    Do you end up having issues with the filament being rolled over multiple times by the spur gear? What about using to rubber rollers where only one is driven?

    loving the use of ethernet strands for cabling 👍

    2 steppers and a servo? Pritty much exactly what I have been meaning to design for the last few years. :) Does it also have cutting mechanism to trim the end of the filliment to avoid messing about with ramming etc?

      It does not have a cutters afaik

    It is basically a build from spares

    difference vs ercf? only the 2020 alu profile and linear rail?

      no theres no fussing about with those gate washers and magnets and theres also no "encoder" per say but from what i gather its relying on microswitches to tell its positon, when it pulls it in you can hear the switch actuate, push foward x amout then run it back same distance and if it changes state of the switch now it knows where the end of the filament is. simple and very effective. the ercf is a great design but i think a bit over engineered.

    This is awesome. Have you thought about using larger LGX style drive gears?

    • @aharkey1077
      @aharkey1077 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see that happening until someone starts making LGX parts kits similar to how cheap/available BMG kits are. I hope someday that becomes a thing though.

    Why did I build an ERCF 😭 The tip tuning is a nightmare and this could potentially be way better

    • @TheHell34

    • @imforpeace9511

      Never had to tune my tips and everything works perfectly. I'm using 2.5 ID and an Orbiter 1.5. Also by the looks of it this does not have an encoder, and whilst the tradrack seems to be easier to make, I don't think that it's a direct upgrade functionality wise. Perhaps the ERCF is overengineered to an extent, but it's an amazing MMU when you get it to work.
