The first one with the Kubota engine seemed to be a very potent motorcycle, should I choose it would have been the one that had brought me home. Incredibly well built.
I regret selling my VW bike. Built this bike back in the 80's. It was a 1600 counter balance crank, dual port heads, with a good street cam. I used a BMW R 2 chassis, transmission drive shaft, cafe style. Man I miss that bike.
Nice. I was pleasantly surprised by how natural the V Dubs fit into a bike. It's a really nice change seeing mellow, relaxing bikes after watching a few, irritating, screaming crotch rocket vids. Some of us older folks who used to drag pegs back in the day, enjoy thumping along at low revs. Personally, I wouldn't trade my vintage rat bike for some 150 bhp fire breather. Yep, this was a dig at all of the goofballs that think motorcycles are all about speed.
A friend of my neighbour put an industial Japanese two-cylinder diesel engine into a BMW airhead frame. Works very well. It's water cooled and he routes that hot water through the handlebars in the winter.
You missed out a car-engined production bike: The Münch 4 'Mammoth' which in the late '60s was the most powerful, the fastest and quite likely most expensive production bike around. It used a 1200cc 4pot motor from the NSU Prinz
Loved the VW-powered bikes, especially. Can anyone tell me, what transmission was used to hook 'em up in order to run the shaft drive on and older BMW frame? (I'll guess an early BMW tranny with an adapter plate? I've got a circa-1961 /3 frame, like the one shown around 5:21, but need the rear shocks for both sides. Anyone?) For a while, a gent named Dough Whitson was offering the "Webley Vickers," generally built on the /2 frame (which oddly enough, was later than the /3. Oh well...!)
I must use a Toyota Prius hybrid engine for a custom made motorcycle. On the other hand, Toyota Camry and Honda Accord engines are great for custom made motorcycles is that they are most reliable.
These guys are brilliant, unlike the Harley-Farken types who buy a piece of bolt-on chrome and call it a "build". How fast do you ride your Hayabusa through a school zone?, or really anywhere? As for HP and top speed, they make the speed limits like a VW did and get you there. Reliable transportation is the real thing. Showing off is a weakness.
I am very interested in knowing what each one of these bikes are powered by ! Unfortunately, my screen is extremely small, and I can't make out what they are. Could you please respond back to me with the details of the list of them ? Thank you !
Even putting in a 1966 Volvo 1800 car engine makes any motorcycle last greater than four million miles. Stick to those specified Volvo car engines and your motorcycle, including the motorcycles from the ChiPs TV shows last millions of miles, even if you are an experienced Volvo mechanic.
Power figures on their own are pretty meaningless, you can have a lovely flexible engine producing say 40-50 horsepower from just above tickover to say high 50s flat out and that engine and that machine will run across Continents and huge distances, up hills and mountains better then any 120 bhp scream-box! If you riding long distance you want something torquey and relaxing and good on fuel too, low RPM is less stress for the rider and the component parts!
Jonathan Cardozo the vw ones appear to be hooked to old bmw seperate gearboxes n shaft drives,u can also tell by the ,,plunger,,rear suspension, its old bmw too.
What, no Munch Mammoth with it's 1200cc four cylinder NSU car engine. In the 1960's the Mammoth was a treal tyre shredder and wire spoke snapper. The rear wheel had to be a cast aluminium item as wire spokes couldn't cope with the power produced.
I don't understand why? That Kubota sound shite. The vw boxer is such a low powered engine. There's no improvement in sound ride-ability, torque, speed or acceleration. The beetle has never been economical for its size. Engineering triumphs motorcycle fails
I think the kubota sounds cool especially with the turbo, but everyone is entitled to their opinions, like how I think the Volkswagen beetle is ugly and the engines are underpowered. Would have liked to see a small v8 or v6 bike.
Hi, AMAZONAS MOTORCYCE, (les motos Amazonas Brésiliennes) Amazonas motorcycles mass produced in Brazil are made this way, but it's heavy and a design to review. ...
That's the reality for all bikers, all the time. Well, except if you only drive around in big cities or something... but there you have _people_ instead. They're worse.
Hey Tino : th-cam.com/video/ukkqynu4LcM/w-d-xo.html Greets !

Really liking the free and random mixing of frames in this video, the jumping backwards and forwards really adds to its watchability. Good job.

Not even that old yet but completely agree
A bit like the fifties Douglas Dragonfly but with two extra pots.
That first VW powered bike sounded pretty rough (missing). The second one with the old single port heads actually sounded good. ;-)
Thanks for putting these videos together
Like the first diesel bike well done .
In Brazil there was a production motorcycle called the Amazonas which used the VW flat-four engine.
CaptHollister Yes i read it was a tank.
Any motorcyclist older than 60 should know that.
Its brazil dude everything is shit there lool
@@elespiritudeltigre9526 shut up
@@albion2742 I'm. 47 and know the bike😂

Thanks for very useful and nice narration ! 😉😬

And a Reliant three wheeler engine bike.
1:25 like the Brasilian - Amazonas 1600
I have a 1987 BMW k100 with a Nissan micra engine. Starts runs drives.
3rd bike is nice, the classic look with beetle engine

Hello tino was transmission used for vw aircooled engine? I have the kit?
Nice! But you need to check out " Boss Hoss" they have some muscle! Thanks for sharing.
Viper is better.
Muscle, but absolutely no soul.
I think a Cummins, or John Deere tractor diesel engine for custom motorcycles is a suggestion.
the second bike is brazilian. its called Amazonas. it has an 1600cc vw engine and was made in series.
HONDA Goldwing engines are similar to VW ones with their opposing pistons.
I even have a weber carb on my old classic gw engine
Hmmmmm....more weight, less BHP per Ltr, longer wheel base....why would you?????
Jeeesus, if you put a video up, describe the bikes you show... thks ;-)
o.k.
the VW is hilarious

I wonder... the first Beetle engine is that with a harley gear box?
That's done nicely but, I Still believe Kenny Howard's looks more like a factory build as compared with a backyard built unit..
The first one was glitching the matrix.
The guy at the beginning dropped the clutch so fast
Descripción o mas videos de la primer moto turbo diesel!! Se los agradecería muchooo

How about NASCAR and LeMans powered motorcycles even if they are custom made? I know these are new ideas after I saw car engine powered motorcycles.
V.W. boxer is classic cool.
feeling sea sick

Some people put car engines to motorcycle another people put motorcycle engines in to the car.
A stock VW beetle motor is like 40 HP...a stock Suzuki 1800cc is like 120HP...Hmmmmmmm.
JOHN DEERE A old BMW boxer twin is lighter and just as powerful and they run a long time.
Yeah, most of these bikes aren't built for performance but for the fun of building stuff and make it work.

Cool survey vídeo, do you know How gearbox Works in these projects?
Jonathan Cardozo the vw ones appear to be hooked to old bmw seperate gearboxes n shaft drives,u can also tell by the ,,plunger,,rear suspension, its old bmw too.
First one seems to have a Harley gearbox of some kind. Looks similar at least.
Kubota is not a car engine
Agreed. Generator or water pump but not a car.
It also says "industrial engine" in the video itself. Only the title is a tad incorrect.
I thnk all were bug moters except the last one.

Hi
Would like to know what Engine is in each one.
And maybe in an easy to read text on screen.
If you have it already, would seem very hard to see.
RAYMOND PARSONS I was hoping it would say what they were I'm a car guy but still don't know what each one is
It says so in the bottom left hand corner at the beginning of each vid. Bike 2,3 and 4 all use Beetle motors.

We do it because we can. Deal with it 😎
Motorcycle built around a 3500cc alloy V8 (Rover) in New Zealand
What a pussy! go look at a Boss Hoss!
Не понятно это самоделка или заводской.
The air cooled Beetle engine is a brilliant idea. It should last forever in a bike. I wonder how many HP and top speed.
blipco5 hardly any for both.
Boss Hoss ?
What is the advantage of a bug powered bike over a Gold Wing ?
none except maybe weirdness
I've never understood this. Why replace a highly efficient, light weight, high performing engine wit the exact opposite?
GrtSatan It's the "cool" factor. Why be generic?
Hi, AMAZONAS MOTORCYCE, (les motos Amazonas Brésiliennes) Amazonas motorcycles mass produced in Brazil are made this way, but it's heavy and a design to review. ...
Unique, but why put an underpowered car engine into an underpowered motorcycle.
and MF 650,BFG 1200,BOCCARDO 1200 ????????
The print on your videos is way too small almost unseeable
Bug engines only? I miss the german Münch with NSU car engine, only 500 made.
