Great review and great car I love the changes I’m definitely buying the touring I’m not sold about no bench 2nd row in only lx-ex-l but everything else is much better espically the cabin talk, cabin speak and all those!
Hey just wanted to let you know that you can still get bench seating on the Touring if you prefer. Only the Elite is locked into captain chairs. Sorry for not being clear about that!
I can't understand that decision. If I am buying a third row, I most likely have a large family and therefore need all the seats I can get. So buying top of the line reduces my capacity. I just don't get it. Captains chairs add little in my opinion, even if you don't need the seating.
I want the Elite with bench seating..it should be an option !

I love the new taillights. I'm glad they moved the reverse lamps up into the actual assembly. I can't even fathom how some automakers put the turn signal, and reverse lamps down low on the bumper.
I have a 2017 Pilot and can't stand that the reverse lights is so low down on the bumper. If a car is directly in back of you they wouldn't be able to see if you needed to back-up. I wish they would go back to the dual exhaust in the rear...it would give it a more sporty look to separate it more from the Odyssey.
billyvision Omg I thought I was the only one who hated the reverse lights being on the bottom. I agree, how is the car behind you going to see your reverse light is on. This is the same with the RAV4, Mitsubishi SUV’s, the new Santa Fe, etc. And they also included a volume knob unlike that volume swiping thing which I hated. It’s as if Honda read my mind.

Excellent review. Thank you. I just have one small suggestion. Please move the cameras slower and/or get a 2nd camera person to shoot while the other reviews. In some spots I was almost getting motion sick and had to turn away. But other than that, it was a great review.

Also, is it possible to retrofit the blind spot monitoring to my Pilot 2017 EXL?

Nissan hasn't announced when the 2019 Pathfinder will make it to dealers, but we will definitely be reviewing it when it does!

It's interesting how the CR-V has full LED tail lights, but yet Honda's newer and more expensive models don't (the Odyssey, Accord, even the Acura RDX) & by full, I mean LED turning signals in the rear
Moving lights on corners remind me of Flux Capacitor from MJF car.
You don’t need to press the lock button on the remote twice to use the remote start, at least in the older models.
I like the thicc chrome bar. 😉
Very good review. I bought the 2019 Pilot EXL with Navigation and RE system yesterday, very impressive. I did not understand the Auto/Stop feature you talked about, what is that about. Thanks.
Thanks! Auto start/stop is when the engine turns off at redlights and then restarts when you lift your foot off the brake
@@CarConfections thanks for the quick reply, wouldn't this action of stopping and starting, would wear the engine and consume more gas. i suppose you can disable this feature, not sure if is available in the EXL.
@@carapungo it can be disabled. It supposedly saves fuel but I don't think there are any studies on the long-term reliability impact

Glad to hear that! Rear defrost is standard, and you will get fog lights as long as you don't buy the base trim (LX). They are on sale nation wide right now

They have to make those turn signals LEDS just like the CRV, it doesn’t compete the redesigned look without them.

I hate the horizontal tach but I get it; most buyers of the Pilot could care less how fast the engine is spinning. Also, what's with the unnecessarily huge physical (as in: not digital) fuel and temp gauges? Why not have the entire instrument panel a configurable digital display?
Course they didn't have memory seats or Sensing for the EXL I just got in April :(

Is the one button seat folding dangerous? If someone is sitting there and a child presses the button playing around? Also what if a car seat is there and someone presses it playing around? Just wondering because I don’t trust my kids not to touch it, but love this model. Thanks for the review!
Well I can't say I tried that, but I do know that it doesn't fold with a great deal of force. I would think that the weight of having someone in the seat would be enough to keep it from sliding. Thanks for watching!
Those front seat armrests drive me crazy, so much like a minivan! Why not just have a huge center armrest/console?
Honda ... these features should have been standard like in the Highlander. The only thing I truly appreciated was the led daytime running light

Another fantastic review. But if I can give some constructive criticism. For the speaker showing. You need to find songs (in your royalty-free library). The highlights mids, highs and lows. Like poppy songs and smooth and low tones.

There’s a volume adjuster on the steering wheel, right?
That drivers side arm rest prevented us from getting the pilot and we got the mdx instead. Not only is it uncomfortable for long rides but it is flimsy and very mini vanish.

I wish automakers would relax with all the chrome trim they keep adding to cars.. I mean at least do black chrome instead.. the traditional shinny chrome is so outdated and annoying.

I like it But, Do they have a trim with stick shifter? I don’t like pushing bottoms to drive my car, makes me feel like a 98 years old lady, or dumb person. A mom or ladies want to keep feeling cool driving a family car. Also I would have like to see the air vents on top, when I put my baby’s car seat in the middle of bench kind of block the AC.

I'd like to make a suggestion for you guys. As you mentioned early on in the review, 3 row crossovers are becoming quite the demand. Families are shifting from vans to crossovers. I suggest that 1 or both of you take a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) certification course. Getting that certification will help you know and understand the car seat safety features of the vehicles you review to help families know what to expect and look for. For example, all trims of the Pilot offer Top Tether Anchors (TAs) in ALL of the rear seating positions. This is HUGE for families with multiple kids in car seats. Visit cert.safekids.org/become-tech to find a class near you. It truly will help add another level of knowledge to your reviews.

Yikes at the huge fuel and temp gauges. I'm ok with the digital speedo but hate the horizontal tach. This design is a mess.
no epoxy on the top of the steering wheel? This is a must in Arizona the leather goes to hell in a year!
Why does the screen keep flickering
It's an effect of the camera due to the frame rate syncing up with the display. It wasn't actually happening in real life
