Just received mine... ordered from Amazon... tried it out on just some heavy cardstock while waiting for the mat boards! I love it! Will be working on a travel journal/notebook at a retreat that I am attending next week! My friend is going for the first time to Europe for almost a month and visiting 3-4 countries. I have great DSP to use for this book! I'm excited! Of course, I will do a prototype first... I have a tendency to make too many mistakes that would destroy the GOOD paper! LOL! Love your video!

Hi Eileen! That die is new this year and is hard to find! Only because it sells out so very fast. As soon as an online store gets it in stock it sells out so you do have to be patient and keep trying. I ordered mine (pre-order) from The Funkie Junkie Boutique and right now they show 7 in stock. Thank you for your comment and question, Sarah. I no longer have any of the elastic on hand that I used and seems I didn't not add the size to my notes. I'm so sorry. It wasn't an especially think cord and I would say it about the thickness of the smaller hair elastics but in a roll and I think I purchased it at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Hope that helps.
I just found your channel as I was looking for inspiration before buying the Journal die myself. And I cannot wait to see all your other projects
Okay. I found some of what I'm pretty sure I used and it's 1.2 mm elastic cord. I think the smaller size is easier to thread through the holes of the journal cut with this die. 2 mm might work but I've seen others use the 1.2 mm and pretty sure that I used that too. You will love creating this journal. I need to make a few more myself.

Hi! Did you a crease pad to cut the insides of the cover. I'm having a problem with them not cutting when I use the crease pad, and it goes all the way through when I use the acrylic pads. Please do a video on jusy cutting the paper. Thanks
I hope I understand you correctly. I only used the die to cut the cover out of matboard. I did not cut the papers for the inside of the book with the die. When I cut the cover I used the acrylic pads. Right now I don't have time to do a video on it but I think there are some out there. Check some videos on Facebook by Eileen Hull as she designed the die. I hope that helps you.
Sandy Trefger ok, I thought you use the die to cut the inside of the covers. So did you just traced it?
On one side I used that thermo web and attached the paper and cut the matboard and the patterned paper stuck to it at the same time with the die. I have forgotten what I did but I think I used the die to cut the paper for the inside but it was just the main section and then glued it to the cover. But you could attach it to the mat board and cut at the same time. Sorry I have not done another one since so not to sure about that but I know the outside patterned paper was cut with the mat board. Tracing it would work.
Sandy Trefger my problem is when i just cut the paper using the crease pad, it does not cut properly. I have no problem cutting chipboard or the mat board. Thanks for getting back to me. I might have to call sizzix. I was told to use a crease pad if I was just cutting the paper
That might be a good idea to call them. What is a crease pad? I cut paper with the acrylic pads only. In the video you see that I put an acrylic plate, the die, the matboard with paper and then another acrylic plate. Maybe try that and not the crease pad. I will go look up what that is. :) Maybe I have another name for it.

What is the name of the die cut journal called
So sorry, I missed seeing this comment! I'm not sure of the name. It is a Sizzix die by Eileen and I think it was called a travel journal.
You should not have speeded up the threading of the cord. It is an important part and would have helped to see it
When using these dies you have prepunched holes and directions in the guide on how to thread it so it really wasn’t necessary for me to include that step in my free video. But I did show it briefly and then sped it up to keep the video at a reasonable length for quicker uploading. I’m sure if you upload videos that you understand. Thank you for watching though.
You can slow down the video by tapping the three dots on the top right and choose video speed
