I just subscribed to your channel. Love this too. So I had ordered one too and mine came today and I was trying to do a video too and to no avail my video failed because I forgot what I was doing. But thankfully you came into play and saved the day. thank you so much. Now I have this down.
Thank you very much Sharon. I have noticed that there is a lack of tutorial videos for this cutting die. I am stoked that the notebook can take both A5 and A6.
Ooooh Sharon… I don’t know why I didn’t just come straight to you in the beginning. They ‘all’ went all around the world before the most integral part of the make. I’ve had the dud for a number of years, bought from CnC, and of course you demo’s it for us., silly me. I thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I’m putting a wedding planner/journal for my soon to be daughter-in-law . Love you sooooo much Sharon. Learnt so much from you over the years. Are you off CnC now for good. I watch you and Pete on HobbyMaker. I check up the tvguide 😅😂. Do miss youz from CnC tho’. 😢😊❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Carole, glad it was helpful! Yes Sizzix have left C&C and are now on Hobbymaker. We have some really fabulous shows coming up - in fact I am there next Friday 15th with Eileen Hull's new die collection so if you are a fan of Eileen then you don't want to miss that! Pete, Jess and I are on Hobbymaker about 3 or 4 times a month so keep an eye on schedule :)
Oh wowsers, this is a super tutorial, many thanks indeed. I've seen tuts for decorating them but yours was vital in showing how to build it and then what to use to go inside. Thanks again x
I really love your instructions. I’ve only just discovered this die. I’m not sure how to use the other piece, the one that doesn’t cut one side. Would you please tell me how to use or even better would be another video. Thanx tons
When I don’t have a filler handy, I cut the sized paper and sew it in the center. This journal holds pages about 4.25”-4.5” x 8.5”. Double the width, maintain the length and stitch down the middle. I am able to buy the blank journals at our local dollar store. They are inexpensive and I often can find a calendar journal and a graph paper journal at the same store. Hope this helps.
I create my own inserts. Message me if you are interested in custom made inserts. I can create plain ones, mixed colors, assorted papers and even with added pockets, tuckspots and tabs!
Are you cutting cardstock? I find this happens when cutting paper or thinner card - there are two ways to solve it. Either use a Sizzix Premium Crease pad (you use it instead of one of the cutting plates and because it’s softer than the cutting pad it gives a perfect crease), alternately you can just add 2 or 3 sheets of scrap paper in between the die and the card you’re cutting.
sharon curtis thank you! I ordered the crease pad and gave it a whirl last night with better but not perfect results on copy paper. If I scrap one page out of each stack, it’s still better than cutting by hand! Lol. I appreciate you responding and your tips!!
I just attempted to use this Scoreboards XL (Eileen Hull 660331) as illustrated in the directions and in this video (the extended cutting plates 655267 A10802 are BRAND NEW; I bought them expressly for this die ); I used 110 lb cardstock, which is not even as thick as chipboard, which is listed as an option on the packaging. When I tried to cut a second sheet of same weight paper for more pages; IT JAMMED in my electric BIG SHOT, which NOW NO LONGER FUNCTIONS and it is too costly to replace. So upset! Sizzix should have designed these as TWO SEPARATE dies: one for the cover & backing and one for the pages. VERY POOR DESIGN -NOW I NO LONGER HAVE USE OF MY BIG SHOT.
Please contact Sizzix customer services for advice - the Bigz dies are designed for cutting many different types of materials, and 110 lb should not cause a problem.
Thanks for your quick reply Sharon. Since, I considered my Big Shot a lost cause; I made an attempt to pry apart the two cutting plates and used extended craft tweezers to pull out the cardstock (in small pieces), then, I used a rubber mallet to realign the plates enough to get my Big Shot to function. Thanks for caring - I would also recommend your idea to anyone else who encounters this situation!
How do you get your journal to open flat, also, when I fold it the paper ripes and I'm using good quality paper/card stock. The white board works well as far as under board, but the gray board separates at the back when I work the back together. I am so frustrated working with paper and gray board. Thank you for an amazing how too video, very very helpful!!
I know this an old video, but I watch it again and again. So grateful you did this❤️❣️❤️
Thank you so much I really needed this hard find instruction

Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this. I struggled to put it together but these instructions are great.
When you use leather do you put it first on the mat board.
yes I do - I use a double sided adhesive sheet to stick it to the mat board before die cutting.
Thank you for such a good explanation tutorial.
You're very welcome!
Another really helpful tutorial, you are so easy to watch. Many thanks xx
This is really cool! Thank you!

Nice video. Thank you.
So this die is for the journal covers? Do you know if there is a die to make the filler pages? Thank you.
Kimberly Hanson that’s what I’m wondering and looking for too. Want to be able to make my own covers and notebooks and save some money 😁

My pleasure!
please could you advise me on which weight mount board works best?
Great I just bought this and it sounds grand
Love your video. ❤️💯❤️💯
Do you know if this die will work in the cuttlebug if I use the extended cutting plates? Thanks!
Yes
Thank you so much loved your tutorial so excited waiting on my die arriving - were can you purchase the books for inside please.
Karen Glenn I used notebooks I bought in Morrison’s- I had to trim them a little with a craft knife and metal ruler but they work really well.
I create my own inserts. Message me if you are interested in custom made inserts. I can create plain ones, mixed colors, assorted papers and even with added pockets, tuckspots and tabs!
first time at looking at this. is that die longer than A4?
yes, it's approx 13 inches
Thank you
Thank you Sharon
Something to think about making when eleastic is readily available again.
can i use it with the normal big shot?
yes, but you do need to get the extended (longer) cutting pads.
how do you keep the inner pages from cutting on the fold portion? Mine keep breaking in the center where they are supposed to crease.
