IIRC the first season was meant to simply be a recreation of the UK version, which is probably why michael was a lot less sympathetic and the whole atmosphere was duller. I wouldn't be surprised if the lighting change was intentional. They could've easily dimmed the lights down to match s1 if they wanted to.
I think the biggest change in Michael’s character is in his very last episode, where he schedules his going away party for the day after his departure. The old Michael Scott would’ve definitely wanted to make a bigger deal of him leaving Dunder Mifflin. In season 3 when he applied for the corporate job, he planned a big speech over some music as he exited the building. When he quits and starts his own paper company, he also makes a big speech as he’s kicked out by Charles Miner. But in his last episode in season 7, he instead focuses on giving back to his coworkers to give them each a proper goodbye. He realizes that he doesn’t need to have a grandiose moment for all his coworkers to see, and that each of the smaller moments and interactions he has with his coworkers have just as much, if not more meaning.
One of the best things Michael Scott ever did to show how much he's grown as a person was finally realizing how terrible a person Todd Parker is and dumping him as a friend
I can't put it in other way than to say it was a great pleasure to be on this journey with Michael. Since start, i fell in love with him, he was never a bad person, he just not did know how to get the love he always felt he needed and watching him grow like that was amazing. ❤ he will always be my favorite caracther
Season 2 episode 3: office Olympics Jim: "filled out the expense report and closed two sales over lunch, so about as productive as any other day" or something like that. Also Jim and Dwight invented a new person because of their high sales
Michael Scott's character ultimately changes from season 1 because of the 40 year old virgin. With the success of the 40 year old virgin there was a pivot to mike more of Andy Stitzer's character. You can find more from the office's podcast.
I think the reason Micheal is the worst in season 1 is because he’s not Micheal Scott yet he’s more David Brent from the uk version. After the first season they got more freedom and Micheal became his own character
This is a very interesting look at Michael, but there is a factor you missed, namely that of the influence of Packer upon Michael. Seeing how much Michael admired AND DEFENDED Packer, one can see to what degree Michael tried to emulate Packer. Just saying.....
Watch the Office again, thinking that both Michael and Dwight KNOW they are entertaining the audience and you will see the show through different eyes. I theorize that Michael is incredibly smart and an amazing salesman. Many of his actions are solely because he is on TV and he knows what he can get away with and keep his job. In fact, he is such a good salesman he knew that quitting had little impact on him because he could literally steal away a large percentage of the company's clients. He was smart enough to look sympathetic to the audience during the Jan breakup, he could see though Dwight and Andy, did practically no work but kept his job as boss because he was an amazing salesman, knew Jim and Pam were top employees, etc. He acted awful to entertain the cameras, because being a celebrity was where the money really was. At times he shows "self awareness" with Jim and Dwight, giving the audience a glimpse into the fact that he is manipulating the entire situation.
Hey 10k! I want to know how much cartman is worth from south park he has run many businesses ass burger crack baby basketball he got 1 mill from his grandma please make a vid about it he bought his own amusement park he has everything he wants
i'm still mad the US version of the office isn't on UK netflix, when american shows that have british versions (like Rupaul's Drag Race) are on netflix, the UK version of the office isn't funny to me..
@@wyattcrosby9558 one of the most defining pieces of evidence is when Scott says he didn't speak until he was 5 years old. Another piece of evidence is his complete lack of social awareness. Countless other examples...
lol so based on the comments am i the only one who liked michael in season one/earlier seasons? as the show progressed, i started to dislike michael. i’m currently on season 7 having a hard time finishing the series because I literally can not stand him.
What should I talk about next? Comment it here!
Do The Anatomy of Gumball Watterson.
Do a video on how much debt Jake Peralta is in
Anatomy of Butters
Another Ryan Howard video
Maybe a Princess Carolyn net worth would be cool
There is also a change in lighting and coloration, which really brings more brightness to the show from the second season onward.
Dhruv Bala I think that was because they moved from a building to a full set with nice lighting not too sure tho

Yes I noticed that too
That’s partly down to budget though, and of course choice to get a little further away from the mockumentary vibe

Gotta admit I was close to turning on Micheal before that but I loved when that happened.
I agree
I always felt like Micheal was kinda showing out because of the cameras but he learned his actions have consequences.
"She's one sassy black lady!" i missed that, when i saw the episode😂😂
You made a mistake, Holly is not engaged when she returns in season 7.
Whoops. Dating
Liza Szilágyi was literally just about to say that
I mean it’s a smaller distinction. Either way it means she’s unavailable and requires him to grow.
His stomach is filled with fillet o fishes
God, how many number nines did you order?
10K Productions that’s over several months
At the beginning when he was saying that Micheal was missing.... I thought he was going to say hair and not sympathy
@Bryan Mire I dont have kids

Thanks for this.
Thanks for watching!
10K Productions my pleasure to watch. Long time viewer - I saw it since the pilot was on NBC☮️
That demonetization alert scared the hell out of me but was also funny
Season 2 episode 3: office Olympics
Jim: "filled out the expense report and closed two sales over lunch, so about as productive as any other day" or something like that.

Micheal was like a kid who started to grow up through out the show
When he leaves it's like he's going to college.
Or when they stopped to inspire him at the english version we talk of diffrent people

Michael was out of control and absolutely hilarious in season 1.
How broke is Ricky? (Trailer Park Boys)
it's either he's super-rich or super broke there's no in-between
“Smokes, Let’s Go.”
"I've got 3,000 dollars, fuck boys, I'm retired. I can't be stealing shopping carts anymore"
Who else is watching this with The Office playing in the background?
I saw where it ended, I didn't see where it started.

Do The Anatomy of Louise Belcher.
I just realised that Michael uses the word "lover" a lot😅🤣

How much is Robert E. O. Speedwagon from JoJo’s bizarre adventure worth?
Hes priceless
How much is jerry or Beth from Rick and Morty is worth?
Jerry is worthless
A better question might be Rick, because there's no way you can do all that Rick has done just in the course of the show with no money.
Can you do one on Wilfred? The American version preferably but Australian is cool too
For some reason I thought you meant “The Anatomy Of Michael Reeves” and that you were gonna be literal.
Im so early have no idea what to comment.
That’s okay
Yeah man
I was expecting a literal autopsy, or at least an explanation of his brain makeup, not a character analysis.
I miss him
