This is one of the best videos how to enter roundabouts because as a viewer you leave the passive "just watching a video" to actively checking when to go. 😊
Big Roundabouts can be scary at times, it took me ages to get the hang of them! I've met a car coming the wrong way round it, that was one big scary moment.
Thank you Chris, I passed today with first time with 2 minors and your videos have helped so much and I've been watching them since day one of driving and always found them to be so useful and reassuring, and especially the ones on roundabouts made all the difference to my progress :)
Ive got my test tomorrow and worry about undue hesitation and getting mark down for it at roundabouts. This video helped alot. On a different note the van door opening at 11.30 minutes can be dangerous
Currently have ~30 hours of lessons under my belt and live in a roundabout-centric town (no, not *that* one). When it comes to using shields/blockers is I *think* they are exiting and will be a shield, but by the time I'm certain, the opportunity has typically passed, as the opportunity typically lasts for just under 2 seconds, and takes about the same amount of time to double check.
Thank you for this video! It had helped me massively!.. I’ve been struggling with traffic on roundabouts since I’ve started with driving lessons (almost a year a now) and after watching this video few times it finally started to clicking in my head. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
I'm really glad to hear that the video has been helpful to you! Roundabouts can be tricky, but it sounds like you're getting the hang of it. Keep practising, and you'll get even more confident.
This video is super useful! Could you please do more "deliberate hesitations" where we can have the time to think of whether to go or not. Also, could you please provide tips on how to move off quickly on a manual car, both on flat and hill? My only focus is not to stall and/or not roll back so it's takes me some time to find the bite point and even when I find it I don't move off quickly enough. But I see on your video that we have to make decisions/take opportunities very quickly sometimes. A(nother) video on this would be very helpful. Thank you!
None of the cars going straight ahead is positioning on the left-hand lane in the roundabout, is it a lane discipline issue with these drivers or I missed something ?
Probably a lane discipline issue, but some roads have multiple lanes (like a dual-carriageway) , cars can leave the roundabout from the inside lane into the right lane, you need to watch out for them. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) In our country (Hungary) we have a rule that drivers are not allowed to exit the roundabout from the inside lane, unless signs or road markings direct you otherwise. It can be dangerous because we are allowed to go around the roundabout using the outside lane. Luckily our roundabouts are mostly single-laned. :)
Hi Chris! I have problem with roundabout. My first instructor last year said I am leaner so stop at roundabout then find opportunity to go. But my second new instructor said roundabout is designed to keep the traffic flowing and you should keep going if there is gap (!) and only stop if it’s blocked!! But I am struggling doing this as my observation of judging the gap is not good yet! I made bad decisions then stopped after the lines. What is your recommendation, stop as my first instructor or keep going if there is gap as my second instructor? Sorry my test is coming on next week?!
Hi world driving, can you do a video on different types of road markings an example would be when approaching a roundabout the arrow will tell you to go left if you need to go left or to go right if you need to go right? And other car driving road markings situations where your told which lane you need to be in. Also how much fuel would you need in most cars which would allow you to get to most places in the country?
@chris please I have been practicing on my own. Whenever I am approaching a roundabout, I usually stay on the left lane if I am only going on the 1st exit, but any 2nd exit I stayed on the right, please and indicate after passing the first exit or the second exit. I am I right on this please?

At 6:05 why can I go with the van same time. As he has priority now that he left the round about?
Make sure you can see it's safe. Don't go just because they do.
plz do a vid on very bendy roundabouts that needs steering
