I remember renting this game when it came out and only got to level 3 on the 3rd day before I had to return it and was stuck on if for a while, but managed to make to level 4 on my final hours of playing it before I had to return it to the rental store. This was the only game that intimidated me and I did not want to buy because I had some what of a ego that I could be every game that I had every played be it owned or rented and this was the first game that ended my win streak. One of these days I still need to play this game and beat it. Great run!!!
I believe every single speedrunner that exists, at some time in their past, played this game and are forever chasing the high they got when they got however far they got.
The first and second levels were so much fun. After that....Hell awaits. This game was decent, but needed balance. Your life bar doesn't really matter after level 3. Almost everything is a one hit kill. Battletoads & Double Dragon was a FAR better game.

You did great! I always had the biggest problems with the Karnath's lair aka The Snake Pit. Always went for the warp there.

Before Dark Souls and Meat Boy, there was Battletoads. A cool concept, but the game is ridiculously hard.

I'm still pissed at this game. The damn speed tunnel is almost impossible for an adult to get through, much less a kid.
It's possible, just EXTREMELY frustrating.
