Well thanks Rob ,I'm 51 and just spent the whole of that video reminiscing my "carpark days " lol ,body kits and Clifford alarms where a must have in them days , brilliant usual guys can't wait for next video on this 👍
Cant wait to see you do a full nut and bolt resto.... oh, ! haha, Love the classic Impreza, there was never a doubt in my mind that the EJ 20 engine would burst into life, one of the best engines ever produced. Awesome sound. Needs to be put back to standard and cherished.
I had a 94 jdm wrx for about 6 months and sold it just before covid came for 1500 now its probably worth triple that. Wish i kept that 1. And yeh those skirts and reap bumper spats should be black. Just blast the paint off with pressure washer will look like 10x better
Nice find. The car is definitely going to need a transformation back to standard, it's crying out for it! A clean honest example with the right wheels, lights etc will do the car wonders.
Rob that kit is standard normally its black plastic colour obviously some body has colour coded it and not prepped the surface properly or used plastic primer hence its flacking
Great car ,got a wrx jdm classic myself minter in the workshop ,those side skirts would be black as are the spats on the bumper most were Color coded ,good luck 👍👍👍
Rob: “I had a few of these when I was younger” (ha ha! - I bet you were a right hooligan Rob, I bet your Mum had some right sleepless nights waiting for the front door to go in the small hours ha ha!) Stay blessed buddy 🙏👍😊
Your snow foam is a pre-wash. Put it on, let it sit and then rinse to get the top layer of dirt off. Then do your wash and wax. It just stops you rubbing the tiny bits of dirt into the paint
Great video Rob, i had a classic about 16 years ago in green with big rear spoiler and exhaust but it was only the sport version when i lived in Medway. Have a great weekend guys 👍
Interesting vehicle to see on the channel. Speaking of viewing in the dark, recently I purchased a pair of 2000 lumen cordless rechargeable inspection lamps. Very portable and bright enough to cast a fair bit of light on a subject. Also handy in a power cut. Seeing that big wing reminded me of a chap I knew back when these were new. He bought an import STI Type R 2 door. Parked it one day and came back to find the big wing stolen. What a mess it was and such a shame as he saved for ages to get the car. Thank you.
Theres all original skirts Rob, just someone painted them white. Would look much better black, Allways loved the classic imprezas, looking forward to what ye do to it 👍👍
I really enjoyed watching this, it brought back many happy memories because my boyfriend had one of these back in the day, I remember it being a 1999 silver estate model, he used to adore that car, so much so that I used to be jealous of it lol!!😊.
Great to have an Impreza Mk1 on the channel, fellas. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with that. Straight ones are few and far between and very sought-after. Great buy!
Love Subaru's but hate boy racer one's, probably look better with all that body kit and boy racer accessories removed imo, makes a change from a Ford guys lol, loving your videos as always 😎👍🏻
Rob and Chris I don't remember a lot of white classic subarus mostly silver, blue or black. The side skirts wants putting back to black, then standard rear lights and steering wheel.
Looks good! I’m just in the process of doing a wrx hatch After that I’m doing a red classic 93 import doing videos on both Will follow the channel be nice to see how you do with it
Didn't expect full restoration but I know all the bits that need doing will be done. Hopefully you'll do more than the 2 video on it. Keep up the great work guys.
Never mind what speakers it has or what colour the body kit is what we all want is BOOST. What boost is it running. I’ve already spied a turbo timer. Jeez how I’d love to go back in time to when these were current. It takes a lot of driver skill to get the max out of one of these but I’ve been there & got that t-shirt.👍
Main thing to check is for a closed deck block, look for the cross hatching on the front of the block, that means it’s pretty much an early STi and is defo worth more than a Uk or newer one 😎 worth checking
The detailing comment makes me laugh! This is a car from an era of a B&Q bucket, some turtle wax and a £1 sponge from the local auto spares. I think what you’re doing Rob is bang on!
Absolutely love these cars….loose the kit, change the rear lights, spoiler and exhaust back to standard….then take it to some nice country lanes and give it a blast
I think a lot of those parts are JDM Standard, but I agree...those older mechanical WRX/STI editions were spectacular to drive and you can fall in love with the AWD so quickly throwing one into a corner.
harlequin paint, so I think the doors or wings were replaced at some point. rev counter sticks so might need a couple of "love taps"..but yeah a fair few after market add ons ..
On your recomendation, I bought some G101. I now mix it in a spray bottle 5 parts water to 1 part G101. I then spray the car all over with the G101 mix, especially the lower half. Leave it for 2 or 3 mins and then put the snow foam over the top. Once you have left the snow foam for 5 or 10 mins and blast it off, the car is a lot cleaner as the G101 has done a job. Also works great on wheels and tyres.
This is great content boys. Spend a bit, make it lovely and raffle it like some of the other channels do. I'd buy tickets. Any Petrol head between 25 and 50 yrs of age wanted one of these at one point. Great work boys.
Good to see you guys finally tackling a Subaru! For a simple and easy solution to all the problems they have, if you open the bonnet and throw your wallet in there, it seems to fix it! Favourite brand of car for me they are so I’m buzzing for the next instalment! Good job boys
This is going to be really good mate Iv just bought myself a barn find wrx Subaru so il enjoy watching this content and getting some tips from your project
Before an injury forced the closer of my business I looked after a few Impreza competition cars and they have the nicest gearbox to strip / rebuild and also one of the easiest boxes to remove. I look forward to watch your progress with this one.....
Congrats on finding a fairly solid example! Personally, I think it would be worth repainting the skirts etc, in white - if you have them done in black, they'll 'disappear' from view.
Hi Rob and Chris lovin that car. You don't see any of these about anymore especially in white. Engine sounded really good looking forward to the next one on this thanks.
Not a bad car that one. They tend to get the life squeezed out of them but it does sound OK. Japanese imports are generally good cars, they look after them over there and especially if it was bought through an auction. Yes Rob I agree with you on the side skirts, clean them up and spray them black and it will be fine. Just polish up what you can and move it on with an MOT. Thanks for the video Rob and Chris hope you have a good weekend. 👍
Great car guys I've just sold an 94 import and the kit is factory on the WRX STI version in Japan look forward to seeing more of this and the kit is usually grey
Perfect candidate for a quick flip, hope you are planning to get it to MoT level though. It does sound nice (as far as flat 4s sound nice). Have a good weekend.
With regards the comment about not liking to give away future projects in present videos, actually, i would be quite interested to see the timing of your work, like, "a week in the life of" one off video. Just think it would be a really interesting video, even if it was a timelapse style filming of projects we saw ages ago, so that no future videos are spoiled.
This was just up the road from me (I live in Canterbury as well) I knocked the door a few times never got an answer 😔 glad to see Rob and Chris working their magic
I would love to see all the aftermarket bits sitting in a skip. Love the stock looks of these, and I am past the point in my life where aftermarket radios alarms and tachometers are appealing
Rob the scooby has some lines and stains on agreed nothing your Beauty tech cant sort out bit of botox and teeth whitener and the scooby with be smooth and gleaming lol... love the channel you and chris normal fellas living ya best lives and we are watching...keep it coming lads! 🤘🤘
Chris, any knocking on cold start up (as rhere was here) should not worry you. This is commonplce on EJ20s of all types. we had many imprezas and foresters come through that did the cold knock but once up to temp absolutely bullerproof for 400*bhp all day long. well jell. cheers, keep u the good work guys!
Subaru's where my favourite car as a child, first memory is Peter Solberg going through Sweden in that WRC spec Subaru. Then I grew up and learned about the engine reliability! So never owned one, but I am a very big fan! Nice surprise this upload.
Looks good. For its age , to be honest never been a fan of those cars .. but I know they have a big following, and I am sure you two will get it back on the road. And it will not take long to find a new owner …
I can't wait for the nut and bolt restoration of this car ! haha - seriously guys can't wait to see what you do with it. If there was profit in it I could imagine it polished up, third party kit removed with wheels coloured that Subaru Gold colour. That model Impreza is stunning.
Knowing Chris knowledge it will be back on the road in less than a week and this is before I watch the video
Thing is, being a subi it'll be crashed in less than a week as well
Well thanks Rob ,I'm 51 and just spent the whole of that video reminiscing my "carpark days " lol ,body kits and Clifford alarms where a must have in them days , brilliant usual guys can't wait for next video on this 👍
I will say one thing and that is you are a brave man, that is a right state and a lot of work, not one of your best buys
Piece of cake to get that done, bread n butter job and a nice earner....you see!
Owned a scooby afew years back, looking forward to this one! Happy Friday fellas 🍺
“The seller is a “Man of his word!” Or “ Gentleman’s contract.” So rare nowadays! What a sweet Subaru! Nice one Rob & Chris!
I can't believe you keep finding these little gems. I'd kill for this motor. Why can I never find stuff like this!
Cant wait to see you do a full nut and bolt resto.... oh, ! haha, Love the classic Impreza, there was never a doubt in my mind that the EJ 20 engine would burst into life, one of the best engines ever produced. Awesome sound. Needs to be put back to standard and cherished.

Ahh yes one of the better Scooby's, had one in the family when I was a kid. Nice change up for the channel, looking forward to it!
Made me laugh when the alarm went off and you jumped 🤣
Another great video 👍
OMG i had a IMPREZA WRX in midnight blue way back in 2000 ..super excited about this peach ROB
Rob that kit is standard normally its black plastic colour obviously some body has colour coded it and not prepped the surface properly or used plastic primer hence its flacking
Second that comment also 👌
When you were showing us the size of the exhaust, it reminded me of some of my ex-mother in laws' home made videos! 😂
Great car ,got a wrx jdm classic myself minter in the workshop ,those side skirts would be black as are the spats on the bumper most were Color coded ,good luck 👍👍👍
13:46 literally gave me shivers.... what a trip down memory lane. Great video lads.
I modify and work on subarus for a living everything from servicing to some of the most powerful in the UK so if you have any questions let me know
Love the sound of that engine, worth the price of admission alone.
Ohh I do love the sound of a Subaru, Can't wait to see this finished, Going to be lovely 😍
Great video Rob, i had a classic about 16 years ago in green with big rear spoiler and exhaust but it was only the sport version when i lived in Medway. Have a great weekend guys 👍
Miss my old wrx ..It don't look too bad, there usually rotted out on the rear arches . Looking forward to the next one👍
Interesting vehicle to see on the channel. Speaking of viewing in the dark, recently I purchased a pair of 2000 lumen cordless rechargeable inspection lamps. Theres all original skirts Rob, just someone painted them white. Would look much better black, Allways loved the classic imprezas, looking forward to what ye do to it 👍👍
I can't believe you've got my dream car sat in your yard absolutely love the first generation of Subaru nice one guy's have a great weekend 👌👌👌
Hi there, I have a JDM Version 3 STI and those side skirts are factory, they've just been painted white. They come as black plastic from the factory.
I really enjoyed watching this, it brought back many happy memories because my boyfriend had one of these back in the day, I remember it being a 1999 silver estate model, he used to adore that car, so much so that I used to be jealous of it lol!!😊.
Looking forward to this one…….I’m sure you will do your magic on it…
Great to have an Impreza Mk1 on the channel, fellas. Can't wait to see what you're going to do with that. Straight ones are few and far between and very sought-after. Great buy!
Rob might be worth taking the spoiler off see what the seals and nuts and bolts are like probably where the damps coming from
Rectifying the source of that spoiler rust would be nice touch rather that letting it reoccur.
👍👍👍👌
The kit was factory, sti models came painted wrx it was an optional extra to have coded, pretty rare to have the extra spats
Another good buy rob your buying is a lot to do with making a good profit and the good work you both put in brill channel
This channel has come on leaps & bounds now we’re getting interesting subscribers stuff rather than just what’s down at co-part. 👍
Love Subaru's but hate boy racer one's, probably look better with all that body kit and boy racer accessories removed imo, makes a change from a Ford guys lol, loving your videos as always 😎👍🏻
Totally agree
Rob and Chris I don't remember a lot of white classic subarus mostly silver, blue or black. The side skirts wants putting back to black, then standard rear lights and steering wheel.
Looks good! I’m just in the process of doing a wrx hatch
After that I’m doing a red classic 93 import doing videos on both

When on Intagram, don't forget your daytime phone number !
👍👍👍👌
Main thing to check is for a closed deck block, look for the cross hatching on the front of the block, that means it’s pretty much an early STi and is defo worth more than a Uk or newer one 😎 worth checking
Great vid with an interesting car, looking forward to the 2nd vid and what you do with it. Just don't spray it blue and gold.
The detailing comment makes me laugh! This is a car from an era of a B&Q bucket, some turtle wax and a £1 sponge from the local auto spares. I think what you’re doing Rob is bang on!
A classic Scooby!!! Very nice 👍 looking forward to the next video 😀
Brilliant video 👍
I'm 60 and had two of those back in the day brilliant fun when we all thought we were Colin McRae.
The body kit is standard ,but originally had the low spoiler also should have a td05 turbo instead of the td04 on UK models so more bhp
Can’t wait to see this for sale and complete… would be very interested👏🏼 love the scoobys! All the best chaps
18.16 my notification has just arrived is youtube on a go slow
harlequin paint, so I think the doors or wings were replaced at some point. rev counter sticks so might need a couple of "love taps"..but yeah a fair few after market add ons ..
That exhaust pipe would fit perfect on Chris's new mower.
On your recomendation, I bought some G101. I now mix it in a spray bottle 5 parts water to 1 part G101. I then spray the car all over with the G101 mix, especially the lower half. It works great on anything 👍
I love it how you told everyone about the alarm and still jumped 🤣🤣
Love this shape Subaru! Chris, please put it back to the original state.
I hope its got a dump valve. Chris loves a dump valve
Rob u need your own channel on the tv like car sos wheeler dealers bangers and cash you and chris will be brilliant and viewing figures will be unreal
Get that back to standard and you'll be doing the world a favour :)
Yes!!! 👍 so true!
And also their pockets 👍🏼
This is great content boys. Spend a bit, make it lovely and raffle it like some of the other channels do. I'd buy tickets. Any Petrol head between 25 and 50 yrs of age wanted one of these at one point. Great work boys.
Love this, will make great content. Earlier the better for me with the Impreza 😍
Good to see you guys finally tackling a Subaru! For a simple and easy solution to all the problems they have, if you open the bonnet and throw your wallet in there, it seems to fix it! Favourite brand of car for me they are so I’m buzzing for the next instalment! Good job boys
Should be interesting to see it coming back to life. 👍
This is going to be really good mate Iv just bought myself a barn find wrx Subaru so il enjoy watching this content and getting some tips from your project
Those plastic bit are originally black on the WRX from factory
Someone has colour coded them.
This is going to be a great couple of videos getting this one back in the road. Love the old cars. Keep up the good work 👍👍
The best subaru shape in my opinion 👌
Before an injury forced the closer of my business I looked after a few Impreza competition cars and they have the nicest gearbox to strip / rebuild and also one of the easiest boxes to remove. I look forward to watch your progress with this one.....
When that alarm went off you looked like you had been caught red handed trying to nick it Rob. 😅😂🤣
Congrats on finding a fairly solid example! Personally, I think it would be worth repainting the skirts etc, in white - if you have them done in black, they'll 'disappear' from view.
Oooo, I’m going to enjoy this one!
Hi Rob and Chris lovin that car. You don't see any of these about anymore especially in white. Engine sounded really good looking forward to the next one on this thanks.
Forget Netflix....... this is much better !
Cheers bud 👍
I think this classic car restoration will better anything Hammond has ongoing. Can't wait to see it finished. 👍
Lol what restoration 🤷♂️
Can't wait for more videos ov this good choice

Anytime these motors come up or I see them you immediately think of one man….COLIN MCRAE
Great car guys I've just sold an 94 import and the kit is factory on the WRX STI version in Japan look forward to seeing more of this and the kit is usually grey
Guys, please....De-Chav that car
Proper alloys and swop the steering wheel
Put back to standard!!!!
Perfect candidate for a quick flip, hope you are planning to get it to MoT level though. It does sound nice (as far as flat 4s sound nice). Have a good weekend.
I knew a bird who was like that exhaust pipe
Easy lads nearly made me spit me coffee all over the shop love that beautiful beast of a bit of history well played
You've had a few of these when you were younger? When did you Essex boys ditch uncle Henry?
With regards the comment about not liking to give away future projects in present videos, actually, i would be quite interested to see the timing of your work, like, "a week in the life of" one off video. Just think it would be a really interesting video, even if it was a timelapse style filming of projects we saw ages ago, so that no future videos are spoiled.
Laughed my head off when that alarm went off Rob 🤣🤣🤣
Now you’re talking, owned 2 of these and would have another tomorrow if I had the room. Love the rumble of the boxer engine. Looking forward to this
Clean it up and get it running and send it down the road 👍
This was just up the road from me (I live in Canterbury as well) I knocked the door a few times never got an answer 😔 glad to see Rob and Chris working their magic
Go on - restore it - you know you want to.
I live near a air base and used to see a lot of these parked up with and without car covers for months at a time
I would love to see all the aftermarket bits sitting in a skip. Love the stock looks of these, and I am past the point in my life where aftermarket radios alarms and tachometers are appealing
Quick and simple up and running and out!
Rob the scooby has some lines and stains on agreed nothing your Beauty tech cant sort out bit of botox and teeth whitener and the scooby with be smooth and gleaming lol... love the channel you and chris normal fellas living ya best lives and we are watching...keep it coming lads! 🤘🤘

If you can fit a fist in it .......marry it 🤣. Defo needs to be standard look tho imo good work guys.
Essential viewing on a Friday night when I get in from work and have me dinner👌🏻
Love the channel Rob and Chris👍🏻
Yes I’m the same every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 👍
If you want to drive this car on the road you'll have to get a Subaru branded fleece to wear. I believe it's compulsory.😁
As is the Subaru baseball cap :)
Comes free with a 555 number plate.
@@davidcook6064 worn the wrong way round…
Subaru's where my favourite car as a child, first memory is Peter Solberg going through Sweden in that WRC spec Subaru. Then I grew up and learned about the engine reliability! So never owned one, but I am a very big fan! Nice surprise this upload.
Though I didn't see anyone using a vape or drinking a can of monster, sure its a Subaru?
Love the Impreza, but that bodykit is definetly letting it down. That would be the first thing i'd remove.
Looks good. For its age , to be honest never been a fan of those cars .. but I know they have a big following, and I am sure you two will get it back on the road. And it will not take long to find a new owner …
Any news about the BENTLEY
I can't wait for the nut and bolt restoration of this car ! haha - seriously guys can't wait to see what you do with it. If there was profit in it I could imagine it polished up, third party kit removed with wheels coloured that Subaru Gold colour. That model Impreza is stunning.
Looks like toast to me Rob......bit of a nail hope it was cheap as chips
