , I play tab easily enough for beginner songs but putting two hands together I didn’t know what I was doing , back to basics here and used two hands how they are supposed to be so I,m pleased that I’m getting it , definitely will follow your videos , so thank you. 🙏
Great video! I'm 52 and been tossing around the idea of getting a keyboard and checked out a course that looks like a scam - needless to say I turned away. Yours, on the other hand, is a great course and I look forward to many lessons in the future. Thanks!
Thank you so much for introducing piano roadmap to me. I am almost 70yo, but have taken this challenge to learn. I am now onto lesson 5😅. You make lesson time enjoyable, no pressure with clear instructions. Thanks heaps. Bless you.
WAO! I am impressed!... You seem to be ADULT enough (not pink or orange hair) and by the way you speak, experienced enough to teach piano. You took the time to explain everything a beginner should know. (I was a brand new beginner about 3 months ago, now I know a lot more stuff but still CAN'T Play nothing of substance) . You give HOMEWORK! Ta-ra-ra-raaaaaaaaaaa.... yes very important. Among the MILLION online courses I've seen, I will give yours a TRY for one month and If I am still impressed I will support you via Patron, don't doubt it. In fact I WANT TO PAY SOMETHING TO SOMEBODY, I just have not found that person yet, incredible as that may seem.
I ran through so many apps, and you made simple for me to learn I'm older now and. My mother played and she always wanted us to learn. She's no longer with us and I'm doing it for us
Thank you Susan! I found the way you teach about the finger ascending and descending for the key notes practice is a ring to my head. I have been thinking how people know which finger to which key in different songs.
I'm a great teacher. She's wonderful. I could learn a little bi'm older, but I guess you're lying or wow? She has so patien. Thank you, thank you, teacher.❤
Thank you Susan...I am a trumpeter found your courses very interesting....I always want to learn to learn Piano as a beginner...very good and thank you keep up the good work..
Thank you! BTW, my partner is just picking up the trumpet. He's been renting one, but is thinking of buying a used one. Any brands that you'd recommend for a solid, yet non-professional trumpet?
Practicing your 2 exercises: 07:46 (new piece) Happy New Year 2023: GGAG(C)B; GGAG(DC); GG(GECC)BA; (FFECDC)🎆 13:16 (warm-up) Mary had 3-2-1: EDCDEEE DDD EEE; EDCDEEEE DD EDC 🐑
I have always loved the sound of piano and string instruments... but playing has been my challenge.. so this new year, I got a keyboard, and I hope I am able to play and enjoy it before the year runs out... your very good at teaching...❤❤❤ much love from Nigeria. I'll take all the lessons on this playlist seriously this week and update you on my progress. Thank you so much for this significant effort.
Hi, I was looking over the comments. Most people are very happy with your teaching on how to play the piano. I wanted to tell you Thank you as well. I am new at this as well. I have never played before. I did try to order the Fable Adult Piano book but the sight did not let me. Where do I find the Method book? Thank you for all you do for everyone.
Hello, and thanks for your comment! Try ordering the Faber Book 1 here and let me know if it still isn't working for you: www.sheetmusicplus.com/en/product/adult-piano-adventures-all-in-one-piano-course-book-1-4921824.html?aff_id=753781
A new subscriber. I was gifted a digital keyboard for Christmas 2023 so decided to start learning to play. I have subscribed to an app called Simply Piano but am finding it a bit difficult so decided to subscribe to your channel as this may give me some more hints and tips to learn alongside the app. I plan on starting my lessons with you tomorrow (28 Jan 2024). Thanks for posting these free lessons.
Hi Susan, I am tottaly impressed with the way you teach. I have only watched one video and learned a lot. How could I support this channel? Also, do you give one on one online lessons?
Thank you so much! If you would like to support this channel, you can become a Piano Roadmap member (www.PianoRoadmap.com). Currently, I have a piano course that follows the Faber Book 1 for members, but will add more videos eventually. Or, you can support me on Patreon (www.patreon.com/pianoroadmap). There are no extra perks there, so it's simply a "tipping" service. And of course, you can support by subscribing, liking, and sharing (if you haven't already)! Also, no, I do not offer private lessons at this time. Again, thank you!
Brilliant lesson! Love the atmosphere and your way of teaching! Thank you❤ Also can’t help but notice how beautiful you are and your lighting as well as a video quality is incredible
Just found out your channel you have 5k subs yet almost 200k video views, it definitely shows you are sharing a some great teaching lessons! I wanted to know if this series is complete? Anyways I hope you'll become as big as other top music channels one day❤️🤗
Thanks so much for sharing this! You taught me such great fundamentals AND how to play my first song on piano!!! Lol I've been telling everyone that I now know how to play happy birthday on the piano 😎
I assume on the third line of the lyrics you sing "Happy birthday Happy birthday. In my area we always said "Happy birthday dear Mary or John (Jah-ahn) or Alexandria. When I heard the double notes, it caught me by surprise. lol First time I've ever heard it that way. I like it as it sneaks in 1/8 note coordination before the formal concept.
Just started last night and can play both songs in lesson one! I've always wanted to learn and you've made it possible with the pressure of in person lessons. Thanks a million ❤
This is right up my alley thank you. I can read it now, it's better than the finger position, I don't know how to stop the video so I can see the whole letters. I'll go find a music sheet for Happy birthday. you've been great. I'll come back for additional learning
You can download the materials/music here (you have to click "Show more" on the description for it to be shown): drive.google.com/file/d/1hvibMPma5wU1NVzOGdXdVULtMaZKcyfb/view?usp=sharing

Thank you for your kind comment! Teaching styles vary, and I hope mine suits what you've been looking for.
Thank you so much, I’m 14 and used to play piano all the time but stopped, this is really refreshing my memory and helped me remember how to play!
Love your approach to teaching ….very user friendly and easy to follow and understand….thank you
You're very welcome! Thanks for your kind words.
I ran through so many apps, and you made simple for me to learn I'm older now and. My mother played and she always wanted us to learn. She's no longer with us and I'm doing it for us
A wonderful tribute ❤️
Fantastic lesson, my first one ever at the age of 60, you made it enjoyable
When I was 4 to 18 to 19 to 20 to 21 to 22 years old I touched the black and white lower , louder and higher piano key notes
Thank you Susan! I found the way you teach about the finger ascending and descending for the key notes practice is a ring to my head. I have been thinking how people know which finger to which key in different songs.
Doctor Susan: You are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!
ikr
Your technique is simply the best..i have tried others but it didnt work for me a 74 yrs old grannny..thank you so much..❤❤❤

Amanda, thanks for subscribing! Hopefully, these lessons will help you. They might work well with Simply Piano!

Hi Susan,
I am tottaly impressed with the way you teach.

I assume on the third line of the lyrics you sing "Happy birthday
Happy birthday. In my area we always said "Happy birthday dear Mary or John (Jah-ahn) or Alexandria. When I heard the double notes, it caught me by surprise. lol First time I've ever heard it that way. I like it as it sneaks in 1/8 note coordination before the formal concept.
I love the way how you teaching. Make me feel good
yes she has a nice tempo very calming
Just started last night and can play both songs in lesson one! I've always wanted to learn and you've made it possible with the pressure of in person lessons. Thanks a million ❤
