Thanks for your hood tip. You have been the first video that I have seen that suggests to check it. I will try it tomorrow. Thank you!!

Appreciate the hood tip as well. Just picked up a used Ford Flex and the remote start wasn't working - thanks to this video, I found out the little rubber stopper on the sensor is missing.

On my 2014 Fusion Energi, there isn’t a plunger under the hood that I could find, but I exercised the yellow hood release and closed the hood with more force. Magically, the remote start began to function normally. Before, I was getting the blinking red light on my fob.

Thanks for that tip. My Checkengine light came on last week because of a Smog fault.

My remote start works to turn the car on but turns off after 15-30 seconds and I don’t know why. 2016 Focus.

It is a common problem on Ford vehicles. It could be due to engine checking, but very often it is due to the battery. System monitors voltage and tachometer signals and if something changes there it will shut off. Try testing the battery and cleaning battery terminals and inspect wiring. I would also leave battery disconnected for 15 min and then reconnect to see if it will reset

@@QuiteAlright Thanks for the reply. I’ve actually changed my battery in the last few months so it is fresh. Not sure about the wiring though, maybe there’s corrosion of the wire ends? Sorry, I don’t know much about cars so not sure exactly what to do.

@@iKevinF No problem.Yes there could be some corrosion causing it. If you can't figure it out you'll have to have it scanned as there might be some codes in the module which will point towards the problem

@@QuiteAlright Ok thanks. Ford told me it would cost $140 to diagnose so I’ll try myself first.
