Props to Mazda for still offering a larger 4 cylinder with no turbo, a manual, and an automatic that isnt a CVT.

@@evelynkinson5524 ????? yes I know. I wasn't commenting on the Mazda 3 in this video, I was just saying that Mazda still offers the 2.5L FWD Mazda 3 without a turbo and with a manual. The 2.5L is a large 4 cylinder now compared to the 1.5L's and such.
The turbo model only have an automatic because the manual transmission can’t handle the torque the engine put out.

Cork! I got it!! As an owner of the non turbo. This car grabs people’s eyes and attention. I left work the other day, and my coworkers were just staring at my car. And I was like what’s up? nothing your car is so cool 😎 and I was like ok.

I agree with you, in that this car would be really fun to drive if it had a custom exhaust, some Michelin PS 4s, a cold air intake and a tune. One of the best cars I ever owned was a Mazda 626 turbo. So their quality is a given. Keep up the great work.

You can buy the OEM SD card from Ebay for $50. You’d have to be nuts to pay the dealers price.

It has Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
The vehicle in the video, based on features and base price shown at 0:24 has the Premium Plus Pkg, which in the U.S. now includes navigation. It's true that Apple Car Play/Android Auto makes native navigation a lot less necessary, but at least in the 2019 Mazda3, that navigation enables the nice benefit of projecting the prevailing speed limit on the head up display.

Uncorked, nice one Sarah! Mazda was originally a company that produced cork. Love this Mazda. IMHO they build some of the best cars on the market today. Hopefully their desire to go upmarket doesn’t make them unobtainable for us average people.

Fun review, Sarah! If I had a request it would be for you to take this on some sand/dirt and see how the AWD helps with the launch as well as how it kicks in vs a Subaru style AWD system or a RWD biased AWD system.

On one hand, I appreciate that Mazda gave us this at all, but on the other hand, I can’t help but think this was a missed opportunity. Personally I would have liked to see just a few more under the skin changes and handling upgrades to support the extra power. I think they could have made this slightly more athletic while maintaining the luxurious overall demeanor. But as Sarah said, perhaps that’s where the aftermarket will come in for this...

Nice review! Just bought mine with polymetal grey and red interior. I agree it’s very driver centric and doesn’t give a lot to your passengers.. but I love this car! Just what I was looking for. Definitely give it a test drive if you’re thinking about one.
Great review Sara. I think a turbo 2.5 liter should be able to put down more hp than that these days, especially going against a pretty nice group of cars.

Mazda hit the design of this out of the park. Such a stunning look; especially in hatch form. 😍 This and the Miata are my favorite models from Mazda.

Sarah, your enthusiasm for that Mazda really shows through. Great job covering some of the many finer points, and I would share your disappointment at the lack of some of the more common amenities that other makers are including in their models.
Keep eulogizing for the wider availability of the manual gear box. These cats will soon begin to listen.

To this day, I own a stock 1st Gen Speed3, and still runs like a champ with no issues. But with the new Mazda 3 available for 2022, it looks like I’ll be be pullin’ the trigger on one. Your review definitely solidified my decision, and besides, in my experiences with this platform, it was a no brainer😇🙏🥰Thanks dear for the entertaining review 👍
Neat! Yay for the review. I have the '19 n/a awd sedan. As for the expensive map thing, $50 on ebay for a SD card but the slot is in the center consol. I did cork it under the hood and a muffler delete (I recommend adding a resonator for the crazy drone). Still debating a tune. There's an awd dynamic down the road from my work. And there's an aftermarket supercharger but I heard 4 people have blown their engines so I don't recommend it. Thank you Sarah and algo's
It may not be high performance. But if you want a little luxury, some extra power, and a hatch, an upper end trim of the GTI is pretty much your only other choice.

What happened to you new work shop?
I owned a 2006 Mazda 3 hatch with the 2.3 engine and loved it. It was a great car in many ways and had well bolstered sport seats that hugged me perfectly. Miss that car and not a big fan of what they did with this newer version or generation. I prefer the look of my 06 over the newbies.

I traded my 2019 GLI for one of these and couldn't be happier. I mean, a 6 speed manual would be nice, but probably wouldn't be better. There's so much adaptive cruise tech that would be worse with a manual. That's just facts. Great car.
oh Mazda. you bring me back memories of my past with a 1989 model 323F iGT, 1.8L, 140bhp. last year with no cat. It had no rev limiter and boy did it like to rev...

I'd say that the reference was to Corksport, as in them uncorking -> unlocking the potential out of the car. Mazda tuning is their specialty. The Corksport name taken from the reference of Mazda being a cork company, of course.
Hopefully Cobb gets in on the G-Turbo tuning.

I just bought this exact car. I like it more than my 2016 GTI autobahn (manual).
I’ll be driving it from AZ to CO later this month. The adaptive cruise and traffic jam assist should make it easy.

I currently have a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback with a manual transmission and it’s really fun to drive! If Mazda made a turbo with a manual transmission I’d trade mine in immediately!

I think you may have gotten the MB CLA AMG 45 confused with the MB A AMG 45.
And while this is clearly somewhat of a competitor in the same performance space (as the AMG 35 or Golf R etc.), and maybe a better starting point for modifying on your own, overall I don't think this car is in the same class as the Golf R or A AMG 35 or 45 when it comes to comfort and design.
Really interesting where this M3 lands tho, seems a rather unique niche segment, perhaps somewhat more directly competing with the Cupra Leon or such? Tho much more subtle, as you pointed out.

Sarah the best Corrosion Preventive for electric connections is Truck Lite Dielectric grease, put it on all and any connections ... battery posts... light bulbs all ... all electric connections... make sure all corrosion and rust is all removed then put the dielectric grease on ... in 50 years I have never had a problem with corrosion on my vehicles.
Enjoined my old Mazda rotaries. RX3 was my first car.

corksport! lol I have a 2014 3 with the 155HP 6 speed and i love my fully loaded hatch but do miss my 2017 2.5L but totaled that few years back and safety features saved my life. Very solid built car and love this brand.

even though i feel for you for being without an abandoned warehouse, i also feel it's better for your safety.
I owned a 3 with the non turbo 2.5 and manual and it was an excellent car. It was already plenty quick, so I know this turbo is super quick. Mazda definitely needs to offer a dual clutch if they're not gonna offer a manual tho.
