    Finally, a review that actually focuses on what this car is meant to be. Not just complaining about "cheap plastics" and the "obvious negatives" when compared to a $30,000 car...

      @@BTin416 Couldnt agree more! My 2014 CVT saves me 50% off what I used to pay in fuel costs. Simple reliable car. Hell even the CVT7 is reliable considering it only has to deal with half the horsepower its rated for. Mechanics love working on this car even if they rarely have too. Its a secret gem of a ride.

    Awesome review. Nice to see a straight-to-the-point review that doesn't trash the car for being something it's not.

    I bought a 2014 DE with a 5 speed when my last car was on its last legs. Dropped it on Tein springs and added an Ultra Racing front strut bar, and swapped in some Civic VX wheels with decent rubbers, and now it actually handles quite well. Still needs a rear sway bar, but that's the next step. I've also done some aero work with a front air dam, side skirts, and a rear diffuser, and now it's VERY stable at freeway speeds and gets 60+ MPG at a steady cruise at 55 MPH.

    • @buildmorefarms1007

      The 5 speed is fun!

    • @dan43213

      Yet it's still just 72 HP

    • @michaeldillon1027
      @michaeldillon1027 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no way this car is getting 60+ MPG. Whoever claims that doesn't know how to correctly figure it.

    • @CaniLupine
      @CaniLupine 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaeldillon1027 Again, that was a steady highway cruise at 55, not averages. I don't have that same car anymore, but I got a 2014 Mirage ES 5 speed. I still get 40-43 MPG in the mountains with spirited driving.

    The 2015 model has better noise insulation in wheel arches and stiffer suspension. And by the way, 6.6 l/100 km? How did you do that? I never go below 5.0, mostly 4.5 l/100km and I have the same car with CVT. Just keep it under 2000 rpm and go with the flow.

    • @SpadesHeart
      @SpadesHeart 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it was carrying close to probably 1000 pounds of cargo and people. That has a fair effect actually. I have one too, and I average around 4.5-5.5.

    From what I read lately online reviewers tend to describe the Mitsu's handling as improved though still not top notch. I refer to the '19 versions of the Mirage.♐

    I am not sure but maybe nissan versa is a the better choice with same price

    • @SpadesHeart
      @SpadesHeart 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Depends on priorities. The Mirages' gas mileage is in a whole different class; almost 25% better. The warranty is leaps and bounds ahead of the versa as well. Not to mention, the mirage I'm quite sure is surprisingly bigger on the inside. The place where the Versa is better is the drive. It is a more powerful engine with a better weight to power ratio. However, if you are looking at the least expensive options on the market, should that be your priority?

    College car should be a bike. Why have the added cost of a car? IF you must.. get a $2000 car. Payments are not something attractive while in school, and when you afford something better.. then get it at that point.

      Many US cities make it impossible to travel around town on a bike. As much as I'd like to ride a bike to place, they've made it difficult for the most basic of transportation. (Wish we had the Netherlands motto).

      When you are in college, you aren’t in a place allowing big trips. You don’t have the $. You just need to pay for everyday needs. Cars really hurt your budget with no extra income. Many students live only 5 miles or less from school or in dorms. Bikes are ideal.
      I’ve bike commuted my adult life in a US city for many years. If it’s a decent location for it, no reason to not try. It’s fun. It’s healthy. It’ll decrease stress and health problems.
