The problem with 2 point is people putting the second point too far forward. It can get in the way of mag reloads. Also, the closer the points are the easier it will be to get it out the way if you need.
I hate how people who aren’t in the military or are private contractors repeat wht others say. There are many who run single point slings and many who run 2 point slings. Its all on the shooter.
Would use the zip ties around the whole hand guard or smaller zip ties around the mlok openings. For the charging handle, ambi are great - for the emergency option of your down to a single arm or to use an object to help charge your rifle. You ALWAYS want to keep your dominant hand on the grip/trigger guard in case you needed to engage. Last observation, when able try out / think about a 2 pt sling. Reason, if you needed to pick something/someone up and you let your rifle hang, you’re going to rack yourself or beat the hell out the person/thing you’re trying to drag clear. Or bang the crap out the rifle / yourself if climbing/moving over objects. But hey man, welcome to AR world and enjoy!
I have 2 of this same AR and got my dad one a couple Christmas ago.they are great starting guns.like you said you can upgrade as you go and still be under a grand.mine are setup couple different ways but they both have a La Rue trigger($100) and a micro best BCG,still looking at barrel upgrade the stock still shoots fine.i like the magnetic or stealth recoil springs also.Radical does have a lifetime warranty also if you ever have issues you can’t fix that’s nice.
I have tried different magnifiers and they all pretty much have shorter eye relief. Nice looking gun. I'd pretty much just run it and learn it then make upgrades. Adjustable gas block, buffer weight, spring, muzzle brake. I'm big on lessening recoil first.
@@TheAverageFather I don't see the use for strobe. The possibility of needing constant and strobing on accident is my main reason. I prefer the simplicity of high only on any weapon light rifle/pistol.
Check the staking on the castle nut and I would upgrade the bcg with a good quality one. Newer AR owners do not understand you get what you pay for on a lot of them. Mainly in barrels, bcg, and materials. Yes a shoot every once in a while rifle will work at $300. Take it to a two day class and shoot 1000k rounds and the gremlins will show themselves
If you find yourself moving the stock too much, move the magnifier forward. You have a few pic slots to do so. If worse comes to worst move the red dot forward and re-zero. Looks like yours is as far as I'd go with it though, perhaps a different red dot mount to give it a bit more forward bias so that the magnifier can move closer to it. This will allow you to position the stock in the perfect position for you. It can be cumbersome doing this, especially after thinking you have it just right, but it is what it is. If you want triggers, Geissele having a Blem sale for 4th of July through the 9th. Got me some SSA-E X lightning bow triggers for "cheap." The SSA-E is only 122$!
I do have a geissle trigger i talk about later in the video I love it. However, great tip about moving the stock. I should just bite the bullet and move it. It is cumbersome but like you mentioned, it is what it is.
thats funny I have the exact same rifle and set up a few differences I have back up Irons, no magnifier, different vertical grip, and mine came with a MFT stock but overall good rifle I love mine
I need to get back up irons. I forgot to talk about that. It’s definitely on the agenda. I left my dot on and I could barely see it, irons are a must. Thanks for watching!
I bought these components for the buffer and the twang went away. Bought a spikes tatical spring( micro polished ) and a spikes tatical 4oz crushed tungsten powder buffer weight. My radical shoots like a dream now but it also has the rave 140 trigger installed. Got these items from optics planet. Spikes Tactical Buffer Spring, Mil-Spec 17-7 Micro Polish, Stainless Steel, SLA501S Spikes Tactical Heavy Tungsten Carbine Buffer, Crushed Tungsten/Mil-Spec Bumper, 4 oz. RISE Armament OpticsPlanet Exclusive RAVE 140 Flat
@@TheAverageFather a lot of times I’ll take the sticker the rifle comes with & put it on buffer tube as well. More premium rifles don’t have the issues but I run cheaper ones for range toys & my high dollar ones for duty & qualifications
@@TheAverageFather got ya,I heard you say you change the grip.i was assuming from the stock and what you said about the grip angle,it came with that stock high angle grip with the finger bump.
That one point sling will turn your gun into a Luisville Slugger and it will treat your balls as balls. I suggest a 2 point quick adjust sling .
You know, that may finally be the comment that convinces me to switch lol

Learn how to be conscious and aware of your balls it wont happen.

Radicals are great 🇺🇲made rifles, I have north of 2,500 rounds through mine with zero issues.
"knock on wood".
Great rifle, have fun, and stay safe.
I recommend the UUQ rifle optics coming with both red/green dot, green laser, magnifier, and light. Adds weight but comes with all the attachments.
Thanks for the recommendation I’ll check it out.
@@TheAverageFather Don’t buy a UUQ optic man, there Chinese garbage. What you have is much more superior. Nice setup.

I did try the small zip ties around the mlok first. Great point about the 2 point sling. Thanks for the thoughtful advice.
IT'S LIKE A SORE PETER, IT CAN'T BE BEAT.
My first AR-15 as well and I was gonna say "My first rifle" until you said it as I was typing 😭📝
Lovely rifle :)

That’s great to know about the warranty. I appreciate the feedback. Glad you like your upgrades.

Well that’s good to know about the magnifiers. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it.
Lube up that buffer spring. It will sound a lot better.
Great advice. Thank you!
I'd recommend programming the streamlight to high only. Their ten tap program is fairly easy to use
How come?

Gas tube probably wasn’t installed right from factory. I always double check my gas tube, block & screws.
Thanks for the tip!
Shaffer machine makes a mount for that pressure pad. I use it and think it's a great product

Use a pressure pad mount or metal zip ties. I personally don’t run them but I see why ppl like them.

How you feel about the weight on it? I looked at Radical & it had to weigh about 8lbs.

Steel mags in case you're still curious :P
Add tape on top of buffer tube it will stop it from making noise
