Biden didn't have any accomplishments the entire 8 years he was VP. Didn't stop him from clinching the nomination. Critical thinking is exactly how people strayed away from the Democrat message. It's on blast by the vast majority of news media outlets and it's taught at all levels of education. There is no conservative education in high school let alone college and grad school save for a small minority of schools. To stray away from that demonstrates a rejection of the ubiquitous Democrat messaging. Think about it, critically.

Other countries have shorter election cycles as well. In just two years we will start up with the next presidential election for 2028. It is just craziness . And all the unsolicited political texts and emails are beyond annoying as is the constant asking for money. Democrats should have had a short primary (like Clooney suggested), but they didn't because this time they had a good excuse not to have any primary and to just anoint their favourite. Harris was party elite's bingo card candidate: half black, half Asian, and a woman with tough on crime work history. That didn't sell, because those are not important things for the people. DNC has had three times in row a party elite's favourite as the candidate and two of those have lost, and Biden made it only because of covid. Party elite does not really know what they are doing. Unfortunately this is ok for the big money doners and those are who the party elite listens to.

I suspect that the main goal of attracting small dollar donors is not their money but to get them to become mentally invested in in the campaign. The comment wasn't funny, wasn't clear, offered absolutely nothing to the discussion, and fell completely flat, and yet still, a big round of applause.
I'm quite certain there's an orchestrated effort with a crew member and a "clap" or "applaud" message sign flashing at the studio crowd. However, I wonder if the guests are fed or offered set up jokes, or additional punch lines to BM's jokes to keep it light and funny, hence the instructions to the audience to react.
I wonder how far down the roster BM had to go for this week's guests. I'd guess well north of 15 others didn't return their call(s) request or simply "couldn't make it this week".
I'll add this thought as well: What would the panel have looked like this week if Kamala had secured the presidency. Wouldn't Rachel Maddow, Mark Cuban, and DeNiro be a funny collection?
BM wouldn't have needed to call ANYONE. There'd be a line at the studio on Wednesday morning that wrapped around the building four times.

I would like to add a memory of mine regarding Mr. Douglas's dad and his character Spartacus. Being born in the early 60s me and my brother fashioned wooden swords to do battle; after secretly watching Spartacus reruns on KVOS TV.
Most often we would battle who was going to be Spartacus.
After that we joined forces to battle the Romans (our older sister) a few years older than us, who would run away to get the Roman Army (our mom) to rescue her. It seems we could never win against the army (mom), we always got enslaved (more chores like actually washing dishes while standing on stools) as punishment.
Or battles were real sometimes mom had taken me and my brother in for stitches. Dad would roll his eyes and shake his head and wave his finger at us and say there is enough war in the world without you two going at it.
The oldest of us four, our much older brother, was our Secret Amour, made swords out of plywood and gave us old hockey helmets and gloves to wear that were too big. I wonder if the folks ever figured out how we made such good swords?
I found out decades later our armourer put razor thin saw kerfs in the plywood swords so they would break so we could not beat each other to death, so I am told, I thought we were just too strong, like superman that's another story.
The swords that did not break in a timely fashion we ended up with stitches.
The Potato Gun wars were brutal; another story. We wore dads old scratch up safety goggles in the Potato Wars - the Irish vs the English. This VERY much frowned upon as dad was English with roots going back to King Edward the III time frame and mom was half Irish and half Finnish. We often formed a Irish gang to shoot dad with our potato guns, then hid them, then the potato guns disappeared never to return again soon after that.

The US election system is ridiculous…goes on for years and wasted billions of dollars!
I’m Canadian and have never nor will ever donate to a political party.
Once an election is called it’s a matter of months not years until voting day which in my 40+ yrs has never taken more than 10-15 minutes to cast.
I know American loves to maintain tradition and if written by the founding fathers,2nd Amendment!,then it’s gospel.
America…time to make adjustments when something is so obviously fraught with issues.

But the incredibly out of touch, tone deaf democratic party leaders were deadest on Hillary and kneecapped Sanders. When so many people - even on the left were aying she was too unpopular and divisive.
I mean my God, the Clintons overstayed their welcome on the national level long ago, Bill himself helped create NAFTA AND the 2008 housing crisis, etc etc but hubris and ambition blinded them and Hillary from understanding the pulse of the country outside their bubble.
