Honestly this reminds me of videos by Summoning Salt where he talks about speed running history and I get hyped every time cause he talks about the insane lengths that people go through to get the record time lower and lower and lower and basically every time people think a game can't be run anymore flawlessly someone always finds some huge new strat that takes the record down a few seconds it's inspiring honestly.

8:48 is the dream, that perfect control slide on the cutting edge of your grip, is what you want to do in EVERY corner... But you can't... But you try, and that's what gets you hooked on cars, driving and Gran Turismo!
Absolutely. That slide was perfect. Just a small enough slide to get the rotation so I could then get on the power earlier. Shame that was only a 1 in 20 event through that corner 😅
@@Super_GT You're amazing, man, I watch all your videos! Have you tried GRID: Legends? It's not as deep or as precise as GT7, but it's fun to drive, has good modes and the best Story Mode of any racing game I've ever seen or played! You should try it if you ever want a change of pace, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

Some of the circuit experiences one lap attacks are much more tougher than the majority of the licence tests.
Not to mention the 1 lap Magic missions
Yeah, Circuit experience being harder than license tests is a joke. I'm so fed up using the correct apex and being short 2+ seconds for gold everytime but at least there's no reward.
I had to turn on TC on that Mazda on Trial Mountain experience. Too difficult without to drive.
Even the long lap in Nurburgring in BMW M6 that's something I was struggled with.

This is still possible to get bronze on this with CS, managed to do it earlier with a second in hand for the bronze!
@@olliedeath the one in IB I’ve got the silver on with the CSs somehow, but I was like 9 tenths off on the IA one, and just didn’t bother going any further, other stuff to grind

I keep wondering how much better I could do with a good wheel set up. Feels like the regular controllers can't drive smoothly enough, at least for me.
Wheels are harder to use I can’t beat the 56 second mark tho it is my second day in wheel he has years on me
The way this car moves in the replay is incredible
Another tip for those is to add an offset to your ghost and that way you can see yourself in front of you to judge corners and braking zones better. None of that 'im inside a ghost' driving that can actually be a distraction.
I briefly tried this for S-10 and I ended up getting too fixated on the ghost and baking too late 😅 I found personally it was best just to remove the ghost and do my best to feel out the best lines
What helped me personally was to display the "Demonstration Ghost". The Demonstration Ghost is always 1, 2 or even more seconds faster than the gold time and also not perfect. Using that you can easily see where you're losing time.
Yeah. .3 seconds seems to be the sweet spot. Also, when you're times get closer to gold, switch from the demonstration ghost to your own ghost. So you can see where you're gaining time and losing time.
I'm the opposite I get much more distracted if I offset the ghost lol, I prefer it "inside". But it may work better for some people I can see that

I’ve been watching your channel for a while and you have inspired me to get a wheel and play GT7. So I did just that today. I tried a few cars out on that daily race but the best I’ve done with so far was with the R34.
I managed a 1:41.8 after a couple of hours practise on deep forest, first time using a wheel. I know it’s not the fastest time ever but I was super proud of that and it gave me a pole start against other drivers of my rating.
But now watching this I know I’ll do better when I get on next!

Changing to the wheel can be quite a learning curve, even if a irl driver. Stick with it. Just stay as smooth as you can and you can't help but get quicker..it's all practice

When I first watched you do this and said 4th gear is the only gear you need, I took that advice and golden it in 4 or 5 goes, which was surprising because I'm not that good of a driver.
This is an good example of how grinding works:
- You must have time to spend griding the skill you want to
- Have to get your fundamentals right (in this case car control, apex, knlowege of the track)
- Start splitting in small sectors (in this case are turns/breaking points but could be paragraphs of an article; chords on the guitar; parts of a dance move)
- being smart enough to know what are you getting right and what are you getting wrong (a teacher could help also)
- aim for consistency and not to the results strait (better laps not the one magic lap from the beginning)
- trimming your mistakes
- and voila you have actually done it.
Remember you have to respect your limits and get good conditions to grind.
Works for everything that you want to do. Slow and steady.

I love how you include so many of your failed attempts. Just goes to show how much effort goes into getting an outstanding time like that
The best part of pushing so hard is you get some insight into what quirks both the car and physics engine has, such as maintaining a very flat amount of torque to the rear wheels with precise throttle. It almost looks like going more than 90% throttle somehow auto spins, but i'm sure that is just what being on the limit looks like in a heavy, rwd car with lowish downforce and a flat torque curve (in GT7). Something about it reminds me alot of the old Enthusia game on PS2 actually, with RWD cars being seemingly exaggerated but quite drivable when you see how sideways the limit is.
Love to see R4M Scott Speed right behind you in 4th overall on leaderboards. Two legends neck and neck.
I'd honestly love a series on this for the licence tests you genuinely enjoy or others say are tricky
In my role as track day instructor, I got to drive the AMG GT R in that same green colour and everything. In real life, it has a yellow knob that you rotate to adjust traction control and the traction control is absolutely one of the most advanced systems that I've ever seen. Many of the customers and guests with any track experience can just hop right in and ring its neck right out within minutes. However, turning that traction system off results in much less skill and many more scary moments.
Still, I've gotta say that GT7 got the TCS-off physics spot on in-game and I was able to pass the test with ease from familiarity and previous experience. Very impressed with the game's recreation of the car
For anyone interested in my thoughts/review of the AMG GT R:
Arguably, the best part of the AMG GT R is its suspension package and choose-your-adventure traction control system. The ability of that car to absorb bumps on race tracks without becoming unsettled or unstable in particular is where it shines against its rivals, like the Nissan GT-R (which feels significantly more cumbersome), Ferrari (which is also very good but in an Italian "makes a lot of noise but feels very skittish to drive" kinda way), and Porsche 911 GT3RS (which is the best handling on smooth tarmac but a touch skittish on bumps)
Overall, the AMG GT R is remarkably grippy and quite potent, although its width is ultimately its downfall in local Canadian tracks which are narrow and technical, and, in our case, featured pylon chicanes to keep speeds below 200 (usually 140) km/h or less. The width just makes it feel like trying to navigate a very fast cargo ship through a very small canal, which is not an issue that the much narrower Porsche dealt with
I've driven a few cars in my GT7 stable IRL, and can confirm that they essentially nailed every one of them. One detail that really stands out is race exhaust on the 3000GT. It's uncanny.

@@AndrewGeierMelons cars I've driven that I was referring to are the Focus RS, 3000GT, S550 Mustang GT, Mini Cooper S (I actually drove an R52, not an R53), and I've driven a few 996s, but have only ridden in a GT3. There are a couple others which im just not recalling, but they have all felt remarkably close to the real deal, even the ones that "miss the mark" compared to the truly spot-on examples. Just to be clear, these cars are in my GT7 stable. My real "collection" is far, far, far more humble than even my small collection in the game; I've just got a terrific variety of friends with some very interesting cars.

I loved this license test. Initially I thought, how the hell am i going to beat this one after seeing the daunting time for gold. Eventually I went aggressive, braked later, abused the apexes and eventually got the gold. Loved the challenge in this one
Yeh same. I’m not quite at gold yet but last night I had one of those sessions where I was consistently hacking 10th after 10th off with each run and went from something terrible like a 59.4 to a 58.3 (gold is now 58.0 as it’s been updated)
So satisfying! Long way to go yet!
That was beautiful to watch, dancing the car around the corners and watching it rotate. Listening to the throttle to see whether it's making the car turn or gripping up and going.

8:12 the amount of times I can use that line from Thor (Piss off ghost) is higher than I first realized haha. Love doing time trials if the track is fun, great work on that track!
Was stuck on this one for awhile and managed to get it on just the second try after watching this. Think the part that helped the most was just holding it in 4th gear after the second turn, thanks man.

That's exactly why I am here! Like wtf? I can do 56,7-57 regularly, but my god 56.0 is HARD. You go faster with no traction control, but it is pain in the ass to keep Mercedes stable at the second part of the test and if you try traction control, you're 1sec off of your usual time. Fcking hell...
Took me 5 hours there is a YT user called TrophyTom, gives a good breakdown and shares his settings as well, I only made it because of him uptill IA-10 did not need any help, but my god is it tough...

The first seconds reminded me of the license test for that Mercedes Benz 190E full lap at the nurburgring. I think that was on GT4. It literally put me in tears.

Or maybe a leaderboard where you can see the times of all the people you follow on GT, that way we can see our friends and also the best of the world if you decide to follow Gallo, Beauvois, Hizal, etc.

Your video helped me get the gold. Initially I dreaded the challenge, but it turned out to be one of my favourites. Took me about 3 hours, half an hour of trying after achieving 57:924.
Love the message in the end! The most fun I had racing in video games was against myself, even from PS1 days, until today... Online racing lobbies are a different kind of challenge, mostly for my zen hahah

Done it following you guide and adding a ghost after one try! Nurburgring is my favourite track, got a 55.500, the time for it had changed to 56.00 for gold. But they can’t stop us keep trying to make the game harder we know all the secrets💯 and all the bends 💯
Keep going Super GT! You jumped in improvement three tenths in one go, surely another tenth and a half is possible. Go for that record!

I spent 2 nights after work trying to get it down to gold.
Just took it down a tenth at a time and kept practicing and practicing and each time I learned something new that could help me push the car.
This test REALLY emphasizes high speed control, braking and keeping a smooth driving line, maintaining momentum and maintaining grip on low speed corners. F-ing insane and I grew to love this track again, these corners are amazing.
The "in, in, in, in, in, in" had me crying 😂
Got GT7 just awhile ago, decided to get all of my licenses done (I had IB and needed to do IA and my Super License). And I completed everything in IA with gold first try (except the annoying rain one with the A110 which took 3 tries for gold) and when I got onto this final exam, since I know the Nürburgring so well I just got gold right away. Funny how that works, cause they made it even stricter at 56 seconds flat.
It took less than 30 minutes to gold IA and start and finish the Super License. Tomorrow I intend to gold the Super License final exam with the 917.
Get in There Lewis! What a run you absolutely nailed the AI-10. Oh, btw, Jimmy Broadbent just called you out to beat his record at the Spa test with wet conditions driving the Porsche 917k.

Just gonna add that I've managed to reach .56,8 which really pleases me even though there was room for improvement. Having the demo ghost instead of my own did the trick for me I guess, it was less distracting cause I always had a great start to match

I know I am late to the game on this, and I am brand new to the GT franchise or any driving game for that matter. I love your content. Been plying now for about a month, only about 3 hours a night if I’m lucky. So my challenge is to complete it in 56.000 for the gold after and update at some point as I understand it. OMG was that hard! It took me three days and last night at 1:00 in the morning, I finally did it at 55.995. 🎉🎉🎉 let’s rejoice!!

Golding the Superlicense final is by far the hardest of the license challenges with that 917 in the wet at Spa.

It's good to see someone with a high end steering wheel taking the same kind of hard knocks in improving their times. The time for gold now is 56.000 and I managed 56.005 with a game pad. I'd love a wheel!!

@@danielstokker True. I've noticed in a lot of challenges that the demo car sits really high in the gears (so when i'm in mid revs 3rd, they're low rev 4th), even in rally. Need to get used to that

Another great video! SuperGt would you be up for making an in depth tuning guide for different type of cars. Im having issues as a pretty new player understanding how I should tune an FF car or an 4WD car for example. I imagine the front rear weights have to be differently tuned, what should the breaking offset be like etc? I tuned my FF car but in daily races people just seem to fly past me in the same car even when I tuned it, it most come down to customising our setups a bit? I dont know where to start and different youtuber videos tell different things that counter each others views on setups.
