You're low to the ground in a small car with such an open cockpit it's almost like you're flying on a magic carpet. Trying out a flight sim is next...
VR is an amazing experience and is so immersive, I'm glad you mentioned the graphics though. Graphics are amazing and really good, but you need a good PC, set the resolution to 1.5x (max) and 90Hz, and above all, use a Link cable connected to PC, with wifi you cant get good graphics and performance.
Since I got the Quest, I also got a new PC, and can now run it in 120hz 1.5 resolution - massive difference from the experience I had in this video. I use Meta Quest Link. Once I get all my settings right I'll upload that in another video!

Nice vídeo dude! Looking forward to see you graphics tweaking and I’m still struggling to get mines working! OpenXR VS OCULLOS Definitely cable will improve quiete a bit your experience!
playing around with the Quest tool you can get bitrates up to 600mbps and with other settings in that "mode tool" the fidelity just gets so much better, the cable on stock settings is even worse than wifi at times. but it can do so much more.
Try a wired connection and go through the developer mode options to improve the graphics quality. Also the Oculus debug tool will clear things up with just a few options. Dirt Rally 2.0 is my favorite. Have fun man!
Setup is key to enjoy VR on the quest 3. I run mine wired using OpenXR... I limit my quest to 80fps because when using the quest that's a great balance between graphic fadelity and frames. You will want to use 800+ bitrate mode using the debug tool or oculus tray tool. Also, disable ASW mode if you run a decent computer 4070+ you shouldn't need it.
@@LDFR yeah, it takes a little time to get the settings maximized for your gpu/cpu combo. Just think of it with the quest 3 as squeezing as much information through the pipe as you can (the pipe thickness is the bitrate you set). You can only get soo much through it at one time so you have to balance the framerate with quality... Go too hard on one ie: 120hz, and you'll lose some graphic fadelity. Go too high on the graphics IE: super sampling too high, or trying to push more pixels than the quest can handle, your frame rate will have to be turned down. That's why 80fps is a good setting because you can turn the graphics up a bit and it will still feel smooth.
The graphics will definitely be less sharp than with a monitor, but I noticed at the beginning of the video you had glasses on. If your prescription is for distance, that could be your problem because in VR your view is set in the distance. Try it with your glasses on and see if that helps, if so, your best bet would be a set of prescription lenses for the Quest. I get mine from VR Wave, they're fantastic. You'll have to play around with the settings to find the best balance between graphics and framerate. 72 hz doesn't bother me, so I set Virtual Desktop to 72 hz and crank the graphics to ultra and use the h.264+ codec and run it at 500 mpbs. Also make sure you have the snapdragon superscaling checked in the streaming options in Virtual Desktop. Good luck!

@@chinwikhalwi3232 i feel different, instead I play longer with VR than flatscreen. I enjoy it more, i get bored with flatscreen... most of my games now on PC are VR games and modded to VR flatscreen games
Do not strive for the level of graphics you are used to with your monitor and PC set up they will always be better. However VR for driving sims is the only way.
The Quest 3 is not a native PCVR headset. So yes it will not look nearly as well or play as well on a PC. Even though I have a beefy PC when using the quest 3 it would be a shaky burry mess.
To be honest, you need to plug the quest 3 to a permanent power supply because the internal battery is worthless if you want to play. Maybe my battery is defective but its insane how fast it drops. The flickering of textures and this stair step effect is normal, its the downside of quest 3.

same here , just started. which settings you use? i have a 4070super and i'm struggling to undesrstand the best trade off due to the bad iracing graphic engine....
Haha he’s buzzing his beeps off haha😎😎
try asseto corsa. Its just like this game but the graophics are on par with real life
You definitly not lie, its your first time. You cant speak 🎉🎉🎉
ive got the pimax crystal light which looks twice as good and it still doesnt come close to a monitor
How many hours can you drive with the quest 3 while using the cable? I sold my quest 2 in order upgrade but with the 2hr battery it's useless for endurance.
I haven’t yet done any sessions that were long enough for my headset battery to die. Anyway, yesterday I noticed that I had about 80% battery left after a session of about an hour
I never run out of battery. Just 2 things: turn off wifi in headset if you play with linkcable, and use a linkcable with charger connection
@StijnVanOnacker thanks ill see if I can find one of those cables locally I have spotted them here and there but hadn't seen anyone show the battery charges enough while in use with those cables.
@@StijnVanOnacker Thanks for the tips Stijn, those are gold. Never thought of turning off the wifi. And a Link Cable with a charger port is going to be my next purchase for VR. Mind sharing which one you use?
@@Kevin-vg5uw i have one were I can plug a phone charger in. I know you also have cables with usb A and usb C connector, don't know if these can keep the battery full
If you haven’t already, try an open wheel car.
I saw you upgraded to a 4070 ti super but for this video, what was your system? I am contemplating should I do 4070 ti super or 4080 super or 4090. I also own the quest 3 on a 4060 is horrible
On this video I was on a 3070 / Ryzen 5 3600x
@@LDFR ahh I see! Thanks for replying! Any recommendation if you think 4070 ti super was an upgrade you are satisfied with for VR? Or wished it was a higher card?
@@azharhirani The 4070 ti super does the job and even does it to a good standard. I run high-ish settings and get 90fps in VR on iRacing - you can see what the experience is like in my most recent uploads. That said, you can never have enough GPU for VR. Go as high as you can afford, but don't go below 4070 ti super is my recommendation mate.
Is it just the recording or does the Image feels a bit shaky?
Looks fun, i used to doend a fortune keeping an up to date pc for simulators ( not vr back then ), now i just want to buy a system that works so not a pc,
I really fancy vr though but seems like a 4090 plus a decent system is really needed costing a few thousand is required atm.
You would think cloud gaming could fill this void where people want a good visual vr experience without having to buy and configure such a machine
im not sure, wouldnt cloud gaming be a bit too much like input lag for vr?
Once you go VR there is no going back!
I see that now!
Get a better headstrap and remove the darkening shield for better experience
Is it ok without your glasses? It's the only thing that puts me off buying one.
The glasses are not prescription, they are blue light filter glasses for eye strain and headaches, so I am not the best person to ask about that. What I can tell you though is that the visor can be adjusted to be comfortable with glasses, so you can easily use it with your glasses if that’s the problem.
any issues getting it running? how did you do it i wanna do it with my Q3 also
Good morning bro, it s been a long sleep.
Ahahah cheers mate :) better late than never!
You need to map a camera reset button as you aren’t sat right in the car
Does nowadays anyone actually watch the full video before jumping to the comments?
@@mementomori4972does anyone check how they’ve written a reply before replying? (You believe you meant to write ‘nowadays does’) - see I can be sarcastic too. Yes he has a ‘button’ mapped, but clearly not very well. He’s not positioned correctly in the car.
@@FruitLoop2020 No, that's not what I meant to write. Instead of wasting my time suffering your insecurities, I will just let this here speak for itself. 1) "You need to map a camera reset button as you aren’t sat right in the car". 2) "Yes he has a ‘button’ mapped, but clearly not very well. Welcome to VR buddy! When you say the graphics are not good enough, I wonder if you mean the resolution. Obviously, iRacing doesn't have the best graphics. Maybe make sure the resolution is as high as yiur system can handle. You can look in the iRacing settings and make sure the resolution is higher and also in the settings of Virtual Desktop. If you want the best looking and performing sim in VR, you have to try Automobilista 2. The physics are decent, but the graphics and performance is out of this world in VR.
I tried some new settings after this first run and I'm already liking the graphics a lot more! But I'm still experimenting
Been playing SIM racing in VR for over a year now, i can no longer go back to Flatscreen.
That's understandable!
Wish I would've looked in to the Quest 3 before I bought my triples - could've saved the money for the stand, monitors, cables etc. I have no interest in flatscreen/triples for sim racing after VR
After use many times you feeling borred and get back to flat screen
@@chinwikhalwi3232 for me never, been playing VR for over a year now. Flight games, shooters, sim racing etc
@@chinwikhalwi3232 i feel different, instead I play longer with VR than flatscreen. I enjoy it more, i get bored with flatscreen... most of my games now on PC are VR games and modded to VR flatscreen games
It’s a game changer I have the meta quest 3 it’s great.
Do not strive for the level of graphics you are used to with your monitor and PC set up they will always be better. However VR for driving sims is the only way.
Yeah I definitely don't expect to be able to achieve that, but even getting somewhat close would be nice!
i have a pc and vr im planing on geting a rig soon should i get 3 monitors our stick with my quest 2
Get a quest 3!
The Quest 3 is not a native PCVR headset. So yes it will not look nearly as well or play as well on a PC. Even though I have a beefy PC when using the quest 3 it would be a shaky burry mess.
Haha, no, no, no.😂😂😂
No it's not. All VR headsets move with your head, what do you mean not a native headset ?
I could have sworn you have a 32" screen
Please try GT7 with psvr2 and ps5 pro
Is he using it with a pc?
Yes!
Try Dirt Rally 2.0, enjoy!
get a Pimax crystal for best picture
To be honest, you need to plug the quest 3 to a permanent power supply because the internal battery is worthless if you want to play. Maybe my battery is defective but its insane how fast it drops. The flickering of textures and this stair step effect is normal, its the downside of quest 3.
I get fence, rails, and other flickers at a distance. What setting needs changing? Anyone?
Ant aliasing is usually the setting for jaggies and shimmering. Other than that super sampling.
@alanharrington Thank you. The one on my video card or in Iracing?
@@irpk239 usually in game setting for anti aliasing. The type of AA will depend on what the game offers (TAA, MSAA, FXAA, SSAA, SMAA). If the game offers several types look them up and see which is most appropriate for your system, or simply try each one and see. Increasing the resolution output to the headset can help if your system can handle it, this is found in your headset software often as a percentage.
@@irpk239 for anti aliasing in game, if there are several types then try them out and see which works best for your system. For super sampling, that's found on your headset software and is usually expressed as a percentage.. From what I've heard, apparently turning off FSR also helps with jaggies and shimmering in iracing.

Welcome to vr try every thing
Turn your mirrors on.
Valve Deckard
I need a 4090😢
Next ; Half life alyx
motion sickness
Why were the graphics so bad?
So sad that you start VR SimRace in iRacing ... Almost any other Sim Race Game it looks better than iRacing, ... try Automobilista 2 for example. Congrats on going VR
Thanks mate, I'll try other titles when I get the chance :) iRacing is my main sim for now!
@@LDFR Yes, but Visuals/Graphics on VR it make big difference, try it and you will see.
Vr is the future of gaming, flat screen sucks compared lol
There is miles better graphical vr games then this.
How can you play racing sims in flatscreen, you could have a 100 monitors, and its not even 10% close to the experience in VR ... it is completely and utterly on another planet.
