I went with the Platinum TRD OR with the 3” factory lift because it gave me the luxury features that the TRD pro doesn’t have, without sacrificing off road capabilities. Plus, I prefer the standard iForce over the Hybrid. I was stoked that they started offering the TRD OR package on the platinum and the 3” lift is icing on the cake. Nonetheless the TRD Pro is a very sharp looking truck. Great review as always, Ben!
Congrats ! I went Pro because less upkeep seats (like my last Platinum Tundra) than full leather and no need to upgrade suspension. Pretty much all tech and more than my 2.5 gen platinum besides the full automatic tilt steering wheel.
This is not yet in the level of Raptor and TRX but its a cheaper alternative. Its inline with the F150 tremor and ZR2

I love the TRD-pro but am Loving it more with those tow/trailer mirrors.
This is a cool truck, especially in this color. The Raptor R & TRX are far superior trucks however.

How are they far superior? The ram interior is much better and has a v8 but the raptor (not r) how is it far superior?
@@Adam-hq7ob both the TRX & Raptor R have more horsepower, more torqu, better tires, better suspension, both sound better & look better than the TRD Pro
If you need to compare to something compare to Tremor and ZR2. But these have more clearance, tech, v8s, and tow hooks...
Toyota reliability and resale are probably the only pluses over these two other trucks.
Raptor is another league.

I’m trying to imagine a Tundra that tows heavy trailers and the strain on the 6 with twin turbos. Gone are the days of 2-300k miles.
How is the turn radius? I’m hearing it’s different for the trd pro over the others.
I paid $73k for a 2024 Silverado 3500 LT Duramax with a 13 inch infotainment center, multi-folding tailgate, 360 camera view, power rear window, center console with wireless phone charger, spray in bed liner. I assure you if I parked my truck next to this one not one person would think this truck cost more. It would look like a Tacoma in size next to an HD truck. And at night, the 3500 HD led cab lights, mirror lights, and switchback lights with the diesel sound…next to this $77k Tundra…it’s not even a comparison. Why anyone would pay an HD price for a half ton Tunndra is beyond me.

@@Sam-dq7wsmy last diesel lasted 10yrs 220k miles. Some diesels have over 500k miles. No way a gas engine and transmission would last half a million miles.
@@jayb7675 There are at least two second-gen Tundras with million-mile trucks confirmed with the original 4.6 L V8 and original transmission. Whether a Toyota turbo engine can pull that off remains to be seen, but probably not. If anyone can do it though, it's Toyota.

The Raptor R and TRX are on a whole nother level... that being said, I'd take a Pro every time. I wish we could get the Fox Live Valve long travel suspension and Ford's remote starting tech though...

As a trade in a 23 tundra Trd pro for a 24 raptor 37”‘package not in the same league. From comfort,power and performance is night and day

Yes
There is very little rear floor space to put in a dog bed or coolers.
There is more storage if you go non hybrid

If you’re wanting to plow snow, go with a super duty from ford or HD from GM….
This is a cool truck, especially in this color. The Raptor R & TRX are far superior trucks however, but the TRD Pro is less expensive

I think it is hilarious how every single “TH-camr” thinks the red vertical line on the trd pro steering wheel or the same thing on the raptor for that matter is a garnish and has NO clue what its really for.

Had them on my 16 Platinum Tundra and never used them. The beefy front sway bar would work in a pinch.
I’d rather put a magnuson super charger on my 2021 sr5 tundra with just 1.5k miles

It’s either this or a diesel truck for me. I need a truck with decent resale value. The rams tank on value quick and I just don’t feel the ford and Chevy half tons are as reliable so it’s either a gmc sierra at4 for its off road capability or this

The people they buy these trucks as well as the people who build these trucks don’t show up to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. So yeah go ahead and drive your Chevy’s, Ford’s, Ram’s, and GMC’s.
No doubt this is a quality build truck however what I can’t get over is the MPG that even with the hybrid system it still gets horrible mpg. Toyota to me this is unacceptable and therefore I won’t be buying one
The hybrid in this was for power not economy.

This video is a waste, you could've just made a video of the new color. I've seen better dem videos for the truck. One thing, the sensors get dirty with slush and its annoying how bad it gets

@@cjr9597 No sir. I own a 2019 and am comfortable with 381 horsepower, 401 lb/ft of torque and 14 MPG. I do not believe that over the long haul (pun intended) forced induction can be as reliable as naturally aspirated even for Toyota. The fact that they did not even offer the V8 as an option, tells me that this was a political move and not demand driven (another pun intended). We should have our answer in the next four or five years once enough of the 2022s start approaching 150,000 miles and any reliability issues are flushed out.
@@handyman2183 Agree but traded in my 2016 Platinum and have to say these are really nice (have a terra pro now with reg mirrors) and don't really miss the 5.7 V8. Biggest difference is this 24 is more refined than my 16 ..a lot less 'bulky' even though the turn radius was better in the 2.5 gen.

@@handyman2183 My 16 only had 86k miles but bought used at 65k miles, Added new everything (shocks, lights,grill, tails, rotors, brakes, parking brake adjusted, front and rear durobumps bumpstops, coachbuilder +1 shackles, rci plates w/cat protection, ds grab handle, meso map and dome leds, changed all fluids ect) and looked like a 2021 model Plat/Pro ...probably would have kept if was original owner, just something that bugged me. It drove awesome though and someone will get a well cared for and improved truck ! If you have bed bounce get the CB shackles and new rear shocks..went with Old man emu over the billy's in rear. Tundra's are the best !!

The tundra is a inferior truck compared to raptor and TRX for a variety of reasons biggest one of them all that makes it inferior to I would say other trucks on the makers nowadays is TOW HOOKS and no amount of excuses from Toyota can justify it not having them

NO! I drove the new Tundra and it is a soulless mess. It is a 4x4 Prius! Stay away, you will not be happy with it.

That’s strange I have 3 friends that have one. One coming from a Ram one from a Ford and 1 Chevy. All really like their Tundras so far. And it definitely isn’t a Prius.

@@kross1261he's right though. Cheap plastics. A screen that rattles and shakes as you drive down the highway. The interior is far worse than what ram was doing 6+ years ago. The fuel economy isn't better than any of the competition. Andddd you get to pay the 20% Toyota premium like it's actually as durable and reliable as the iforce v8
In what universe is this truck reasonably priced! All new vehicles are priced 30% higher than they were just 5 years ago!
