    Awesome! This game may not be as deep compared to DMC(No pause combos and lack of basic sword attacks) but it still has fun as hell gameplay

      I agree so hard, the lack of pause combos and basic attack modifiers was a huge mistep. I also feel like they took a few steps backwards with movement in order to make it feel more cinematic, when I kinda feel like movement games and spectacle fighters should eventually conjoin. It's still one of the best spectacle fighters to come out, the sheer amount of quality boss fights and side combat focused content is amazing. I'm excited for that tower to be released eventually as they teased it.

      Once you unlock everything it’s actually pretty deep. Not DMC deep but you can do some amazing combos. Well worth mastering.

      @jerm5466 It's pretty deep but I hate that there is little to do for air combos. I've just been doing Impulse, Heatwave, into Pheonix Dash, Wicked Wheel, and then ending it with an Upheave.

      Because the game need to implement RPG aspect, if you full go spectacle fighter then they can easily make DMC combat, but in order to implement RPG element they need to remove some aspect from spectale fighter

    I wouldn't mind if there was just a bit of actual stagger on the enemy's stagger, just enough to give weight to your blows. I mean, the player will get knocked back and forth by the tiniest things, yet the bosses no matter how small might as well be glued to the floor.

      Yeah I wouldn't mind if they let us juggle the bosses in the air if they got completely staggered.

      I agree, i remember in final fantasy xiii, after staggering an enemy you could juggle them, no matter the size (maybe not all of them but the mayoritie)

      so true bro, i can't stand it when beat them up/action rpg games makes bosses you can't fucking combo. Tales of arise did the same shit, while every other tales games in the existence had feedback when hitting boss. Is that a new things or are they lazy to implement it right?

    When I eventually play the game I really do hope there’s an option to get rid of all those damage numbers. They’re in the way and will get very annoying real fast.

      I thought the similar thing. If such numbers display were optional and gotten rid of at pose menu, gameplaying would be more easy to see.

      I'm hoping this game gets a healthy modding community when its released on PC. Game is amazing but it just needs some QOL mods to push it to legendary tier

    I don't know why I assumed donguri wouldn't play FF16. I miscalculated when I thought Last to Load and Gamebreakergod would be the best at showcasing mechanics. No one touches donguri.

    1:05 The violin section there, along with the sword getting shoved away reminds me of parts of Liberi Fatali and the FF8 opening. Not sure if it was a direct reference, but it's cool all the same.

    i thought donguri would use rift slip since that ability is the most technical ability and very useful for staggered enemies for stalling the stagger

    is crazy combo is still possible? barely found 2 people good at it on twitter, but still not enough air time. the combo is realy amazing though

      Trueblade Seeker has had some nice combo videos. This isn't really a combo video because you can't really combo Benedikta.

      combos are definitely possible against normal enemies, would recommend fighting multiple enemies and using a weak weapon so they don't die though
      against bosses you can't really combo much because they are glued in place

      I like the difference in expression. You can tell that in a 3 step language like EN, the dialogue and delivery relies more on talking down your opponent. In JP as a 2 step the change in delivery and diction reflects a more mastermind approach, like you're cornering someone in a game of shogi rather than verbal bullying. The execution for all language options are actually super high.

      Similar character action concepts. Lots of frame manipulation to guarantee damage and punishes, big rewards for dodge/parry, and emphasis on ability rotation.

    and here i am beating her at level 51 with no damage. just one minute longer than you. the cutscenes are too long and her fighting style, always running and flying are the main factors why her battle took so much time.

      Donguri’s fight is super inefficient here tbh; you can easily skip a phase if you do a proper stagger combo.

      @@kasavaman007 im still using a weapon with 95 atk on my first playthrough, theres honestly no reason to play with the best weapon constantly, unless its a hunting board boss 10 levels above u lmao

    Usually impressed by the way you play other games however this gameplay right here is quite boring, it doesn’t show the full capabilities of the gameplay (although a bit limited compared to DMC). 😢

      half of it was all cutscene and long skill animations, too much of an RPG instead of DMC hack and slash.

    Mm, near the end you use Judgement Bolt before Diamond Dust, but Diamond Dust is better to use first. Will damage stacks the meter more and Diamond Dust does the most, Judgement Bolt does almost none.
    Now, this is just personal preference but I don't think Impulse is very good (too much animation time) and Odin's abilities in general aren't very good, only for building Zantetsuken meter. It's your choice, of course. In this, I am not making a complaint of optimization.
