  • In this video, we analyze two internet-breaking, earth-shaking, twin-engine race cars that you cannot even imagine existing. This is Build VS Build!
Thanks & Shout-out to ‪@PeterBjorck‬ for the video collaboration.
We will dive deep into the tech in this one to see how a Norwegian madman has fabricated 3 cars into one for the sake of 4wd powersliding the ‪@gatebil5808‬ events, then comparing it to a British tube-frame rocketship with two motorbike engines in the back. In the end, we will score them both in the Grumblo criteria of Performance, Looks & Sounds.
Starting off with the Starlet that isn’t really a Starlet at all. Roger Håland wanted to build a Pike’s Peak style car for the Gatebil events, and he happens to really like Toyotas. So he casually went and cut a 3rd gen MR2 Turbo chassis in half. Then he proceeded to cut a Celica GT4 in half as well. Once the two cars were ruined, he went and welded the front half of the Celica’s floor into the rear half of the MR2, conveniently now having a place and drivetrain for a transverse 3S-GTE engine in both ends of the vehicle. Roger then connected and strengthened the chassis with a roll cage, and finally dropped the body panels of a Starlet on top.
Phil Cooper’s Autograss Class 7 Super Saloon build starts with a spaceframe chassis built by XC Worx. Two race prepped 1.3-liter Suzuki Hayabusa engines with high compression pistons and race camshafts are hugging each other behind the driver’s compartment.

Two mental builds.Don’t care for what type of racing they are built,if they are N/A or with forced induction, what displacement or number of cylinders does not matter-the crazier, the better.

Years ago my father raced in autograss racing he was part of Weymouth motor racing club. One class 7 mini pickup had a TVR engine with twin turbo the biggest problem was always getting the power just right on take off , too much and he would blow the half shafts to bits .

Raced in class 7 grasstrack, in a mini pick up with a V8 in the back, those were the years...now it’s all about bike engines, no super chargers, no direct drive, like all motorsports it’s all about money....
