- This is how you can put the same amount of space (say, 3 seconds) in between multiple audio items in Reaper with just one action. This is a follow-on from another video showing you how to automatically create several audio items (like spoken phrases) from one long audio file. THAT video is here: • Reaper Tutorial 2021: ... . Both of those videos are excerpts from my course, The Newbies Guide To Audio Recording Awesomeness 2: Pro Recording With Reaper, which you can find here: www.homebrewau...
I keep on saying this for every one of your lessons, because it is true: I very much appreciate your skill in explaining things so well.
Many thanks.
Thanks so much! I appreciate that feedback!
You saved me lots of hours, thank youuuu!!
You're welcome!
That reposition is amazing. Thank you for showing me that!
You're welcome, Tori! Yeah, that was a game changer for me when I first discovered it.

Man, You just saved my life, today is the last day I have to deliver the Job, 1 hour of voice recording... I splited, and a lot of box is now all over the track, to reagroup... Thx a lot!!!

@@HomebrewAudioRecording God bless you!
This is simply great! Thanks a lot for this tutorial!
You're welcome. And thanks for the kind words!
Wow! This video introduced a new door to Reaper to me with that extension. Thanks!
You're welcome. Yes, there are many extra things you can do with the www.sws-extension.org/ plugin extensions.
@@HomebrewAudioRecording Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time!
You're welcome!
Oh this is awesome, thanks!!
You're welcome!
Beautifully well done sir, clearly explained and demonstrated! Going to check this out tmrw....wondering how it works overlapping punched-in files mixed in with standalone single sections....we will see!
Thanks!
thank you, I've used reposition for so long, and right now forgot its name.
Looking for the video on how to save each item as its own separate file - did you not record it or am i missing something?
You're not missing something :-). I think this is what you want: th-cam.com/video/Qz1yzyqBVJI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the tipps. I love the reposition commanc. The only thing is all my volume automations don't move with it. That really sucks^^ Haven't found a way to move the automations with it, while using reposition from SWS
That's odd. They should. But if they don't, just go to the Options menu across the top, and choose "Envelope Points" form the dropdown. Then make sure there is a check mark next to ""move envelope points with media items and razor edits."
@@HomebrewAudioRecording yeah it is checked indeed. Still the envelope points do not move with the repositioning :/ dont know what the problem is there. Is it supposed to work with the reposition function of SWS?
@@0oTHEJACKo0 Check 1 more thing. Do you have the button in the toolbar selected/turned on? It is in the middle of the bottom row and has a picture of an envelope (triangle shape) and a link under it.
Oh you're right! It does NOT work with Reposition Selected Items from the SWS actions. I'll ask about that on the forum.
@@HomebrewAudioRecording I was wondering if I'm the only one, but good to hear I'm not :D Yeah great idea with the forum
I Installed Reaper 6.49 - but can't find the Auto Trim/Split tool. Does this need an extension ?
Yes. Check here: www.sws-extension.org/
Thanks so much.
Love all your videos and appreciate what an amazing teacher you are BUT I have hundreds of those to pick and "lasso". There's got to be a better way of picking all the pieces on that track.
And while I've got your attention, a second question is if I make all these changes, does it change the video equally once I remove all the spaces and the 3 secs in between?
Thanks! If you double-click on the track control panel, it selects every item on the track. I think that addresses your first question. But I'm not understanding your second question. What is the video you're referring to? And are you trying to "remove" a 3-second space (or however many seconds)? This video was showing you how to insert the exact same amount of space between many audio items on a track. What is it you are trying to do?
@@HomebrewAudioRecording I took an mp4 video inserted it as a new project. Followed your instructions which worked amazingly! I figured out how to save the file as an mp4 but now when I view the video it wasn't saved correctly. The audio is fine but the video has black spaces in between the conversation. So it looks like Render doesn't save the video correctly. :(
@@quantumhealingofthesoul The way Reaper edits video is that any spaces you put into what LOOKS like the audio track (but is actually BOTH the audio and video track) will, by definition, put those spaces into the video, resulting as black spaces (basically nothing). So this particular editing process is not good for video. I think you'd have to use Vegas Movie Studio, or something similar - an actual video editor, as opposed to an audio program like Reaper. Reaper can change volume of audio in a video, and you can REMOVE/trim audio (and the resulting video). You can also add more audio tracks and mix them into the video. But creating spaces won't work here.
@@HomebrewAudioRecording ok, thank you so much. Now that you explain it, it makes sense. I guess I'll have to post the audio without the video. I cannot imagine that the video editor will allow me to do what I just did with Reaper. Thank you for your help! My priority is removing the long pauses between answers during the hypnosis sessions...:)
@@HomebrewAudioRecording I would like to donate to you for the time you've spend helping me! Let me know if there's any place I can do so. I couldn't find anything on your website. Thank you!
