I worked in the Film Editing department on this and was happy to have a picture of me holding the Oscar in the Producers kitchen circa 1995 🏆😅🎬🏴😎🌠
@@TS-1267 thanks but it's a all bit Billy Wilder who apparently once said about awards (in the movie industry) 📽️ 'They are bit like piles; everybody gets'em !' 😭😊😅🤭🎬
Thank you so much for your upload. I like it so much. Even or special cause it's crazy. I'm glad Peter Capaldi won the oscar. He's a very talented man.
The version I read in high school referred to him as a "gigantic vermin," and there was even a section in the back which claimed "insect" was much too literal for Kafka's intention.
Whom else, came here straight after watching Peter Capaldi's visit on, 'The Graham Norton Show'? Well... what's _your_ opinion of this short, yeah or nah? 😁
Obviously it doesn't have the emotional depth of Marvel superhero movies or the amazing CGI pixels of Dune but I'm a simpleton who enjoys German expressionist cinema and the works of Franz Kafka so I found it entertaining.
Peter Capaldi won the Oscar for writing and directing this
He won several awards for this including his Oscar and a BAFTA.
Well done Peter Capaldi, a lovely bit of dark comedy that even Hollywood appreciated.

Needs a film restoration and better film distribution

Sharpener guy giving salad fingers and old gregg vibes. Peter Capaldi soooo ahead of his time!
Priceless; really does put a new dimension on the original Kafka story!
Just heard about this on Peter Capaldi's interview on Kathy Burke's podcast. I liked it.
me too!
This is a very funny film. Full of drama and pathos and a happy ending too! They should ask Peter to direct Dr Who.

Correct. The original German word 'Ungeziefer' suggests vermin or something fit for sacrifice.
Anyone else here because of Graham Norton?

Personally, I'm totally _obsessed_ with the models & sets they've created in this short! They're honestly just _so_ simple & yet super effective.💕😁
I clicked on “1 Reply”. Didn’t expect it to be you replying to yourself. I’m watching it now at 3:30 in the morning. I’ll report back.
Personally I was sold when I saw the guy in the banana costume. I’m a sucker for the absurd. So it’s a yeah from me.
Given that Burton's christmas came in 1993... it's a maybe.

😳 very absurd but a good make ☺️
nightmarish and kafkaesque
lol
Why did it got an Óscar?
Because it brilliantly blended a famous Christmas movie with a very dark short story by one of the most famous modernist writers of the 20th century.
Deez nuts
This!? Won and Oscar? Not very interesting and a bit silly.
Thanks for posting!!!!

Still Withnail, eh?
That's some mileage.
