I find it unbelievable that you only have 200k subscribers. You should have 2 million at least. You’re indeed the golden standard when it comes to boardgame video’s. There’s no one better, there’s no one greater ✌🏻
Only Rodney would reupload a video just because of an error. I'm watching the whole thing to the end even though I have watched & understood the rules from the first video because you deserve more views :)
Coincidentally CGP Grey reuploaded one of his videos just last week because of an error - both are very good content creators that care about quality of their content first and foremost.
Another great video as usual! Rodney, your videos are my immediate go to when I am curious about getting a game, or have a new one one I want to learn. Thanks for the great content!
@@WatchItPlayed We played Episode 1 and had a blast! It is such a great couples or family game, as well as for gaming groups! It really helped us to re-watch the video so we could jump right in. :)
As always a great way to know about games. What surprises me is how good Rodney is on trowing the box and always catching it with the cover at facing right 👌🏻
I would say that it's an amazing explanation, but that is your standard, so... I will stay say it! You have been doing amazing job for years and you keep doing it! Thanks a lot for all the work you're doing.
This is one of the best games my wife and I have ever played! It is the only game I know that directly helps the struggling player. That is so genius, because in most games, the person who excels keeps getting farther and farther ahead. Also, it's a ton of fun. I would highly encourage anybody who likes spatial puzzles to try this one out. It's a great game to try out if you're not as familiar with tabletop gaming, too!
Nice run through Rodney! I watched both versions, then watched the update again on another account with my wife - she's insisting we get this now. It looks so relaxing and fun.
At 11:00 you are explaining about how to break a tie. What if one player has the first row full and the second player has only the tree spot empty? An other way of putting it is that is a tree and a rock spot considered a “light green” spot? If so… in your video at 11:00 it would mean that that player has 2 empty green spots? What do you think?
Thanks for the video, quick question though. If a player chooses to stop participating in an episode, do they still score at the end? I am a bit confused by episode 6 - the churches. Cheers.
Hi Rodney! Great video as always;-D Do you think it is soloable? Is there any interaction between players or is it only for scoring? Will I enjoy this playing solo? Thanks!
I haven't played every scenario yet, so it's hard for me to say for sure (part way through a campaign with the family). I always avoid giving personalized recommendations anyway though, because what I like won't necessarily line up with what you'd like.
How would you say final scores are counted at the end of chapter 9 do you count the board with the final buildings on it or off it Were in a tie breaker on my end where depending on weather the pieces are on or off the board when final counting either me or the other wins The entire legacy game, we can't find anything on it
Hey Fortuna, unfortunately, I'm not sure on the answer to that either. I hadn't fully played the entire campaign at the time I recorded this (and still haven't finished... but hope to, family got stalled out playing, but we want to return).
10:50 I've not played yet but I don't understand Reiner's scoring. First gets 2 progress but a (negative effect) rock while 3 and 4th get a (positive effect) tree. Seems like being first includes being penalized? Odd.
I try to avoid weighing into why a rule is the way it is (that's more of a question for the designer), but I assume it's a bit of a balancing mechanic. You are still gaining more victory points, but you'll have an extra challenge to deal with later.
Do you think if we bought this game, and then bought an additional copy, that we could play with eight people? We were thinking of playing with four adults and four teenagers. We were thinking maybe the four adults could compare scores for end of game scoring, and the 4 teens could compare their scores for end of game scoring. Do you think this would work?
Hi, I was just wondering ... if you play a boardgame with stickers ... I'm guessing this isn't easy to play it again because after a while the stickers won't stick anymore ...
Once you place the stickers, you leave them on, so unless you're being rough with it, they shouldn't fall off, but the sticker campaign element is meant to be played through only once anyway. The game includes a way to play without the stickers though.
I am sucking so bad at this game, lost the first 4 to my wife, any tips? That said your explanation of the game was easy to understand and helped us get the game to the table that much faster, much appreciated on that. Re-watching the whole video cause screw youtube's stupid rules :P
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. If during scoring you hit 50, then that's where your marker will stay during that episode, and you get a progress point. Does that help?
i really wish TH-cam had a better system for making corrections to posted videos. i understand that they don't want people to pull a fast one and completely modify a vid for nefarious reasons, but other platforms handle this much better. Reddit and Facebook clearly mark a modified post "Edited." TH-cam should allow post-upload edits, and ideally, they'd keep a version history that people could watch to guard against shenanigans. Rahdo's use of the Klingon channel, my use of cards linking to errata on my website, and your approach of uploading an entirely new video are all poor concessions. This is a problem the platform should solve FOR us, in my opinion.
Agreed! Especially since they have instituted this new honor system for adult content in video. If you claim you don't have any, and consistently show you don't, they stop putting your videos through a review system before allowing ads. They could do a similar thing with trusted youtube accounts, I would think. Hell, make it subscriber based if they had to. How many people would risk losing their 10K+ subscriber channel just to pull a prank by switching content in a video for nefarious reasons?
@@WatchItPlayed Totally. My mind isn't even corrupt enough to figure out a way to "scam" people if i pulled a switcheroo with an edited video. And if *i* can't think of a way to troll someone by abusing the rules, there's got to be some next-level curb casing they're trying to prevent. What are they worried will happen? "Here's the official Purple Rain music video by Prince with millions of views! Psych - we switched it to Vanilla Ice's Ninja Rap!" i don't even know.
Are the stickers removable? Let's say I'm playing with 2 more players, and then after 24 episodes I want to start the legacy game again with someone else, is it possible?
I avoid reviewing in this videos. There are games I absolutely love that others find boring and vice versa - it all comes down to a person's taste in games. I can say that my family and I have been playing through the campaign, so you can read into that what we think of it :)
I don't like the thought of a legacy game because I never know when I'll be able to play that game again. Is there a way to play it NOT as a legacy or just make them temporary changes?
You should consider how many games you own that you've actually played more than 24 times. It's likely few, if any. Honestly, I think the pressure to keep a consistent play group is my biggest hang up on the legacy format.
I was unaware of the algorithm that punishes a video that is stopped part way through. I'm curious, anyone know how it affects that algorithm when you skip ahead in a video?
Kevin Gordon TH-cam’s primary interest is videos that keep you on its platform. So the higher percentage of time you watch a video the better it rates that video. If you skip around, then you are watching less, so it’s not as good for the video. HOWEVER, you shouldn’t feel bad about skipping around videos. I mean, at the end of the day, you have to use TH-cam in a way that’s practical for you - but my interest here was in explaining how re-watching could help the health of this video, since it had to be re-uploaded to address an error.
