I have to be honest: when I heard a teaser of the song on instagram, the main riff stayed in my head for two days straight! What a memorable, legendary song and listening and watch the clip is like traveling back in time. A journey through the 72 seasons. Amazing job, I'm so excited to see the show next year! :)
sorry mate, love all of their earlier albums except load and harwired , both crap. death magnetic was good. but this new 72 seasons album is crap and boring. time for them to retire to their mansions and stripper wives now.
Well firstly I reckon this album is actually amazing giving credit to the fact they are over 50 years old so be grateful they still make these at that old. But if they die all we need to do is find the contract for the band and take it over
WOW! This song absolutely knocks it out of the park! 60 yrs old? Hold my beer 🤘 I was born in ‘76, been listening since ‘86, and these guys run hand in hand with my time on Earth. 40yrs within 14,000,000,000 and we’re lucky enough to witness this? Bigger than a lottery win! These guys have pretty much brought me up. Emotional is an understatement. Love them ❤️
75 here and got into them late 86 early 87 thanks to a classmate who said .. Motley Crue sucks (had them written) on my notebook.. this this the real shit here and tossed Master of Puppets cassette on my desk.
Extreme have just released a new song after 15 years. New album in a few months. Track is called Rise. Check it out. Bloody brilliant. Nuno is the solo king 🤴
The song was published 8 hours ago - and now there's more than 8500 thousand comments. For a band as old as I am - that alone - is a masterpiece. Looking forward to buying the original CD - and hoping it will be made as an old-school CD (first I downloaded the Hard Wired to Self Destruct from... somewhere - then ordered the original CD, so good it was). (Edited - by the way - Atlas, Rise! - which is kinda similar to this song - is a brilliant driving song.) Thanks for being there through the years, Metallica - best of metal luck from Latvia.
last cd i bought was hardwired even though i was already in spotify bandwagon... i dont think ill buy cds anymore, maybe i'm buying an LP player and chase de vinyl
When i realised the meaning behind this song i wont stop myself from crying. Youth was something. Thank god i made it out alive and sane, thank you Metallica for the amazing song.
This is a badass track! Seems like yesterday during the summer of 86 when I was 12 my older friend who was in high school dubbed me a tape cassette of side A of Master of Puppets. I had never heard anything like it before and became a instant fan of Metallica, fast forward to now and I'm 48, my wife passed away two years ago April 12th and my 15 year old daughter and I are most likely going to see them in Seattle for my 10th time and my daughter's first. Thanks Metallica for giving my family a new album to help deal with the grief of the loss of my beautiful Wife and Mother. A new Metallica album for me is a huge deal it has been since the release of And Justice for all...
That's hilarious! My first Metallica experience was exactly the same. While visiting my cousin, He dubbed me off Master of Puppets, The thing that should not be, and Sanitarium. ...My life changed forever after those 3 songs. Im 48 also. lol. Also, very sad to hear about you losing your wife.
Me too! A mate at school lent me MOP on cassette. Battery battered my head and I was hooked. I’m now 49 and still a loyal, follower not only in their music but who they are as people. Great you have that bond with your daughter. So,sorry about your loss.
I cant say no more than then that they are to me the best American band ever. No matter what genre. I have been listening to Metallica since I was 12 beginning with Ride the Lightning. I am so glad to be a part of the Tallica family. They are a huge impact in life. This song is riffy and speedy James sounds amazing Kirk is STILL on fire. Rob is just bringing the heaviness and energy. Lars, annoying as he can be, is a huge part of their sound and production and sound. Love you Lars!!
I'd have to say your comments is one of the most accurate I've ever read. I totally agree, especially on the Lars comment, yes, he can be annoying and even comes out as conceded, but he is a major part on the arrangements sound etc. I have been listening since RTL also but I was a bit younger ;-) - rock on.
@@seriousswen3958 Nope. Bands are from where they were formed. The Police is a British band. Metallica is American. Also, all Americans have immigrant roots.
What does age have to do with how a band gets someone's blood flowing? That's one of my pet peeves is people like I'm only 12 and I listen to korn or I'm 49 and metallica gets my blood flowing age is just a number don't matter if you was 99 or 12
At this point I don't even care what they put out. I'm just so glad they are still around and still making new music. These guys did so much for metal music. I support them not matter what they put out
Never thought about voice processors with ai?? Auto tune etc will make your voice shine! Don’t believe me? Ask all modern pop starts, none of them singing without it, that’s why they all getting into notes as a greatly tuned piano😂😂😂 no wonder James voice sounds nicer today vs 40 years ago lol
@@Logic7repair just saw them live in Minneapolis. He's still got it. James sounds awesome. The only other metal band that has this kind of staying power is Iron Maiden.
It's crazy how it takes me back to walking in the arena with a couple buddies at 17 and how it never has left my thoughts and now 51 this music still gives me the same high as it did than. Oh how I miss them good ole days.
We stood outside the civic center during the kill em all album, got to see the and justice for all for my first concert and than four more times throughout my life. I still have all my concert tickets and looking back at who I got to see and it literally takes ya back to that time. Hell I miss headbangers ball, now it's everything but...
Everyone tells me they suck live. Whatever the case. I’m still fittin to see them. How could you pass up that opportunity. It’s an actually historical group.
First album opener with bass. Absolutely lovely, the intro was amazing, the chorus was killer, the harmonies were beautiful as well as James' vocals. And Kirk's solo, despite not being as good as previous solos, is still the best out of the 4 singles so far. What a way to start the day 😎
@@pacobatman1988 I love this single, but the more I hear of the album, I'm wishing they St. Angered it and cut solos almost entirely. Everyone else is firing on all cylinders while Kirk is driving a bumper car where the accelerator is replaced by a wha pedal.
@@virvum_cypher It's a shame, but it's true, after his EP I had higher hopes, we shall wait for the full release to see if he at least gets one or two decent solos

I always get super nervous when Metallica releases a new single. It’s like when your favorite team is in the Super Bowl and you know there’s a good chance they could lose but you want more then anything for them to win. This time my team won!! 🎉❤
Oh my goodness. I really needed this today! Thanks guys, I’ve been listening since I was a little girl on my dad’s knee. I know he’ll be so geeked to hear this song and he’ll call me tonight to talk about it. We’re going to see you in Detroit this November and I can’t wait. I’ve never seen you live but my dad has seen you 27 times since 1984.
James voice has been the best part of the last 2 records. This one's a solid offering for sure but God do I miss that massive guitar tone from the black album. Oh well it's at least impressive that at their age they're still able to come up with songs this good.
I love this new simple style a la Kill Em All theyre going for. Fits well with new Papa Het voice and effective. Hammer to the egg. The egg being me. Go Metallica!🤘🤘
Amazes me that Metallica now at 59/60 years old can still rock out to a 7.5 minute song!. Been a fan since the age of 10 now 37. Got my first guitar and amp at Costco 27 years ago and the first song I learned to play was Nothing else Matters. Seen them live 8 times!! I can’t wait for the full album to release!🤘🏾🤘🏾
It took them years to play Spit out the bone live. They are not is such a great shape. Lars drumming is as basic as it gets and Kirk solos are bad in studio and worse live.
@@fredriksvard2603 I could see that too, I just cant see "how" they'd open with Lux, considering they always seem to have something special that they walk out to. Maybe they can get creative with it?
not arguing, but there are independent artists that make it to # 1 on the billboard charts, above artist like miley cirus and lady gaga....with absolutely no record label, no money spent in advertising, doing everything themselves. record labels are not necessary and they all limit the artists on what they can and can not say/do.
The last track on the new album, Inamorata, clocks in at a whooping 11 minutes and 10 seconds! It will be their longest song ever once it's released. Can't wait to hear it! Currently that title is held by the uncut/extended version of The Outlaw Torn, which is 10.43. Their cover of Mercyful Fate (11.11) on Garage Inc also deserves a mention but since that's not a Metallica song it doesn't really count.
There's many, many, many metal bands that are still making epic long songs over 10 minutes. This is common knowledge to any metalhead that doesn't live under a rock. Maybe stop listening to Top 40 radio, if 3 minute pop songs is your world.
In my case this one is the first song from the new album that I liked. All the previously presented songs were like white noise to me. Yet, this one sounds too familiar in some places, as if it was at Hardwired... already. Good song, nonetheless.
I’m 16 now and I’ve been a fan since I turned 13. I’ve seen them live 3 times and they absolutely killed it every time!!! These guys changed my life and really helped me get through everything. Not crazy at all. Without Metallica, I would not have learned to play the guitar, which in turn has gotten me through the worst parts of my life.
I feel very similar
I have to be honest: when I heard a teaser of the song on instagram, the main riff stayed in my head for two days straight! What a memorable, legendary song and listening and watch the clip is like traveling back in time. A journey through the 72 seasons. Amazing job, I'm so excited to see the show next year! :)
I hope these 4 dudes live forever so they can continue to grace the world with their much needed music.
sorry mate, love all of their earlier albums except load and harwired , both crap. death magnetic was good. but this new 72 seasons album is crap and boring. time for them to retire to their mansions and stripper wives now.
they won't but let's just enjoy them while we still can
They have to do a better album next time, this sucks
Well firstly I reckon this album is actually amazing giving credit to the fact they are over 50 years old so be grateful they still make these at that old.
But if they die all we need to do is find the contract for the band and take it over
Soooooo correct
This takes me back to when I first heard them as a toddler. They've still got that fire

Kirks riff in this song is the best he’s written in a long time
The song was published 8 hours ago - and now there's more than 8500 thousand comments.

All I can say is, thank you for every song you have given us. They have helped us all in some way. Metal therapy at its best.
I wish you and your daughter a great concert and all the best for the future. \m/
Sorry for your loss, brother. MetallicA Family is with you.
Metallica is back? At least you don't have to hide your wife? 🤘 Time marches on...

In a world of three minute pop songs it’s good to see Metallica still has the balls to put out an eight minute banger.
And supposedly not even the longest of the album
What would really get me is a instrumental just like old times.
