- In this video, I show how you can get your remote start on your Ford vehicle to start working again.
This is a common occurrence and is very easy to remediate.
Start the vehicle and press the remote start button within one second and hold for ten seconds. Then stop the vehicle and open, then shut the door.
lock the vehicle using the remote.

This helped me with a 2020 Ford Explorer. I do have to double (or triple) lock the doors before double tapping the remote start button turns the engine on.

Did your explorers remote start work and stop working? Mine never had it and I’m trying to see if I can turn it on. It was a display vehicle so I think they removed the feature but the button and options are still on the car

I just bought a 2015 Ford explore . The remote starter is not working and I have done everything that you have told me. Is there any way you could show a video where the actual starter device is located under the hood I have a feeling that they probably took it off where I bought it

would this work for Ford Focus 2017 ? the Car does not any problem even the Check engine light is not working but I don't know why remote start is not working ???
This worked on my 2017 cord but I did go in after several tries cut the remote start off in the system panel cut the car off then cut it back on and turn d remote start back on…then after second try of holding down the button for 30-45 seconds it worked! If this didn’t work last resort was disconnecting the battery for a bit to let the car re-set. Hope this helps! Thanks for the info in the video ❤!

Just got a new (used 2011) with remote start, realized after watching this that I need to fix my Rear Passenger Side Door Open problem first. Seems to be quite a few videos out there on broken wires in the wiring harness by the hinge, which is what I am suspecting. Thanks for getting me in the right direction.
Update on this, I fixed the door issue and it still did not work. Since it only came with one key, I got a key and programmer set and cut and programmed the key and the new key works, so it appears there is also an issue with the button on that remote. I also noticed that the panic button does not work on that remote either.
My main remote start on my 2011 Ford fusion hybrid is a separate one button remote. My spare works! It's just the battery! I need to replace that! Nit all of what you are doing!

Found this on a website after googling; For the safety of you and your vehicle, remote start will not work under certain conditions. Here are some reasons your remote start system may fail:
The ignition is on.
The alarm system has been triggered.
Remote start has been disabled.
The hood is open.
The vehicle is not in park.
The vehicle battery voltage is low.
The service engine soon light is on.
My issue is that because the hood light is on. I had to remove the front bumper to replace the headlight bulbs for LEDs and ever since then it said my hood was open. I have yet to spray that connector with electronic cleaner because it’s connected but still saying the hood is open. Hopefully this information helps out anyone who’s diagnosing the same issue with remote start

Leaving this for anyone who this method did not work:
2016 Explorer, this did nothing, in the end I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes which forced everything to reinitialize and now it works again.
I tested it out with partial success. I thought the key fob was the problem - out of sync. The reality is: the key fob's remote start function only works if I press the lock button once, just before I press the remote start button twice, even though the car is already locked. This could be the case because the problematic key fob is an aftermarket product and not an original Ford key fob. However, I programmed an Otofix watch as a key fob (with FDRS) and there is absolutely no problem using the remote start function, even with the voice command.

I have a 2013 limited explorer that should have remote start. It was a display vehicle so I suppose they removed it and it only beeps like I locked it and flashes the hazards when I try starting it. Is there anyway I can turn it on or will I have to install something
I also got a new key today from a locksmith and it tried cranking once but that was it. Back to the same old beep and flash

I tried about 12 times and it just flashes and beeps the horn when i try to remote start🤔 maybe i have a different issue.
Same here. After replacing the battery on my remote my remote start won't work.
@@Eddy2002v i found out that if your check engine light is on (no matter what it's on for) the remote start won't work. Hope that helps

It's stupid. You have to push the lock 3 times. Then, short press the x2 button once, then long press the x2 button before it starts.
Why is it like that? I also must do it like that. Everyone else just push the lock button once and then the start button (2x) twice. And thats it!
@mariuszzz78 only thing I can think of is. It assures the doors are shut and locked before starting, and also having it like that keeps you from accidently starting your car with your key fob in a pocket or purse.
