In the late 1960's, I was in a group of white students from Northbrook, IL, who were taken by school bus after school to tutor black children in the Lawndale, Chicago neighborhood for a couple of years. I was shocked by the poverty. It was gut-wrenching. Five years ago, there was an article in the Chicago Tribune, written by a Lawndale minister who stated that the Lawndale area is a war zone and that the poverty was worse than it had ever been. Why in the heck have we allowed this?

They're not, if they want to keep their high end job, he forgot to add that part. Regular Joe can talk about anything, if it's not on-line, otherwise that gets deleted ASAP China-style, that's that famous US democracy and freedom of speech.
What they mean is that talking about it will get you ostracized in normal circumstances. Talking about these topics or being on the "wrong" side of them in the workplace is not not allowed. Like 90% of my comments get deleted without reason or notification by youtube so literally right here where we are commenting there are tons and tons of things that we are not allowed to say. Cleary all of your opinions are approved ones or you wouldn't have said that.

I feel like media has a lot to do with depression these days, think about it for 80 plus years we have been watching everything in life on tv shows and movies turn out great and its happily ever after in less than 3 hours. Then you get out in the world and realize they don't depict much hard work or sacrifice in movies and tv because its boring and takes up to much tape and commercial air time. Everyone's expectations are out of sync with reality.

Yeah had a friend back in the day where he would put his legs or feet on top of everything including the car dashboard. Not that anybody asked for my opinion. But it use to irritate the s*** out of me.

My dad is 78 years old. He had to lose weight because of his out of control diabete which was causing him kidney on the verge to stop working, In 5 months, he lost 60 pounds. Diabete got under control, liver started to work well again. However, he lost his appetite. Intestinal problems rose up, and lost his muscle mass which made him weaker, more difficulties to walk since meat or eggs makes him vomit and got really saggy skin. Results, It s like he gained 10 years of age in 5 months. So, there is always a price to pay to a magical pill or injection that will make you lose weight.

As a naturally thin person, with no need to even contemplate Ozempic, I'm still nausiated by the TV ads. It seems entirely likely that they named it "Ozempic" simply to fit it into a once popular song that they were able to buy the rights to, for the lowest amount of cash. Using typically unsafe chemicals (which can be patented) instead of electrical frequency methods which can specifically target, to treat health conditions is frankly stupid. The billion $$$ pharma companies have us (and the FDA) by the balls.

Regarding obesity: the reason that there is so much obesity is the FDA allowed all sorts of bad and unnatural foods - along with horrible toxins that hijack your liver and insulin response - to create a situation that fosters obesity. Couple that with antibiotics that destroy the microbiome in your gut that send signals to your brain to stop eating, chemical disruptors called obesogens in food that disrupt hormones, chronic stress (a big factor in fat storage), and the addictive nature of sugar, it’s amazing more people aren’t obese.

My daily life is Prior Authorizations for anti-obesity medications. And since Brandon Fraser's the Whale performance, I have done massive amounts of PAs (prior authorizations) on Anit- obesity meds, (mostly Wegovy and Zepbound), in addition to numerous diabetic meds (Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc). Yes, it is a double edge sword, I have a lot of work doing PAs, but like Bill Maher, never have been married (turning 53 this month). Scary way of life. yes, SSRIs, and such ,...speaking my work language.

I believe much of the weight issue is due to the preservatives in our foods. I personally am not an eater. I have gastrointestinal issues so I don’t really like to eat. I have a very hard time eating 900 calories a day but I continue to gain weight. I am now considered obese. I can’t lose it, I’ve worked out, I’ve dieted…I lose then plateau then gain back twofold. Recently I’ve found that I have empty sella syndrome where my pituitary is flattened and not operating. What caused this?!? I have been given numerous band aides for issues such as low vitamin d and b. High cortisol etc. without looking for the root causes! Frustrating Beyond Words!
