    Brings back nostalgia of my childhood in a small village farm in the Phils. Used to have 2 soursop trees in our backyard... oh the goodness of fruits come rainy season

    That peel off fruit at the end like jackfruit... we call it MARANG in the Phils. It's overripe already. Best to eat them when a bit firmer.

    Loved your video. Would love to go on this tour. What time of the year did you go on the tour? And do you know when would be the best time for durian? Thanks

    • @ChefQsTravelRecipe
      @ChefQsTravelRecipe  ปีที่แล้ว

      We went in the beginning of October. Lucky for us it was a nice sunny day. I’m not too sure when the durian season is… but durian ripens on the tree and falls on its own. You’ll be really lucky if you get to eat a ripe one. Most of the time the wind blows it down before it even ripens. If you do get a chance to go, be sure it’s the beginning of your stay. So that you can take more fruits to eat. We couldn’t take too many because we only had 2 days to eat it all 😆

    Santol is not a wild mangosteen. They are a different on their own. They have to be eaten when soft and well ripened. The big bangkok thailand are sweet u even wanna eat the small seeds.

    I was hoping to be introduced to new fruits, but those are all the same ones grown here in south Florida, well with the exception of Durian. Durian is available here, but it's imported.

    • @ChefQsTravelRecipe
      @ChefQsTravelRecipe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Florida’s tropical weather is like Vietnam. They have all sorts of fruits there! If you’re from some other states… these fruits on Maui is all new lol

    This is amazing, adding to my bucket list. I saw that you're using a DJI Osmo pocket cam, is that what you used to record this entire tour?

    • @ChefQsTravelRecipe
      @ChefQsTravelRecipe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most of it was recorded on the DJI pocket, but because I was using the wireless mic with it, the battery ran out before I could finish the tour 😂 so there are parts that was recorded with iPhone 11 pro. Recorded on 4K takes up a lot of battery too :(

    I don't understand why this farm tour is so expensive!

    • @ChefQsTravelRecipe
      @ChefQsTravelRecipe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it’s because it’s a private tour. And also you’re on Maui island … a tourist destination. They don’t do too many tours … probably 3-4 per month so it’s is very exclusive. High demand … low supply.

    Do you get to try all the fruits? When is the best time to go and try all those fruits?

    • @ChefQsTravelRecipe
      @ChefQsTravelRecipe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We get to try a lot of the fruits that are in season and ripen to eat! We went in October and the tour guide said it’s actually the best time to go for all the fruits. I’d recommend it being the first thing you do when you get to the island, because you get to pack as much fruit as you want to take back to eat for the rest of your stay on Maui. :)
