Hafthor Julius Bjornsson is the Undisputed Greatest Stonelifter who ever lived. He is the undisputed *KING OF THE STONES.* He said it first at 2014 ESM and after a decade, it is still valid. The 5 piece Inver stone run with 125 to 191 (275 to 420) have been run in 3 comps with two different setups: 2021 and 2022 were over a hitching post and 2024 was onto the top of whiskey barrels with an additional buzzer. The World Record holders are Martins Licis for hitching post format and Hafthor for whiskey barrel format (this performance 17:48). And out of all three instances, a total of 30 attempts, Hafthor is the first and only man to one motion all 5 Inver Stones! It was absolutely Incredible! Just listen to Loz's reaction...
How amazing it would be if Thor and Tom did a stone-off to determine the 2nd place instead of leaving it as tied. This would be the only occasion when I will be supporting a stone-off lol
Now I want to see the Manhood Stone at Arnolds 2025, and see if Thor can break Brian's record of 244kg x 3 with Tom pushing him. It would also be epic to see Thor lifting a 300kg stone before he retires
Brother, I think Trey was slightly faster than Martins the year he did it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but far as I remember Trey is the record holder for the set with a hitching post
@@antoniocenteno1483 Brian has training footage of 254kg x 2. Not saying it counts as WR but Thor can do better than 250kg x 2 for sure and should get the opportunity and to do so
It really didn't make sense at the end of the sled drag where you needed a judge to tell you if you finished or not. The judge should just stop the time then.
I think they are trying to give it some sort of American Gladiators vibe to pull viewership. It looks cheap and corny. And yes, judges should keep time-not athletes.
Thor if he hadn't tried to prove himself in powerlifting, getting injured would be unstoppable, if he can get his press sorted if possible watch out everyone...
@BRUTUSz if he wants to win, and the competition has a press, he will need to get over it, he has the potential in all the other events to come first...
Really wish the whole Eddie Hall boxing and power lifting never happened. The things he could have accomplished during that time. There was basically no competition for him
If that buzzer really is what stops the clock, then I think it's a good idea. Not to say that the timekeeper has any bad intentions, but it puts the clock in the hands of the lifters (the lifters that complete their runs, at least).
@@jarnohams9214 if you think only Tom has injuries you are delusional, all of those guys have injuries and pain, Thor had a swollen foot the whole comp
Why did Rogue try to turn strongman into CrossFit? It was bad enough with the ‘grip and press’ (what a dumb name) and the DL ladder that wasn’t a ladder and had a bunch of random bars all over the place - but now with this stupid buzzer at the end of the stones? Bring it back to TX and run it like a normal strongman comp.
@ the whole show so far has been kind of a gimmick, though. A far cry from what it’s been the last couple years. Why did the men and women go against each other in the grip and press? (And why was the women’s weight so heavy that so few could get a rep?) Then the sandbag push thing - honestly, I fell asleep during that event. Just overall poorly thought out. I’m glad the guys had the Shaw Classic before this - that was a top-notch event.
@@joeyoest1105 Oh yes, the SMOE, nothing went wrong in that comp. All axles were in the correct position, no athlete did the first press event with the implements in the wrong order and of course what a perfect squat event that was. It really showed who the worlds strongest squatter is....
Hafthor is the king of atlas stone runs with tacky as well. Please watch the 120-200 KG heavy stone set world record in 2017 Europes and also his 6 piece stone run world record in 2014 Europes
I understand the buzzer when there's a bunch of athletes competing in a heat together. However, with only a few atheletes competing at a time, it doesn't make any damn sense. The judges can easily keep track of the times. Futhermore, with events when the athletes don't finish all the implements and hit the buzzer, the judges would have to keep track of the time anyway.
Kordiyaka: Adjusting belt... - BEEP - "And Kordiyaka is ready." 😂 IF the athletes are competing alone, (and it's in Europe) why not have the count down in their native language?
Good lord, can we stop trying to bleed stupid crossfit game crap into strongman, this isnt a dam game show, theres no need for a stupid buzzer. We want to know whos the strongest man or strongest women not who can do x for time and calories burned.
So beating a guy that nurtured a lower back injury for several months. Still recovering from that and being 85-90% of his max power. Makes Thor the real King!? Tom still has the heaviest stone and the 10 stones 110kg-200kg World Records..
@ then what happened at SMOE? Where Thor won the stones again. He could have at least mentioned Thor’s performance on that. Thor holds the most international stone event wins in strongman history and Tom is not even in top 5, Thor also have the most stone world records in strongman history with 17 meanwhile Tom in 3rd place with only 6 .
I used to really enjoy the Rouge Invitational; it had a lot of potential. But it's a shame they have to ruin these shows with silly little gimmicks and poor event organisation, like having the men and women go head-to-head for no reason. It's becoming/is the worst big comp of the year.
This is one event that you really don't need to cut to different camera views during. When it switches to the top of an empty barrel and prevents you from watching the setup..There is no payoff there. The buzzer is an abysmally dumb addition. They nailed the weights of the stones though.
Having these beasts hit a buzzer that looks like it’s broken after the first hit is ridiclous after lifting a combined 1000 pounds & placing them on podiums. It’s like having the marathon runners cross the finish line & hit a buzzer
The speed of Hafthor, Damn...
