    In theory, I like the "save project every __ minutes," but sometimes I'll be experimenting, and I don't want to save the changes. I know that I can just x out of the project without saving. What I did was kept the "save project" button, and put it in the upper left. Whenever I want to save my work up to that point, I just click that button. Every time I add something, I click that button. It's quick.
    I love this content, though! Great stuff!!!

    Hi folks! New Reaper user here. I’ve tried a few DAWs and I like Ableton’s MIDI functions to be the best/most intuitive. However, Ableton is very expensive lol. Is there a way to change how Reaper’s MIDI works?
    For instance, in Ableton, clicking once will add a note the same length as the note previously selected. Clicking and holding will allow you to either move a note, or select a group of notes, depending on what you click on. And the D-pad will move the note - ie, pressing the up arrow will make an A into an A#, pressing the right arrow will move the note from the first beat to the second beat in the measure, etc.

    • @PodPeak
      @PodPeak  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can probably do all that in Reaper by creating custom actions and/ or mouse modifiers. Keep looking for tutorials on TH-cam. There’s some good ones.

    If I want to render a part of a track silent, is there a quick key for that? For instance, I have three audio tracks for a podcast and while one person is speaking, another one sniffs a lot and I just want to take the whole section where he isn't speaking and highlight and make is silent. Is there a way to do that without having to split the track and lower the volume?

    • @PodPeak
      @PodPeak  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there is, but it’s probably better to clean up the audio in the edit. Search Kenny Gioia videos for removing silence and rendering

    I don't know if this makes any sense after going through it wen by smoothly except none of my tool bars are not working. I was trying to use the snap tool. I have png. files on one track. When I was trying to snap one png the rest of the png went with it. And now when I click once nothing happened. I can't find the piano roll midi editor which I use a lot. Before I click a midi track twice the midi editor would pop up in place so i can see the music notation. Now thats gone can you help me. I'm not good with words so I hope this makes sense

    • @daviddahl8562

      I found it I was randomly trying different shortcut keys I think it was I typed Opt. + Cmnd + E and the the midi editor popped up

  • @daviddahl8562
    @daviddahl8562 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    following this step by step really messed up my reaper some of the shortcut keys screwed things up like tool bars don't work and such the snapping tool
    bar went crazy trying to copy and paste and move stuff in a track is way out of whack. I thought about resetting back to factory settings but I know that can be a very bad idea. When I click on any of the tool bars nothing happens. This is nobody's fault but my own. So I am not blaming you for it. This is why I get a bit nervous on changing shortcut keys.

    No shortcut for metronom on off? Reaper is not userfriendly like cubase. İm not used to it... And start end markers is confusing!!!!

      @@ranajoyshil Yes! Exactly i mean that. You need to assign/change a lot of things... İm too old for that for me it is annoying.

    This is a screenshot video I made of an issue I'm having. I hope this makes sense to you. I have chord diagrams in a track. I click the very first chord and drag it to the left and the rest of the chords drags with it I can not drag them separately. I deleted a chord just to show you what happens when I drag and drop a chord int that spot the other chords move away.This just started happening when I started messin' around with the shortcut keys and have no idea what I did wrong except not paying attention. Now I don't know how to fix it. I hope I explained this to you properly. And I really hope you can help me with that it would be most appreciated. th-cam.com/video/iXnpBcvJqag/w-d-xo.html
