I honestly don't get charging docks for the Quest 3. The Quest battery is absymal, most ppl seem to be using battery packs. S3 Halo, spare B100 battery and AMVR stand for the Quest to sit on and roll. Charging dock for your batteries if you are feeling froggy. Controller charging = just swap AAs when needed or use eneloops.
Hi Jay, I don't quite understand why you should use the Aubika or Maecker Grips for this dock. They are already their own charging systems in itself. It just doesn't seem logical to me to simply use the different Bobovr batteries in a totally different grip charging system. This should really just be tried with simple silicone grips from other brands, which unfortunately you have not done here. Love your videos, but this one didn't make much sense this time. Please try and demonstrate with normal silicone grips. How about the Kiwi Design grips without battery door for example? ...get well soon
Thanks for the great and informative videos while laid up from knee replacement and apparently endless time for VR. Question , have you reviewed the Maecker rechargeable hand grips for Quest 3? Reason I ask is because the Aubika ones the strap is mounted high on the controller and because my fingers are short (no, not Baggins sized) have difficulty hitting B & Y buttons good. Would appreciate any info on a comparison for strap obstruction.
Far be it from me to disagree with King Jay…..but I think the PRISM XR Carina dock is the best charging dock for the headset. It is compatible with most facial interfaces BUT the Globular Cluster ones. It also charges controllers without silicone. For me, the best set up is the PRISM XR for the headset and charging the Aubika silicone grips with cables. A perfect combination. (For clarity, I also tried the BOBOVR dock-very finicky and no light on the front to see if the headset is charging. Need to look inside to see if the green light is on)
The light on the headset itself with light up orange when changing and green when done. You don't need to see the connection light to know if it's charging or not. Just saying
@@newfjuice6691 Of course….but every other charger has a light in the front to show if the headset is charging. The PRISM XR also has it. I like that feature
@@Eagledocstew I guess? It's your personal preference. It's just seems redundant to me if I can clearly see the light on the headset knowing if it's charged or charging. In retrospect I didn't need rechargeable controllers I could have just bought the battery charger. But I have the full set up and it all works. It's pretty easy to tell when the headsets charging or not. That being said it is overkill, He's 100% right when he says that you could just swap batteries around and always have it charged. Live and learn lol
A whole lot of nothing the "consumer" in me is interested in buying lol good vid though! It's cause I'm cheap though. Still using the ole 27000mAh battery in pocket method and as for storage, I have a zip ties on the backs of my headset(s), all of them actually and they hang on my wall on hooks. total cost, cheap! lol Don't get me started on the AMVR silicone grips I took scissors to so they would work with the onestock VR gun stock I bought (which WASN'T cheap fyi lmao :)
Something I haven't seen explained anywhere, how fast does the quest 3 charge via the 3 pins at the bottom? Also, they said the controllers and b100 battery stop charging automatically, does the quest 3 also auto stop it's charge?
i havent seen a lot about inseye lumi has something happened? or is it the waiting game now and their focused on shipping what they have rather than keeping us update i havent found anything, anymore recent that may no new information about it.

Keep seeing these maecker grips in thumbnails. Full review soon? Love the videos!
Thanks a lot Jay, that the vidéo we looking for ! I ll pass until a dock with only the headset and the batterie will be available ( like the d2).
What?! A company made a product that only works with their ecosystem? I'm shocked 😅
They can't exactly make it universal 😅

Yeah how are they supposed to account for every grip or facial interface design?
