I know of an account on Instagram that mods cabinets and seems to sell them but I've never seen anyone selling these cabinets with arcade boards inside. Shipping these in their finished state would be difficult to ensure it's safety. I'd be very concerned about shipping one with an arcade board inside. I'm not sure how handy or comfortable you are with electronics but this isn't all that difficult to do. I only bought it pre-built because it was a really great price, if not I'd have done it myself eventually. The biggest concern I had was wiring the arcade board to the power supply. The guy who sold me this cabinet originally fried a board by accidentally crossing the power wires. These old boards are hard to find and expensive when you do so that was extremely worrisome to me lol.
Thank you, I have a MK4 arcade board here I could definitely throw in it. That's awesome I'm gonna hop on Instagram and see if I can find the 1up arcade modder.
@@HeadlockedGaming If you already have the board and know how to hook it up, I'd skip asking someone else to mod it for you. Thanks for checking out the channel! Good luck with your mod, I almost wish they'd just sell blank cabinets with monitors at a cheaper price for modders.
@@KillerArcadeGames I played MK4 Revision 3 today on MAME 0.209 with a Phenom II X4 3ghz and while it had some vocal stutter similar to what Cruisin USA used to do (Ch-ch-choose your car, lol), it was absolutely playable. It does run, not perfectly, but it does run. But my i5 8600K ran the game flawlessly. I just wanted to mention that.
I have the side and marquee graphics, still rolled up. I got an idea to convert my Costco MK cabinet to play console systems like PS2 with an X-Arcade dual stick. I just got Midway Treasures 1 and 2, MK1 bonus disc for PS2, and MK4 for PS1 (which should work in the fat PS2) on ebay. All of those for less than the cost of one arcade board or the new Midway Legacy cabinet. I want to find a way to attach the side graphics without removing the backing paper so that I can remove them if I want. Maybe use two way scotch tape inside. And the marquee sticker I’m going to scotch tape to the marquee to not ruin the MKII underneath and so that I can remove it if I want to change marquees.
@@KillerArcadeGames I did custom graphics on two other cabinets, a custom Cruis’n USA with N64 inside, and a riser and extra outrun cushion I bought on ebay, and a Carnevil themed light gun cabinet. The side panels were a pain in the butt to put on but the Carnevil one I used a squeegee and applied a little at a time while peeling the paper back. That works better. But for my MK, I might try using two way scotch tape at the edges on the back without removing the backing paper and see how that works. I don’t want to permanently apply them. And the marquee sticker I’m going to tape to the marquee because I don’t want to ruin the MKII underneath. It would be hard to get a replacement marquee because it’s the thicker lighted one. I can light it without the pcb with an power plug I bought on ebay.
So I just got an authentic MK 4 cabinet. I'm at work atm so only my dad has messed with it, but how do you get into the test menus? He says it's pretty loud and wants to lower the volume but he doesn't know how to. And again, I'm at work atm but I can't find anything online about how to access the test menus
That’s awesome! There should be a small button somewhere inside the coin door. There’s usually a button for service menus in there. They are typically small red buttons but it could be different. You can also probably find the manual for MK4 by googling it and that should show where it is. It’s hard to say what it will look like since previous owners may have changed things.
Is there a way I can i purchase a completed arcade one up cabinet of mk4? Or was there only one of these made? Also what Facebook group is Daniel in to see other complete arcade one ups for sale?
There's a few Arcade1Up modders who sell cabinets. But, I've only ever seen them selling Raspberry Pi based cabinets. It wouldn't be anywhere near powerful enough to emulate MK4. No one I know of is selling these with arcade PCBs inside. Daniel doesn't sell them, he just built this one for himself and ended up selling off all of his Arcade1Ups so I got this one. Your best bet is to try and do it yourself. Its not terribly difficult but theres no tutorial out there. If I end up building one myself with arcade hardware inside, I'll make a tutorial.
This one is probably my favorite to play. I think fun factor for me is MK4, MK2, MK1 and then MK3. I wasn't a huge fan of the third games. They just felt too cartoony and had an odd feel.
@@KillerArcadeGames Probably because a lot of the fatalities were goofier and mostly resulted in explosions, much like how MK1 fatalities were primarily head decapitations and being burnt to a skeleton. Kano was the only stand out! As much as the AI is a pain, I definitely have to give MK2 credit where it's due for the more creative fatalities. The way they programmed Kung Lao's hat split fatality was genius for the time.
I didn't build this MK4 but after looking inside, there's this extra PCB inside that the MK board is connected to. Its what converts the video signal to HDMI. It looks to be this board: amzn.to/38WOY9H Beyond that, you need a power supply for the arcade PCB (and the voltage has to be set properly from what I know). You'll probably need a JAMMA harness and depending on the game, you might need an auxiliary kick harness (its just a connection to add the extra buttons needed for most fighting games). You'll also need speakers in most cases, there's no regular audio out port that I've seen, the speaker wires come off the PCB and go to the speakers. I'm no expert in this field, I want to learn but haven't dug around in my MK4 too much because I'm afraid of ruining such an expensive arcade board haha.
You can’t, I’d guess this is a one of a kind. I don’t know if anyone else with an Arcade1Up MK4, let alone one with the arcade board in it. You could just mod it yourself and buy the board on eBay. That’s probably the only way.
Hey chris man so i bought the new 30th mk arcade with cage missing.i wanna turn that into a mk4 real arcade board cab but where can i find the right size graphics at?

It could just be the fact that the signal is being converted though.
Killer Arcade Games is it really that bad? I remember having my mk4 with the crt and was wishing I had a LCD to get the full look at the game’s graphics with the Zeus chip
You might be able to find a modder who would do it for you but shipping these built would be difficult. Finding one with the arcade board inside would be even tougher and quite expensive. Its hard to find a working arcade board for less than $400 on eBay. At that point, if you built one exactly like mine, you could buy the real thing cheaper, as long as you can fit it in your house lol. Sorry man, I wish I had a better answer for you.
I'm surprised, I thought most people weren't a fan of this game lol. It was $500. But I had to pay around $200 in gas to get there and back. Still worth it in my opinion. I have no plans to sell it but if I did, I could probably get $400 for the board alone.
hahaha! You're the first to mention it. Everyone always hated that I didn't have them on my other cabinets. I never put them on since I thought they'd hit the buttons (especially on my KI cabinet). After visiting Daniel's house and trying his KI with dust covers, I realized it doesn't interfere. I actually like the dust cover's look on the MK4 so I will be putting them on the other cabinets soon.
i ordered a new joystick over a month and a half ago from arcade1up. they took my money and never shipped anything, ignore my phone calls, emails and tweets. any suggestions on what to do?
The only thing I’ve ever dealt with them on is a replacement joystick. It took a solid month but it did come. I’ve heard of other people having this problem too. They’re apparently not great with customer service. You might try posting in the official Arcade1Up group on Facebook.
There is no (known) EJB code for MK4. I assume there just isn't one. The menu system is different than the other games so it was probably not included.
They all sold, he kept his Killer Instinct and UMK3 cab. I almost bought his Blitz cabinet, he sold off the PC and control deck but the shell with the art was there. I couldn’t get it all in the truck though, and without the control deck, it would get expensive to finish it out.
I don't build them for anyone. Theres a lot of reasons but the price would vary a lot depending on how much the MK4 PCB is going for these days. They seem to only get more and more expensive now.
It’s coming! I rambled so long on this one, I recorded it right after I made the reveal. The footage was awful so I’m doing another one this week. I’ll have it up soon. I plan to do a couple of play throughs for this one!
bullshit! I need mk4, fuck mame, I gave up on those assholes years ago, did or CAN anyone ever properly emulate just that board? Or do I need to wait another 20 years? PC version, no thanks. ;/ aand WHY isn't this game included in the arcade 1up???? Its like we're suppose to forget about the last MK ever released in arcades? Whatever HDMI that monitor is plugged into I'd plug that shit right into my TV and use my ps1 controller :P.
Hahah I honestly don't know what it's going to take to get that emulation working perfectly. It was always my issue with it. I wanted the arcade version so badly but it was essentially impossible. I hadn't even thought about adding the real board to an Arcade1Up but when given the option to buy this, I had to.
@@KillerArcadeGames I wish someone would make an emulator for just mk4, like supermodel, or zinc, but just for mk4. crusin exotica is another one, the late 90's early 200o's games, terminator salvation, fast and furious, there are games that mame just doesnt emulate or they just get lazy and emulate japan games no one gives a shit about. Arcade 1 ups might make a hell of a sale if they get the full arcade versions of the games I just mentioned, this would fill the gap of lost arcade games, atleast for me anyway. Mario Kart and dave and busters? I never played it, but what happened to games like that, but I'm on such an outside loop, those could of came out of a nintendo system down the road already.

Nice! This one will be a LONG way off for A1U to release. They still need to perfect the emulation. I don’t know why it’s so difficult, I suppose it’s the Zeus chip that was only used a few times. To be honest, I don’t even know how to put the arcade board into an A1U haha. I have a rough idea by looking at it but I don’t know exactly how it’s done.
Awesome pick up!! I also fell in love with it when I first saw it in the group!! Glad it's in texas!
I’m glad it’s here too haha. It’s an underrated game if you ask me.
@@KillerArcadeGames definitely! Mk4 is my 3rd favorite behind mk2 and mkt
Is it just me, or when I see Quan Chi in the cabinet art it reminds me of that image of the dog with the smile and the huge eyes from that wenomechainsama meme?
Looks great. I haven’t modded my Galaga 1 up but planning to eventually do a Jamma or 60 in 1. Keep up the videos and collecting.
Thanks for checking out the channel! Good luck with your mod, I almost wish they'd just sell blank cabinets with monitors at a cheaper price for modders.
im not a mk4 fan at all, but this is wicked
It's cool to have some real arcade hardware for sure. I can just turn it off without worrying about shutting anything down lol.
i got to play mk 4 arcade 10 25 1997. 1 day before i attended wcw halloween havoc 1997 . and mk 4 arcade had just released mk 4 10 15 1997
Nice!
@@KillerArcadeGames yup and remember back on 3 20 1997 tekken 3 arcade game released and by April of 1998 PS1 port received universal acclaim
Nice job!
Thanks!
Congratulations. You're a cool dude and deserve this. Have fun!
Thanks, I just played some tonight!
It would be tough to get the art to look good without just applying it. But try it it out, it may work better than I think.
It should have been put in the MK Arcade1Up.
I agree. But I also know it just wasn't possible. With emulation being so demanding, there was no way they could do it.
Didn't like mk4 as much as 1-3 but I had it on dreamcast and played it alot
I wanna do this with Tekken 3
It can be done! Go for it. I'd like to see one of those.
All of my life I wanted to own just one Arcade cabinet machine, Even with Arcade 1Ups I'm still too poor to buy it lol
Look for a deal, you can find these for $75 sometimes! Check out deals.consolekits.com to search your area.
@@KillerArcadeGames Wow, thanks!
Hey killer man im thinkin about gettn into gettn pcb arcade boards only thing is..what parts do i all need to complete to make the thing play?
How can I purchase one of these? MK4 was always my favorite fighting game
I'd check with Arcade Graphix and see if he can make this for that shape: arcadegraphix.com/product/arcade1up-3-4-scale-mortal-kombat-4-complete-graphics-kit/
Dude please let me know where I can get that CPB artwork
I'm not sure where he got it. I know the kit is for sale on escapepodonline.com but the control deck is a different image. I can ask him.
@@KillerArcadeGames Yes please ask him I would really appreciate it,
@@KillerArcadeGames any word?
@@bomb1st Just found it! You can only get this control deck from ArcadeGraphix. The full kit for the rest of the cabinet is at Escapepodonline arcadegraphix.com/product/arcade1up-mortal-kombat-4-control-panel-overlay/
@@KillerArcadeGames Thank you so much!!
what MK instrumental did you use at the beginning
I can't remember the exact song but I think you can find it in this video th-cam.com/video/ycat0RbS030/w-d-xo.html or in the playlist.
Long time lutker but finally subbed! Awesome mods!
Are you going to do one for Primal Rage? The BEST version is the one in the PC release of Midway Arcade Treasures!
It got one of the best sidearts in arcade cab history!
Wich btw, where did you get the MK4 arcade side art?
Keep it up!
Thanks! I don't have plans for a Primal Rage. I did briefly play one at my friend Daniel's house, but that one was running the real board. I do like the art though! My problem is, I have very little space left lol. I can fit maybe one more in the room, beyond that I'll have to start scattering them around the house. I bought the MK4 finished but he got the art from Escape Pod: www.escapepodonline.com/products/arcade1up-mortal-kombat-4-mk4-complete-art-kit?variant=31083889164361 But he used the control panel from another seller since it was accurate to the real arcade. Its here: arcadegraphix.com/product/arcade1up-mortal-kombat-4-control-panel-overlay/
how do you hook up an arcade board to the arcade 1up?
Only problem with this cab is it needs a CRT monitor and then you will experience crisp native resolution.
That is the biggest drawback. There's no way I'm putting a CRT in this thing so maybe a scan line generator will be an upgrade down the line.
@@KillerArcadeGames That's too bad! you don't know what you are missing! I came across your "How To Install Mortal Kombat 4 on your PC" video and just wanted to say thanks for sharing the game runs perfect! I have a PC hooked to an old crt tv using a vga to scart converter for retro gaming. Everything looks crisp, no low res or blury textures. The picture quality looks like i'm playing a modern game on a 1080 display. You can barely see those awful scan-lines during the fmv sequence too. maybe one day i will build a dedicated cabinet like you did for your mk4.
@@musicismypassion7686 Nice! I'm glad you found it. I'd put a CRT in it if I could find one that would fit and/or if the cabinet could handle the weight haha. I'm know someone has done it but it didn't look great in this cabinet. I think the PC version looks brighter than the arcade board's output. It could just be the fact that the signal is being converted though.
Killer Arcade Games is it really that bad? I remember having my mk4 with the crt and was wishing I had a LCD to get the full look at the game’s graphics with the Zeus chip
@@Charleito It's not horrible, but the CRT does hide some rough edges.
How can I purchase mk4 cab in the shape of a arcade 1up without modding myself
You might be able to find a modder who would do it for you but shipping these built would be difficult. Finding one with the arcade board inside would be even tougher and quite expensive. Its hard to find a working arcade board for less than $400 on eBay. At that point, if you built one exactly like mine, you could buy the real thing cheaper, as long as you can fit it in your house lol. Sorry man, I wish I had a better answer for you.
The REAL way to mod.
I'd love to do the same with my Killer Instinct cabinet, but that board is SO expensive.
Killer Arcade Games one day, you’ll get lucky and find one for next to nothing,
Then you have your ultimate mod!
Yeah Mortal Kombat 4 is badass! Good Job! I forgot you're from Texas too hahaha!
I didn’t realize you were in Texas. What area are you in? I’m near San Antonio.
@@KillerArcadeGames Dallas
Would you ever sell this?
I have no plans to sell any time soon. I enjoy it too much!
NICE NICE NICE NICE !! i WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS TOO. good job. How much did it cost ?
I'm surprised, I thought most people weren't a fan of this game lol. It was $500. But I had to pay around $200 in gas to get there and back. Still worth it in my opinion. I have no plans to sell it but if I did, I could probably get $400 for the board alone.
Looks like you installed the dust covers correctly on your other MK cab with Happ controls but not for this one? Just a nit pick... WELL DONE!!
@@KillerArcadeGames No man. They're supposed to be under the top of the controls. You have them on wrong.
i ordered a new joystick over a month and a half ago from arcade1up. they took my money and never shipped anything, ignore my phone calls, emails and tweets. any suggestions on what to do?
The only thing I’ve ever dealt with them on is a replacement joystick. It took a solid month but it did come. I’ve heard of other people having this problem too. They’re apparently not great with customer service. You might try posting in the official Arcade1Up group on Facebook.
Killer Arcade Games thanks!
Hi,
Which part of MS where you pick up the MK4 may I ask? I live in MS as well and looking for modded arcade1up. Thanks.
Near Jackson. I don't know if he'd be interested in doing mods though. He just sold pretty much all of his modded cabinets.
So does ejb code work on mk4
There is no (known) EJB code for MK4. I assume there just isn't one. The menu system is different than the other games so it was probably not included.
Ready to sell yet?
Nope, I love this one!
Still available? Would you sell it?
I don't plan to sell this one any time soon. I really love this game and its literally one of a kind in its current cabinet lol.
Does this guy still have any cabinets for sale?
They all sold, he kept his Killer Instinct and UMK3 cab. I almost bought his Blitz cabinet, he sold off the PC and control deck but the shell with the art was there. I couldn’t get it all in the truck though, and without the control deck, it would get expensive to finish it out.
I got a real mortal kombat 2 board in my 1up, and I can't get it to work for shit! The power comes on, but I've got no sound, and no picture.
Thats weird. I assume it works inside a regular cabinet? I didn't set this one up so I don't know much about it sadly.
You didnt use the art of mk4 on buttons panel
It’s close but the color is slightly different. I didn’t build this one though. I’ve sold this and bought a full sized MK4 now anyway.
Does Daniel have another mk4 for sale?
Nope, He's actually sold all of his Arcade1Up cabinets and doesn't work with them anymore as far as I know.
Killer Arcade Games bummer... if you ever want to sell your mk4 let me know
ps1 de bu görüntü yok
How much can i pay you to make one for me?
I don't build them for anyone. Theres a lot of reasons but the price would vary a lot depending on how much the MK4 PCB is going for these days. They seem to only get more and more expensive now.
Wanted way more gameplay 😥
I never played it, but what happened to games like that, but I'm on such an outside loop, those could of came out of a nintendo system down the road already.
wth, 9 minute video and you don't even show the guts of the cab? Or any link on how to do it ourselves? come on.
I didn’t build this one. But I do show the insides and how it’s done here
th-cam.com/video/JDzgnvRcSYY/w-d-xo.html
Waste of a perfectly good board.
I don't see how it is. I could just as easily take it out and put it in a full sized cabinet. Or sell it to someone who has a full sized cabinet. It plays the exact same, just in a smaller package.
