      His videos are very helpful. It’s just really hard for me to watch his videos because of his cadence when he speaks. It’s like 3 words…2 words….4 words….3 words…2 words…2 words…4 words. It’s just hard to listen to someone have that many pauses in their speech. I wish it wasn’t so bothersome to me because he does have a lot of helpful videos

      Definitely an A+ in terms of content. The disjointed pausing every 2-3 words makes it extremely difficult to stay engaged though, and I see I'm not the only one to think that.

    I too want to thank Kenny Gioia and all contributors to Reaper. Bought my license. I (kind of) used Cakewalk Sonar more than anything as a hobby but probably jumped ship recently, finding Reaper very intuitive, drawing from my past, while very powerful for my future. I love the community involvement and Reaper's embracing of it.

    I've hardly touched my Cubase since getting Reaper. So glad I'm able to go back to older versions because a couple of my third party plugins were not working in version 7.8. I learned recording on analog equipment at college in 1979, but didn't stick with it because I always preferred performing. Been with Reaper for a few years and still learning as I go, but I've gotten so much further than I did with Cubase. Love your tutorials!

    @LekkerDops 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I switched to Reaper from Pro Tools 3 years ago. I love Reaper, and Kenny is the man in Reaper. The best videos by a mile, his knowledge is quite amazing.
    Reaper is far more stable than Pro Tools, and installation is straight forward, no iLok thank God.
    I just invested in SSL UF8 , UC1, UF1 SSL12 hardware consoles, and after trying so hard to use that incredibly powerful console digital and analogue system, they didn't integrate enough with Reaper, so it's not very useful, and the workflow is seriously laggy and full of dead buttons and dials that do nothing and cannot be programmed. Defeats the purpose of having the hardware.
    As an experiment, I reinstalled ProTools and connected SSL gear. The integrations are worlds apart and although in the box, I prefer Reaper, but with the lack of hardware integration by manufacturers like SSL not taking Reaper seriously enough, I have to go back to Pro Tools.

    •  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure this works with SSL hardware but have you tried to use Mackie MCU protocol or one of the existing extensions (CSI, Drivenbymoss...) that work with controllers and allow to customize them ?

    • @LekkerDops
      @LekkerDops 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Tokolele I did a lot of reading on that as I didn't want to go back to Pro Tools at all. It ended up being a rabbit hole with few real world fixes, and honestly took too much time away from actually making music.
      I'm hoping SSL does more with Reaper so I can back to it, I miss it. But right now, the gap is way too large with the lack of hardware integration with SSL. Thanks for suggesting it though

    I like your unagitated, orderly way of explaining things, combined with clear, simple on-screen presentation. It's such a nice change from the regular "wow, boom, explosion, red arrow here :OOOO, fact 2 will shock you" youtube crap that is so popular today and brings the clicks. Your viewer numbers show that there is another way of doing things if you focus on the actual topic and simply produce great content with information that actually helps and corresponds to the video title without being clickbait. I tip my hat to you, Sir. Greetings and best wishes from Germany.

    Thank you so much for your excellent Reaper videos. Is there some way of saving mixer fader positions with a project so that you don't have to readjust them on reloading the project? Mine always fall below where they were when I was working on the project. Seems a strange omission by Cockos. Likewise, playback after recording always changes the fader position. How can I bypass the first slot plugins on multiple tracks simultaneously in Reaper? Specifically, I am working with ten tracks, and each one has a unique saturation plugin in the first slot. I need to bypass all these first-slot plugins in one action, regardless of their brand or type. Furthermore, it's crucial that this action only affects the first slot plugins, even if the same plugin type appears in a different slot in the FX chain on these tracks. Is there a method in Reaper to selectively bypass only the first slot plugins across multiple tracks without affecting other instances of the same plugins in different slots?

    I updated to Reaper 7 but my layout still looks like the old one. It looks nothing like Kenny's above. Any idea why????

    In my opinion, Reaper has missed by a mile the biggest advantage of its infinitely programmable interface by offering the program as a clean sheet project for its users. I’ve always felt it should be offered in pre-programmed modules with the ability to be infinitely customized rather than an infinite toolbox that does nothing at all. The modules should be fully capable of operations users will need, such as DAW operations of record, playback, and edit. Most potential users I know are blocked by this ‘unfinished’ feel of the software.
    The biggest offender becomes obvious when scrolling through a few of the menus. Rather than seeing some reasonable quantity of pertinent actions, they are confronted with endless lists of micro choices and settings that accomplish nothing toward the goal of operation as a DAW. An analogy is the difference between a dictionary and a thesaurus. Offering fully functioning modules with the ability to be highly customized as needed is in my opinion the goal of Reaper. At this, the program falls flat on its face.

    Excellent program that looks like it was made 10 years ago.

      Actually 19 years ago. A lot younger than most DAWs tbh.

    Hold up.. excellent work, but I have to say. You, as well as others, have proven. All DAW does the same thing.
