This video significantly helped my understanding of mini roundabouts. It also helped me keep my cool on approach and improved my confidence when using them. Passed my test on 15/02/24! to everyone still going. You can do it!

Now I can finally say I'm part of the 'passed my test but still watching' group! Thank you so much for your helpful and in depth videos. One month leading up to my test I watched your videos day in day out and they really helped me. I passed today on my 3rd time with only 3 minors. After my 2nd fail I had no confidence and really wanted to give up but I'm so glad I never 😅. For anyone taking their test soon my only real advice is:
    1. Get a good nights sleep
    2. Eat a good 'brain food' breakfast
    3. Don't drive too much before your test but do carry out a few things you're not too confident on
    4. TRY to stay calm (easier said than done) and don't worry too much about any faults you think you've made . Just stay collected, positive and keep going!
    Good luck everyone! 🚗

After completed 40 lessons i was confused about mini roundabout and my instructor could not able to explain mini roundabout like you. A great informative vlog. I found it so useful and now its clear to me. Thank you man . You are an intelligent instructor. I wish if i could get some lesson from you.

This is the clearest video about the UK roundabout and this helps a lot with all commonwealth/former commonwealth systems, in Hong Kong which is applied most of the Highway code from the UK to Hong Kong, so roundabout rules are also the same.
Again, thanks for the great work!

I have been driving for 40 years but still found your videos very useful and educational. You are a very good teacher indeed. Thank You. Mini aroundabouts not only replace T juctions but also cross roads with 4 junctions as well. In a latter situation, I always wonder who has priority when both cars want to turn right from the opposite directons. One may say whoever arrives at the roundabout first. However, one's focus may be on the junction immediate to the right and can't determine if the car from the opposite direction arrived before or after oneself. Love to hear your view.

on thing that isn't clear here, is that the section at @4:10 the dark blue car is at the junction first, and can proceed onto the round about regardless, it doesn't have to give way to a vehicle that is still approaching the roundabout anyway even if it is coming from the right. give way to the right is for when both cars are already at or stopped at the give way mark to discern priority, and it effectively follow give way to the right because you must give way to traffic on the round about which will always come from the right.

This is why Hove study is important. Learning to drive is complex calling on many parts of your brain to coordinate all at once. With so much of the attention on the doing a lot of explanation learning in the car gets missed.
It would be akin to me learning to play the guitar and whilst doing it my teacher talking about the history of guitar playing.
Then watching a video afterwards on the History of guitar playing and wondering why my teacher is so crap

I drove in different countries in Asia and Australia for over 10 years and travelled to many different countries on the other side of the world. I have to say that this sort of roundabouts is quite Britain specific. Honestly, I never saw this before and I wasn't sure whose got the priority to move in until I watched this. (I did cause a few Mexican standoffs as I did not move in when I was supposed to) This morning, I have smashed it and got on well.

As someone driving in the UK but coming from a country(Portugal) without "mini" roundabouts (at least painted ones) this explains a lot, I have been driving for 6 months and wasn't sure on my need to use blinkers on exit on them while going straight as it felt I didn't had time to do so. I have always over used my blinkers as I wasn't sure so everyone around me knows where I am going. Thanks a lot for this info! :)

They seem to think they don't have to give way to you on mini roundabouts if they are going straight ahead. Drives me barmy. Thanks for this simple explanation and confirming I am right and they do not understand the rea of the road/mini roundsbouts

Hello! Im currently taking driving lessons, On my 12th lesson rn, (next one is reversing WISH ME LUCK) Anyway, So I did mini roundabouts a few days ago for my lesson and my driving instructor told me that signals are always needed at mini roundabouts, Even to go straight forward, Aka if Its like a t junction mini roundabout like the one in your video, Theres no left turn, Just a straight forward and a right turn for the left side. YOu would use your left side signal for going forward as its your first road on your left (first exit on left). Not using signals is more dangerous as people are left to assume, Or maybe someone just forgot to signal, So he said its always best to signal when I told him about your tips in this video (i watched this video before the lesson) Im from the UK too btw

Here in Europe, we have solved the problem with quiet times at traffic lights. We often mount priority signs alongside the lights, the road rules here say that a working traffic light cancels the associated signs.
At night, or sometimes at quiet periods, the traffic lights flash yellow, and then drivers must obey the signs.

5:19 If black and blue car come to the roundabout at the same time black could proceed since it would not impede the blue car. By the time blue car goes all the way around black will be gone. That's of course if blue doesn't see these as driveoverbouts.

    • @ConquerDriving
      @ConquerDriving  3 ปีที่แล้ว

That may be OK but it all depends on timing, this example is assuming there isn't time for both to go at the same time as is often the case especially on the smaller mini roundabouts. Of course if you feel there is time to go then it doesn't matter.

3:23 makes this confusing, it isn't quite right, because the junction at the top is controlled by a give way sign, that traffic MUST give way to all other traffic before proceeding, this means the blue car at the bottom can go before any car waiting at the give way sign, even if they are to its right.
