Picked up my Radical Forearm RF-15 last month, took it apart and oiled. I have had it at the range 3 times. No malfunctions through 3 types of mags. Fired both 223 and 5.56 with no issues. Great rifle for the price. It's my new Fun Gun. 👍
Had feeding issue with my RF-15 out the box, took it home cleaned and oiled it went back to range haven’t had any issues yet. I’ve ran brass and 75g green tips through it and it runs fantastic. Love mine. I have steal mags and p-mags
Just got out to the range yesterday and shot my Radical AR for the first time. Using the included mag and 5 magpul gen 2 mags with Winchester 55gr 5.56. Shot all 6 mags without a single malfunction. Cycled perfectly every time. I think all of the problems you had in this video was due to the lesser quality ammo. After I got my red dot zeroed in at 36 yards it was shooting groups about the size of my palm, and that's coming from a newbie in terms of shooting.
Putin's revenge, cheap shit/inferior ammo. I'm staying well away from steel case. All my AR mags are MAGPUL. I have to check the "Iron" AR sights I bought for my SW AR, but never used (has an optic on it) Not sure if they're plastic or metal, but they ARE MAGPUL. Hopefully I'll pick up my Rad AR tomorrow; it's an RPR. There's an RDR & RHR or something? I'm new to RAD's stuff, & thought the RDR or the "H" (?) model was better based on limited research. PRICE, it was on SALE, & availability were key factors. Sticking with my go to Gun Store in town, I saved the shipping & FFL fee. Still had to pay the tax to the sleazeball Governor; oh well.
113 yards yesterday with my new rf15 16in barrel , nothing but a cheap centerpoint 1-4x20 scope and I had under 1 moa . About 3/4th of an inch group at 113 yards . I outshot everybody else there with 1000-1500$ AR’s . I do have serious training under my belt as a 24 yr old , but train and practice is all you need to get my skill set . Radicals are good in my book
I had the same cycling issue when I got my rf15 I suspected a gas issue. So I swapped out the BCG and no longer has cycling issues. The issue was in fact the gas key leaking on the BCG. Contacted radical. Had a new BCG in a matter of a couple days. Haven’t had an issue since. They were very easy to work with and no questions asked sent me a new one. I’ve put about 1500 rounds through the new BCG and no issues.
I've got the same rifle. I have put around 300 to 400 rounds through it so far. Any brass ammo shoots well. No jams. Tula steel will have some failure to extract at around 80 rounds. I have not changed any internal parts. It will run fine with any mags I’ve used.
If you wanna run steel, try polishing the chamber. I had a cheap AR that was getting stuck steel cases and I polished the chamber, never had another issue.
I just got one a few days ago. Took it home cleaned and oiled it before taking it to the range. Im glad I did because I find any signs of any kind of lubricant anywhere. It’s the first gun I have bought without any kind of oil or grease from the manufacturer.
I switched out the mag the RF15 came with for some Lancers and BOY HOWDY did it fix the problem. Zero feeding issues now. The mag RF makes is absolutely dreadful.
I run M95 and M88 Brass in my Magpul Gen 2 magazines. Over 2000 rounds so far in my RA AR-15 and the only problem I've had is some bad primers in some Winchesters so... all in all a great rifle for the price (Paid $450.00) for my Radical RF 15.

Good rifle for the price. Out of the box I had failure to eject. Sent it back to Radical firearms for repair. Got it back same issue. I took it apart and found that the gas rings were over sized. Put in a a different BCG, problem solved. I did change the gas rings on their bcg, now it works properly.
The RF 15 I got has a 3lb trigger :) Edit: I had the same issue with RF15 with failures to cycle. I took to the gun shop I purchased it from and they kindly fixed it for me for free since I bought it as new. Had to do some paper work for it, but it was certainly better than paying anything to fix it. After I got it fixed, it was THE BEST weapon I fired :)

I’ve never had a failure to cycle. Great rifle, brand and QC. BTW… There was a printed note in the paperwork that warned against steel case ammo..
I never seen this gun do that in any video or for me. Was suppressed. I run steel case bullets all the time never jammed. But when I first got it I ran brass and it never jammed then later on ran the steel.
Bought the Radical RF a few days ago. I haven’t fired it yet but found out the mag won’t “lock in” to the gun. I’ve replaced the mag. I tore the gun down to inspect and clean. It’s obviously been fired at least once. Small about of carbon on the firing pin. Bolt scratched. I’m trying to not let that bother me. Bought this new from Dunham sports. I hope it breaks in better than yours did.
Ive had my RF15 for a solid year now. Its got 1k tula steel through it and 2k rounds of brass. The steel case was randomness. I could go out and shoot 150 rounds amd not have one issue, next outing it would fail to extract almost every mag. Id have to drive the case out with a claening rod. No problems from brass.
@@ms1406 my extractor was ripping the rim of the case off every time. Not sure the extractor spring would fix that. 2k rounds of pmc xtac not one problem though
Im pretty sure somewhere on the website or in the user manual, Radical suggests not using steel case ammo. I could be wrong and might be thinking of another gun, but generally, all my radical ever eats is M855 and occasionally 55gr .223s, (through standard-cap Pmags, steel mags, and windowed mags) and ive never had a hiccup.
I've ran steal case threw it an it was fine polylacker steal case is the best in my opinion for ar but I've only read the manual an it said no 223 rem other then that any 223 or 556 is fine as long as it's not 223 rem yr fi e from what I've learned

How to tell anyone looking at these if you can afford better get better. I got a DPMS and a Delton almost 20 years ago and they eat steel case for breakfast I swapped the lowers back and forth with the uppers and they still function 100%.
I would 100% swap out the BCG on this rifle. From working on several radicals and owning one myself you really cant shoot steel case with the stock configuration. You may notice that there is a lot of gas coming from the bolt area, this is due to the gas key on the BCG. A lot of cheaper rifles will have this issue.
If the key is leaking you can remove it, polish it on a perfectly flat surface, put some loctite 620 sleeve retainer compound on it and re-install. Saw that trick on school of the American rifle, a great qualified gunsmith and AR armorer. His channel is great.
Just got an RF-15. Only around 100 - 120 rounds through it. No malfunctions running 556, BUT did experience some of these “ejecting but not feeding” issues on 2 mags of 223. I am guessing it is due to under gassing with the 223 ammo, but it would only happen on a small handful during the first 5 rounds of the mag. After that everything was fine. Just seems that either the gas doesn’t like 223 or the mag doesn’t like 223. 556 is perfect which would make sense as it is rifled in 556 NATO
Just put a deposit on one myself, it was on sale for $499, with taxes $532 and that's just an incredible price I spent over $600 for my Ruger AR and that was on sale and considered a budget rifle lol, don't have any complaints on my Ruger AR except it was getting lonely so I simply had to get it a little brother 🤣😂, from all the reviews on the RADICAL FIREARMS 15DSR-M4 5.56 I think I'll be happy
Just came across you channel, not sure why just now lol. Great video. My radical has been great. My 5.56 has been good. My 7.62 Radical actually hates brass lol
I got that same model radical AR-15 the first 30 rounds out of the metal magazine I had got a few jams but after that magazine I have yet to have any malfunctions steelcase or brass

Then as soon as you said you would change to brass.. I knew it run and run well because every other radical video I have seen that thing runs good. Over all, good job!

If this was a drinking game I would be blasted for every time he mentions his Delton DTI. I don’t think you are supposed to mention a competitive product so many times during a review. 😂
Plus for those that don’t believe me that the steel ammo has less gunpowder, buy some brass ammo, and buy some scale and weigh them out. You’ll be shocked at the results.
Brass is heavier than steel if youre just weighing the entire cartridge And different kinds of smokeless powder require less weight to achieve a specific pressure and pressure curve 30gr of 3031 is VERY different from 30gr of 4064

I have a radical it does not shoot steel casings they’re barrels are bored out smaller than those steel casings. You can run brass threw them all day not like a AK where you can spray just about anything out of those fuckers and it’ll chew
My Diamondback and ATI Milsport ( all metal ) do not like steel case ammo…I can’t use steel in those ….my Radical and Anderson have no issues ….all I buy is brass…isn’t worth the hassle
I recommend it I have 2 they work great steel case and all but 1 I had some trouble with my bcg but it was a easy fix I think the firing pin was off spec so put another one in and it also ran great.
I have one and I love it. I shoot brass and only had one malfunction very early like less than 50 rounds in. Now it's 1000 rounds in. The Radical Firearms love grease, and the BCG and recoil spring will be happy as pigs in the mud if it's greased heavily. It runs like butter when I use Hoppes black grease, and any good gun grease will do. I might try to shoot cheaper steel cases to see if it will run those since I am past that break in period and I'll le t you know.
I learned A LOT from the comments below and OF COURSE from this vid. I bought my RAD RPR based on positive comments. I have to revisit the different models beside the RPR. #1 reason for the misfires/jams? Cheap sh*t Rooskie bas*ar* -putin ammo. NO intentions of buying this crap. I recall ages ago firing blanks thru an M16 (real deal) when I was in the USAF, on an exercise. I'd blame the rounds not being of a consistent load, not enough gas generated to work the BCG. I was clearing jams. misfires, failure to battery, and whatever else you call it...maybe some stovepipes? We used the std. MILSPEC mags, aluminum, yes?. Could be repeating some "terms". We used the std. MILSPEC mags. What model Colt AR we had is beyond me now, but it didn't have the forward assist, SURE as HE*L needed it. Yeah, it was like firing a bolt action. But I hope it's NOT the BCG. The MAGPUL sights weren't for precision shooting? I thought you were saying that about the cheap no-name plastic sights you bought on EBAY (or Amazon?)? Do those things actually, truly, 100% perfectly fall inline w/each other? Windage? Holding the gun rock solid steady? I'm debating whether to fire mine stone cold tomorrow when I pick it up, or play nice & first take it apart, clean & lube it. If the store will "quick mount" some iron sights I have, just might go for it. Have got everything else I need. BTW. HAPPY New Year to y'all. (Happy NY to me too). Happiness is a WARM GUN.
Seems to me this rifle is gassed low, so it will eat most brass 5.56 and eject around 4 o'clock. Then by trying to run weak powered steel it's just not pushing the bcg rearward far enough to chamber the next round, or lock open on empty. I think this is why many companies build their budget AR's over-gassed..... So people shooting cheap under-powered ammo don't keep sending the rifle back because it won't cycle crappy ammo. Wonder what is wrong with the Remington ammo that Radical says not to use it??
Picked up my Radical Forearm RF-15 last month, took it apart and oiled. I have had it at the range 3 times. No malfunctions through 3 types of mags. Fired both 223 and 5.56 with no issues. Great rifle for the price. It's my new Fun Gun. 👍

Any play between the upper and lower receivers?
Nope
If this was a drinking game I would be blasted for every time he mentions his Delton DTI. I don’t think you are supposed to mention a competitive product so many times during a review. 😂
Youll live lol
Ironically, my base mag did better than any other mag i bought for my rf-15, havent had a jam or hangup but of course, thats my own experience.
Generrally RF AR’s don’t cycle weak steel case ammo because they are properly gassed.
Bro. they sold you a lemon. My RF shot everything right out of the box.
Mine has shot everything I’ve tried just fine. I put a drop in trigger and it shoots like a $1,500 rifle.
What drop in did you buy?
Plus for those that don’t believe me that the steel ammo has less gunpowder, buy some brass ammo, and buy some scale and weigh them out. You’ll be shocked at the results.
Brass is heavier than steel if youre just weighing the entire cartridge
And different kinds of smokeless powder require less weight to achieve a specific pressure and pressure curve
30gr of 3031 is VERY different from 30gr of 4064
Usually a feed issue is with the magazine.
Once broken in they are fine. My socom shoots m193 beautifully
B5 Is soooo worth it!
i have the rifle i believe the owners manual and or website recommends not to use steel case or reloaded ammo
They all do, its a liability
@@theblindsniper9130 that adds up in case you measure your powder wrong and steel is cheaper and less quality than brass
🤔watching first video

Hell yeah, welcome to the party! I bet you have some amazing stories
Anyone know what type of bird that was? Man that was loud and sounded huge
Peacook i think
Yeah that's Kevin his peacock
Definitely a peacock. We had neighbors that had multiple peacocks& guineas. Very loud, when ya got 3,or 4 going,🙄. Often wondered what they would taste like,🤔😉
I have the exact same rifle but mine always cycles not sure what’s wrong with yours
It works better at the end of the video
@@theblindsniper9130 I saw that I do have an a2 stock with a rifle buffer on mine witch might make it cycle better not sure
Needs break-in.
Rock on pawpaw
NEVER HAD A ISSUE HAD MINE 3 YEAR THIS IS HILARIOUS
Ive never had a problem with the sam gun
10:32, the sound of a VERY dry chamber getting grinded down.. .. yikes.
Oh yeah run steel keep it super lubed
I think his malfunction was coming from the magazines those magazines work but isn’t compatible to the rifle.
Fast forward to the end of the video
Oh yeah Kevin screaming shoot it
Got one in laway changing it for a m&p
You would think after the 4th or 5th failure you'd want to try different ammo. ARs are generally not loose like AKs, not built to eat garbage.
If it cant run steel, it doesnt deserve brass
Bro you can even shot accurate even with those iron sights
It needs to be clean and oil up first always
Laughs in Daniel defense
I use a rear squeeze bag and a rolled up jacket to shoot groups with. It works about as well as a lead sled, and it's a way cheaper set up.
still think i may avoid a radical. My AR started life as a dpms and has always run flawlessly.Thats all we used at the nuke plant alongside of bushmasters.
Use brass says in instructions do not use Steel ammo
Got mine off gun broker with a lvpo scope $575
This is my first rifle can you make a video or link a video for the best accessories to pair with the firearm. Also is it better to have 300black out or 5.56 NATO
th-cam.com/video/GJIBcYmW0IA/w-d-xo.html
I have a radical it does not shoot steel casings they’re barrels are bored out smaller than those steel casings. You can run brass threw them all day not like a AK where you can spray just about anything out of those fuckers and it’ll chew
radical guns are meant for hot 5.56 ammo. not steel case or any .223 really. that is why you had ejection issues and it not locking all the way back.
Or the gas key wasnt properly fastened
My Diamondback and ATI Milsport ( all metal ) do not like steel case ammo…I can’t use steel in those ….my Radical and Anderson have no issues ….all I buy is brass…isn’t worth the hassle
@@rudyv6100 especially at modern prices
I’ve never noticed it but do they all make that scratching sound when you pull the charging handle it just sounds so rough
Not all, many cheaper ones do when new until they break in. This gun looks bone try too, ARs run best wet.
Grip looks like a hk 416 style
Zero sights, clean, lube and NO Steel Cage Amo 🤣
Your fist size is the size of the hulk
Do you recommend this firearm ?
Reason I ask I was thinking of getting one .
I recommend it I have 2 they work great steel case and all but 1 I had some trouble with my bcg but it was a easy fix I think the firing pin was off spec so put another one in and it also ran great.
@@thedude828 I really appreciate the feedback 🙏🏼ordering one 🔥
@@deeone5231 no problem buddy you will enjoy it
No dont buy , buy a anderson is better quality and not much expensive
