    It's nice to know that's available now. My own shooting doesn't go that long or require full pops, so I'm happy to have a cordless setup. Not so many things to trip over now.

      Same, I'm spoiled now. Even in a studio cables seem so limiting / annoying.

    yep super glad I did not waste money on Profoto mind you after my Profoto A1 blew up while I was using it, and the response I got from Profoto UK I clearly was not going back to them.

    Considering getting the AC adapter for my AD600 mainly because I'd like to ensure my strobes usability long after replacement batteries are no longer availible 😊

      dunnymonster my worry too

      Then why not just get an AC-powered unit in the first place? Then after the collapse of civilization you can hook up a pedal-powered generator and keep shooting, although I suspect the collapse of civilization will be a bit tough on the studio photography market...

      J.L. Williams I prefer the convenience of having the strobe battery powered even in a studio environment just to cut down on wires. It's likely however that my AD600 will last many years long after replacement batteries are no longer made by Godox. In that case I'd power it via AC than simply disguard it altogether 😊

      Not a bad disaster plan. Although with the popularity I don't think batteries will be out of stock anytime soon. I'd wager we need new lighting to work with global shutters before that happens.

    Does the fan run often? I sold my Einsteins because my studio sounded like a beauty parlor with hair driers blowing. Drove me nuts. I like a quiet studio for table-top.

    Hi Robert, love your channel keep up the good work. Quick question, does the new reflector of the AD600 PRO also fits on the previous AD600B model? I currently have some 7" ones, but I love the new slimmer design of the reflector.

    Is the 600Pro a solid investment? I know the price is great but may come with a catch. Have you had any problems? I just love how portable it is. Thanks for the videos.

    • @robhallphoto
      @robhallphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's definitely a solid investment, especially when compared to the field. The original AD600 is still an awesome investment too. So much capability for the money. I've had no problems with my AD600 Pro.

    Has any one put a battery pack/ inverter and if so what size would work best

  • @airjaff
    @airjaff 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So expensive, surely if you have a pinout diagram, you can just find a suitable ac power supply and wire it in. I will be trying that. I've done it in the past

    Thanks for the up update. I'm assuming this doesn't change any of the limitations on the number of continuous flashes at full power and HSS, since those are more heat related than battery. Unless that extra length includes a fan or extra heat dispersion. Thanks again.

    • @robhallphoto
      @robhallphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The heat protection is counter-based, not temperature based, so those limitations will still be identical. There is a fan in the ac adapter as well though.

    I live in Australia, does the AC adapter work with 240V or just 110V???

    Hii Robert.. hope u r doing grt :)
    is explorer 600 pro coming with carry handle now ?
    Adorama images show a carry handle but u mentioned it isn't there in ur previous video.... is it newly included in the design?

  • @nakleh

    Does this work with the AD 400 Pro, if you just keep the battery plugged in while connected to the camera? A) is this even available for the AD400 Pro, and B) is this even necessary if you can just keep in plugged in while being used?

    • @robhallphoto
      @robhallphoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not recommended to charge while shooting. You can easily cause the battery to swell because you are putting a lot of energy in as you also take it out. Basically it's overworking the battery. So for B), yes it's necessary. A) No it's not yet available for AD400 pro

      @robhallphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't. I should have one in hands before it's available so I'll update everyone as soon as I do!

      Hey, quick update on that extension head. I just saw a web add from adorama featuring the Xplor 600 pro head and when u hover over it it lists for 200 dollars. But when you click on the link it brings you to the item page which still says it's not out yet. I haven't seen that ad before today so I think the head may be on its way very soon!

    What is the duty cycle with the AC adapter?
    Isn't it only 50 full-powered pops using the battery before it pauses/stops?

  • @siby23
    @siby23 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The biggest drawback with 600 pro is overheat. I had incidents in two events. in one of my wedding event, during cake cutting, my 600pro stop firing the light. my second shooter saved me. the flash unit was frozen. I had to take battery out and put it back to get it work. in second shoot, the recycle time was like 1 minute. about 25 people waiting for a group shot and long recycle time killed me. I am considering of selling xplorer 600 and buying profoto
