Melody is also important to metal, and I think everyone digs the chord progression on this bad-boy. The chorus and leads are catchy and I think this is why we all like this track. Great job MetallicA!
This is EPIC in every sense and aspect, the perfect closing of a monumental album! Metallica have returned in full glory and unparalleled might! Warmest greetings from Thessaloniki, Greece, to every metalhead all around the globe!
How old are you? I’m just curious, because THAT, first of all, compared to the past.. is utter $&!t. I gave Load, then Reload a fair chance, then gave up. In all that time, I’d be ashamed to have a decal on my car. I saw a photo of Hetfield in cargo shorts and a polo, which was a )&&) abomination. Somebody’s grandfather. There is an age limit to being badass. It does not involve Metamucil.
@@dustinburrows12 , I can understand that you didn't like the album and that's super cool but the whole age talk is totally irrelevant. First of all I don't really understand how cargo shorts & polo shirts affect someone's ability to create and play music. But I haven't written anything about Hetfield so I really don't want to know. Secondly, am I supposedly too young to have an opinion about an album? Is there an age limit to have an opinion? TH-cam comments aren't meant to be evidence-based scientific conclusions, they are simply someone's thoughts hopefully expressed in a well-mannered way. What if I was a 24 years old musical journalist and professional metal guitarist? Would my young age matter? Why? Anyway, just to know, I am a 46 years old next-door guy who happens to own some thousands of records of every kind of music and have been to hundreds of concerts of every kind to music, so I hope to meet your criteria of allowing me to have a saying about 72 Seasons. Sorry, my friend, I strongly disagree with the "How old are you" approach. You haven't been listening to the band for 26 years but here you are, commenting on their latest album. I can totally understand that you didn't like it but in my humble opinion it is an excellent album. Lets just agree that we disagree and I hope I didn't sound too annoyed.
No doubt, the best song of the album. You can feel the pain in James his voice in the song after he divorced with Francesca last year. Great love song and no doubt the best Metallica song of the 21st century. 🤘🏻
I cant stop replaying it. Been a fan since 2006 and while i have loved and enjoyed dm and hardwired, this one hits harder for me. Consistently speaking its my favorite metallica album since becoming a fan. Pitty some of their ex fans cant seem to move past the 80s. I call these fans "mustaines"
It has been almost 22 years since the Black Album and the Unforgiven that I did not get that freakin goosebumps with a Metallica Master Piece (5:15 till 6:40) and then the rise until Kirk's gigantic solo (9:40). I love Metallica since 1983, I am almost 53 y o, I will never stop loving Metallica. Best Band on Earth
The last solo really tears me apart. Perfect ending for a huge album. Somehow I feel this is the very end of a long beautiful journey. Thank you Metallica for 40 years of incredible music ❤
They’re not done yet. We’ll get at least one more album, MAYBE 2. But at the pace they’ve been putting them out since St. Anger, I’d say more likely just one
The lads have no intention of stopping. They can't exist without Metallica, they are fully aware they need it in their lives. Just look at the Stones, Metallica are the Stones of Metal, with respect to longevity. They try to keep themselves in shape (Demons aside). I've been a fan since 87, I was 12 years old and hopefully they'll still be around when I'm 57.
This album is just FULL of feeling. Man, I’m so grateful for it. This song in particular is just so special. It speaks to so many people already. Imagine this live with everyone singing the harmonized “miseryyyyy” towards the end. What a magical time it will be! Well done Met, very well done! 🤘🏻
This song got me emotionally to a special place, I´ve suffered from severe depression since 2018 when my grandma passed away, I mean... the lyrics describe something I´ve been dealing with but somehow haven´t realized yet, the fact of how sometimes we get used to feel sad and empty, even though we try to get better a part of ourselves and our soul is still attached or in love with that misery and sense of darkness. "Misery she loves me, but I love her more" really brought me to tears. I don´t care what self named critics say about this record, 72 seasons really changed a part in me. Thanks Metallica.
Hey man, we share the pain for the loss of our grandmothers and the love for Metallica's music... This song is always clearly inspired by "My friend of misery", a song that was not valued for many years, as it deserved, but I am glad to know that after so many years it has its rightful place. Grande Jason Newsted!!! Y grandes Metallica!!!
@@carlosandresjimenez1257I lost my only grandmother September 16th last year around 1pm I knew it was coming but my heart still hurt inside when I heard the words from one of my dads older brothers “she’s gone man” I miss her but the music of Metallica does help when feeling grief and heartache.
My father passed away 5 years ago and I just could feel a weird feeling but nothing else. He never did anything a father it is supposed to do for his kids. So I just can say that if you had that strong feeling to him, at least you´re luckier one thousand times more than me. This means that as you already had to time to realize, with the right perspective, everything is understood but yes, any loss from a close relative is hard to get over. Keep strong man. This is life itself. I´m sure you´re doing great right now. 🤟
This is one of my favorite Metallica songs ever. It just hits me right where Metallica hit me when I first heard them, but in a different way. Brought a tear to my eye, once again... Thanks boys.
This song really hits me in the feels and has brought me to tears, not just the lyrics, but the music itself is emotionally powerful! I love that this album is soo reflective, it gives an "old man reflecting on life" vibe and it's awesome. Even better is the fact that James is delivering his best vocal performances of his entire career on this album, I personally rate 72 Seasons a 9.5 out of 10! Best Metallica album in decades!! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
@@wiglesworth1 Towards the end of it song becomes more emotional. I wrote that comment while listening the song for the first time and it was half way through the song. Best thing to do. We have all become super critical by over analysing everything because we can with tools like TH-cam. Just stop it and listen to music and you will enjoy more. Prime example is everyone bashing kirks solos. Yes they are not outstanding but the more I liatern to the songs on 72 seasons they just blend into the songs and they seem part of them. So not so much stand alone solos more parts of the melody
The band you've been with and believed in for 40 years and still alive and putting out new albums is a blessing. You will never feel alone when the music of Metallica continues with you on the journey of life.
By far this is the song that hits me the most of this album, it’s such an honest, deep and real song that it’s impossible not to relate with it, I love it, it’s simply one of my favourite Metallica songs of all time. Now being that said, I can’t believe I hadn’t seen the official music video until now. If the song hits me emotionally through its powerful harmonies and lyrics like only a few Metallica songs do, the visual impact of this video is just equally powerful. Thank you for all the hard work everyone involved has put on these projects. I feel alive.
Love the video! Inamorata is already an all-time Metallica classic! The second half with the harmonizing guitars gives me chills and takes me back to the 80's! Long live Metallica!🤘🏼
Magikal!!!! Got to say after listening to each song once, this is the one that stuck out. Now after listening to the album more the others are coming into their own. This is not just any album, but an experience that must be allowed to work its way into your bones. Do hope the video does this tale of misery justice for all!
This song is spectacular, James' voice is sublime, the arrangements are incredible and the video is perfect for the song, Metallica always doing everything right

I just escaped an emotionally abusive marriage. I just recently moved home to the northern states from a southern desert state where the relationship took place. I feel like I escaped the spell of a siren. For anyone who knows what that is. I am the man in this video. It evokes haunting memories of my time in the desert. Die hard Metallica fan here since the Justice days… never has a Metallica song been so gripping for me. This song took a hold of me and opened my eyes to my awful state. In that moment that Saturday morning, seeing this for the first time over a year ago, my life hasn’t been the same. I realized my situation wasn’t normal. Nor was it healthy. I was drowning in a hellish desert. All alone. I’m so thankful to be home with family who loves me after 10 long years. I cry every time I hear this song. Both over the bitter and the sweet. “She’s not what I’m living for”. I still love her. But I’ve come to accept that it was not good. I’m in a better place. Albeit, quite melancholy still. God bless anyone who suffers from abuse. Thank you Lars, Kirk, Rob, and especially James. The best band that ever lived. 🤘🏻

@@UltraJericho I liked the artwork but I don’t really understand. Was this guy hallucinating everything because of dehydration and then died at the end cause of it?
@@blindfoldgang7161 i guess so... My interpretation is that this video represents that the guy falls for the traps and the temptations every time, despite hurting himself or something bad happening every time he does it, every time hes in a hostile situation and sees some figure as a hope, a light in the end of the tunnel, that seduces him and make itself seem like its offering something too good to be true, then, yet again, he follows it and ends up being punished again, until one time it ends up finally killing him and "ending this war" I could tottaly see it as an allegory to either alcohol addiction, being emotionally dependant of someone that hurts you, "not everything that shines is gold", or just temptation in general, wich i think is the most probable.
@@blindfoldgang7161 This video is a metaphor. It's about alcohol addiction. He's thirsty for liquid in the desert, like an addicted person thirsty for alcohol. His path is destructive, facing problems.
This song is easily the best in the album, and one of the best they've made in years. James really found his vocal range in this album, and they play with fluidity and tenacity like they haven't in a while. It feels fresh and new, while feeling reflective and wise. This combined with this excellent video, very reminiscent of spiritual journeys, the reincarnation cycle, etc. I grew up listening to them, they're still the best

But Less than a week ago I was driving back home, just after finishing rehearsaling with my band. And I played 72 Seasons in my car, and finally Inamorata arrived… That final part of the song with that epic guitar melody/solo and Lars’ double bass made me cry for the first time ever with any song. At the 8:52 minute enters my favourite 72 riff and one of my all time Metallicas fav riff that leads in the most unique harmony with vocal lines ever! Is the same time when the male hero of the video sees the female part and giving hands one to another..if you see both hands are equally wounded and traumatized but both choose to move on together as partners with companionship and explore the rest .. The only thing that saves us , are not the savours but our honesty and effort to become and be. To move on the path together with connection and be what we meant to be.

That's what I've been saying, most of the animated/AI videos have been terrible. This masterpiece deserves a well made music video that tells a story just as much as the song itself does, it's going to be very disappointing if we end up with a video like the abomination music video for "Too Far Gone?". The videos for "Room Of Mirrors", "Crown Of Barbedwire", and "Shadows Follow" are great though.
Maybe it is just me, but I could listen this masterpiece on repeat all day without getting tired of it. Just perfection!!

James vocals in this song came out so beautiful. Love this song! Hits hard.
I think is the best vocal performance in the whole album, this is definetly a new level!
Melody is also important to metal, and I think everyone digs the chord progression on this bad-boy. The chorus and leads are catchy and I think this is why we all like this track. Great job MetallicA!
It's different from all other songs, like he recorded these vocals in a different month. He almost sounds like he has a cold. I can't explain it.

Ok Bot. Its sucks
It sounds like something off of Load or Re-hashed. They should have ended the album with a thrasher, not thus weird, long, epic.

what a great joke
How old are you? I’m just curious, because THAT, first of all, compared to the past.. is utter $&!t. I gave Load, then Reload a fair chance, then gave up. In all that time, I’d be ashamed to have a decal on my car. I saw a photo of Hetfield in cargo shorts and a polo, which was a )&&) abomination. Somebody’s grandfather. @@dustinburrows12 You should watch George Carlins' last live shows, old man- bass ass. no limit !

My interpretation is that this video represents that the guy falls for the traps and the temptations every time, despite hurting himself or something bad happening every time he does it, every time hes in a hostile situation and sees some figure as a hope, a light in the end of the tunnel, that seduces him and make itself seem like its offering something too good to be true, then, yet again, he follows it and ends up being punished again, until one time it ends up finally killing him and "ending this war"

@@Supervillain725t is not too long, passes in a blink of a eye - I am old time fan, ajfa is the best, but this amazing too… really special song
@@Supervillain725maybe I'm an old timer, but to my taste bud, I love Master of Puppets Album more than this album, songs like Master of Puppets, Battery, Disposable Heroes, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), they just didn't make song like that anymore , not to mention Orion, and this album is far from my expectation of songs like One, For Whom The Bell Tolls, and early 90's songs like Where Ever I May Roam, The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, I think this album is just ok to listen but not as great as their 80s n 90s album, that's just an old guy opinion, my own personal opinion
Ok Lars. Mediocre
@@bakribaharom9811 I HATE "Nothing Else Matters. " I'm also NOT a fan of 90s Metallica.
I love Metallica, been listening to them since they've been playing, I'm 50 years old and still jam to them daily, Metallica you guys are the best. 💛🖤

Thank you Metallica, you are the greatest band ever. You can't imagine how this song grew feelings inside me
*"LION SUPPLYLION THE NEED!!!!"*
*"LION SUPPLION THE NEED!!!"*
I'm playing this on my phone. I hate ads in the middle of songs
I really love this song, not a day goes by that I don't listen to it. It is a complete work of art. Thank you Metallica for giving me so much happiness.
*"LION SUPPLYLION THE NEED!!!!"*
*"LION SUPPLION THE NEED!!!"*
I know ur right I like that way u think
This is the best song on the album for me chorus is epic ❤️🤘🏻💀
