This series gave us so much. Dooku deleting the archives, the fact that he was still in the Jedi order at the start of episode 1 and Qui-Gons death was the last straw. Anakin unknowingly training Ashoka to survive order 66, Ashoka being present at Padmés funeral. And correct me if I’m wrong, but I think she purifies the inquisitors red crystal to get her white lightsabers.
We defo need more, different stories of other Jedi we might not know about. Even a tales of the sith, we could know more about young Palpatine, Maul etc

Dooku had already left the order at the events of the phantom menace. He went home to Serenno to help building the planet but Yoda allowed him to keep his saber. He was still welcome at the temple and visited often. That's why he's still there in that episode.

I get why everyone says they wish these episodes could have been longer I feel the same way but the ability of the creators to tell such an impactful story in such a short amount of time is amazing. There are literally thousands of shows/movies that have a run time that's 3 or more times longer but have nowhere near that storytelling. This series as short as it is is definitively one of the best in terms of flushing out more of the lore in Star Wars. It's a win in my book and a middle finger to anyone who says Star Wars isn't good anymore.

For me Dooku's fall is truly heartbreaking....right until he decides to give Master Yaddle "Peace". During Dooku's life, the Jedi had gone from protecting the people of the Republic to protecting the Republic. The Jedi Council only accepted like-minded people becoming an echo chamber that promoted rules, caution, and indecision. None of the Council could really think outside the box. Think about this, the Jedi made a big deal of Dooku leaving the Order but Yaddle stepped down from the Council in protest over Qui Gon's death and disappeared, vanished without a word, yet the Council did nothing to investigate.

FINALLY got around to actually watching these on Patreon; so good! Great to see more backstory on Dooku's fall and his motivation that ultimately led to it (in addition to obviously Palpatine's manipulation). He honestly had a similarly tragic fall to Anakin. Wanted what was best for the people and saw that the Jedi as an institution had lost sight of that and thus what they truly stood for. Unfortunately, like you alluded to, he went about things the wrong way - in no small part thanks to Palpatine's manipulation - but it definitely makes you sympathize with Dooku's position more given this new information.
Was cool to see Ahsoka's origin story of how her Force sensitivity was discovered and how Anakin's intense training allowed her to survive Order 66! And she made EASY work of that Inquisitor lol, what a bad ass!

1st episode made me facepalm. What kind of idiot mother will take her 1-year old child to hunt? How are you gonna shoot a rifle when her head is right under your shoulder, how do you know that she won’t cry and scare the prey, how are you gonna chase the prey? How are you gonna protect her from a predator…oh… And this child, who doesn’t understand what’s going on and thought that tiger is just playing games with mommy, who doesn’t even talk yet, who never used the Force before, somehow not only stops the tiger from eating her, not only convinces it to give her a ride, but somehow makes it to bring her to the village which it would never come close to because it knows it would be shot…She didn’t even know in which direction the village was from them! Even Ezra, who isn’t a great character, had real trouble with calming down animals or just making them feel his emotions, and he was a teenager with some basic Force training! Bravo Dave Filoni, you made Ahsoka a Mary Sue. And the weird thing - in next episode she is failing again and again! Does that mean that training makes her worse?

A key thing to remember is that during the prequel era, we aren’t seeing the Jedi at their peak. We’re seeing them a thousand years after their peak, as they’ve gradually gotten comfortable and lost their way, becoming arrogant and complacent. At this point, their days are already numbered.

  • @MeyaRoseGirl

Dooku's arc was interesting and clarifying, but it didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know. We knew from Attack of the Clones that Jango Fett was recruited by Darth Tyranus (Dooku's sith name) to create the clone army, and that he did it using Sifo Dyas' credentials and likely also used those credentials to delete Kamino from the archives. That was a bit more spelled out in The Clone Wars season 6. We also knew the Clones needed to take 10 years to grow, so Dooku must have already been under Sidious' influence during The Phantom Menace. This just showed us the final fall, and what happened to Yaddle. (She is actually in The Phantom Menace, in the council scenes, but she has no lines, and she's missing from the end of the movie.) It's creepy to think that the Council was on Naboo for the funeral and then that huge party at the end, totally unaware that Dooku turned and murdered Yaddle. It really was too easy for Sidious to deceive them.
I feel like this show should have been called "Flaws of the Jedi" because it so blatantly points out everything they did wrong. "It's a lousy test." Anakin was of course, right, and as a result, Ahsoka is arguably the best defensive swordsman in the series. (Maul is the best offensive swordsman, in my opinion.)

But Anakin is not moody for no reason. He's right entirely. That was a simple standard test that in no way challenged Ahsoka. Her ability in that test was a joke compared to actual combat. These kinds of arrogant oversimplified holding back potential in favor of tradition is why the Jedi were taken by surprise and became extinct. They got lazy and Palpatine made them pay for it. Anakin can see this as well as Dokuu and Qui Gon could.

The issue with the Jedi seem to be being too focused on the system and the big picture. They maintain the Republic, and miss how it's system are subverted by the senators, including Palpatine. They maintain their own spiritual system, and miss why it isn't working for Anakin. They stick to the rules, and miss why it drove Dooku and Ahsoka who do follow their system away from them, and caused Qui-Gon to keep his distance.

Palpatine's corruption is a topic I'd debate any time. You see I don't think he's corrupt in any way. Corruption implies a taint, or a poisoning that eventually changes someone. Palpatine had ALWAYS been Darth Sidius. The face of the kindly old senator is quite simply a lie; a facade to elicit the support he needed to place himself into the role he was stealing. His motives were never "poisoned or tainted" They were pure from day one. So he's not corrupt, exactly; evil, yes absolutely, but not corrupt. He's in fact incorruptible from his determined path. If he makes a decision it's done. No one's changing his mind. That in itself shows an incorruptible mind.

Just wanted to point out a few things both from questions you asked and extended universe info.
    1. Ahsoka lost her lightsabers in the series finale of the Clone Wars during the crash. They were later picked up by Vader.
    2. The fake name she used in the last episode "Ashla" is the ancient name for the light side of the force i Star Wars. Bogan is the dark side.
    3. As pointed by a lot of people in other videos Dooku used Sifo Dyas's access code in order to delete Kamino's information which means he wasn't a member of the order at the time. Sifo Dyas was Dooku's best friend and a Jedi heavily proficient in seeing the future and actually foresaw the Clone Wars. Dooku killed him and then used his name to make the clone army with the kaminoians.

The Jedi are more corrupt than the Sith in this era. They seriously needed to be purged which makes it easier to understand Dooku’s frustration. I don’t believe Dooku was “corrupted” by Sidious. The Jedi pushed him to that extent.

Dooku wasn’t actually a jedi anymore by the time of Phantom Menace. He left the order 10 years prior (I think) to be Count of Serenno. But he left on good terms with the order. They let him keep his saber and he would visit the temple. This was one of his visits. Hence why he hasn’t met Obi-Wan yet.
Dooku thought things would get better because Sidious lied to him. He had no idea about the Empire plan, he truly believed in the separatist side and thought they could/would win. That’s why he’s so shocked when Palpatine tells Anakin to kill him.
    Close. Organa
Rex is presumably working with the empire to keep his cover. Or doing whatever he was doing during Bad Batch. A clone, a servant of the empire, hanging around with some random person who matches the description of a wanted jedi? That wouldn’t be a smart move.
She left both her sabers behind on the moon they crashed on in the Clone Wars finale. To make it seem like she died. She’s trying not to draw attention and out herself, and if she has a saber to use, there’s a higher possibility of that.

He knew about the Empire. He planted order 66 chips in clones and he told Obi-Wan that Darth Sidious is in control of everything. He planned to rule Empire himself by overthrowing Palpatine, that's why he said to Obi "Join me and together we will destroy the Sith". I think her shoto saber was kept by Rex.

    I loved the Dooku episodes!
I…liked the the Ahsoka episodes. Just a tiny but disappointed, mainly with the last one. If the Ahsoka novel didn’t exist, I would like the last episode a lot more. It’s basically the same story, and it’s meant to be, but shorter, things were changed, and they didn’t even include Ahsoka making her white sabers!

In episode 2 when Dooku is fighting Obi Wan and Ankain he says that Qui Gon would have probably switched sides seeing all the corruption within the Jedi Council and how it had lost its purpose and he has a point, Qui Gon was one of the wisest in all the Jedi and he wouldn't have switched side but he would have left the Jedi. Also I'm quite shocked that you didn't noticed episode 4 happened during the Phantom Menace.

It seems likely that Palpatine groomed both Anakin and Dooku.
And that the Jedi are too strict in some areas, and too lax in others, at this time. A product, no doubt, of their close ties to the Senate, and the compromises that had to be made just to act in an Official capacity, and not be hunted as vigilantes by the Republic.
As for Ahsoka, OUTSTANDING JEDI moment there at the end. That's a JEDI!
(Bail Organa or Buy an Armadillo . . . name please! -- nice moment.)
So glad they made this series!
Loved your reactions, as usual; hope you're having a good day.

Be careful to jump to conclusions when some one critiques you, that is the mark of mediocrity. Anakin broke the froth wall and forced you to eat your words XD. In all seriousness Anakin’s higher level of difficulty has merits as you saw I the last episode of the clone wars.

As much as I'm not minding Andor, how come we're getting 2 seasons of that show with 12 episodes per season at no less than a half hour in length for each episode, but this series, which I feel like a lot more people are excited about, has only 6 short episodes? I'm not complaining, but I feel like it needs more. Short episodes seem too fast paced.
Also, it really was chilling seeing Ahsoka's training, when that same training allowed her to escape being completely surrounded by clones during Order 66. The last 2 episodes of this show were just amazing.

Did no one watch Rebels....Ahsoka basically takes on inquisitors and beats them with ease. The moment I saw this inquisitor alone challenging Ahsoka, I knew she was going to beat him with ease...Even without her Lightsabers. Her ability to sense what other people plan to do is why she is so damn good but now we know that it was Anakin who helped train her senses to the absolute maximum.

    • @JessAnderson1988

@@user-xx6vy9ri8p ahsoka had three years of intense wartime experience where she fought in countless battles and as we see in this short, intensive training off the battle field as well. Anakin trains her hard because he cares about her and wants her to survive. Inquisitors are not trained like this because then they could be a threat to Vader and palpatine.
So like I said, an inquisitor should be no problem for her.
