    I don't think you can blame Ferrari for this. Based on the press kit the client was heavily involved during every step of the design process. That sounds like code that Centro Stile had to bend to the client's every whim and I'm sure said client gave them several million reasons to do so.

    I absolutely understand the logic behind the critique… but after seeing the redesign I’d say it was clear it’s focus was more rear-viewing than progressive/forward viewing… I think the “over designed” elements are no where near Lamborghini like (thankfully), but laying the seeds for future design instead… not all of it, but specifically how they treated the rear intake and the superimposition of shapes in the front fascia… it’s almost as if Ferrari is asking which way to point… I too, prefer the 296/Roma direction, but I also love that rear 3/4 view of this one-off, which is what would be my take away for future designs… lets see… it is all in fun, I wish my problem included having to look at this car in my garage every day, but as I say, let’s see what happens next! …another great video as always!

  • @fenrirslip
    @fenrirslip 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I honestly like the design of the BR20 and the redesign is also really cool as well. I've come to notice that when Ferrari does one off cars, the design is based on the customer's vision of what they want the car to look like and over the years a lot of these one offs have a rather aggressive design like the Ferrari P80/C. Yes I know that car is meant to be a track machine as it's not road legal, but take the AM Victor for example as it is a street legal/track monster, yet in my opinion I wouldn't immediately identify it as an AM. It has AM design cues but it doesn't have the typical AM design. My point is that more often than not, one off Ferraris are not always going to have a beautiful design since the customer contributes to the design in some way regardless of what the brand's design language consists of.

The Ferrari Omologata is a beautiful one off, it's not that Ferrari doesn't know how to design anymore, this design compared to the Omologata goes to show that different clients have DIFFERENT TASTES.
    You can't ask a client to change his idea just cause it doesn't look like the Roma or the 458.

    From the side view, the front (headlights) looks like AMG One.

    You fix it very well - so now you have to get it to the production Draghistan. :D

    This redesign is good. Original front end looks like some cheap Peugeot. Cheap in the sense of cheap that is implemented usually in cars trying to look like they are more expensive than their actual price bracket.

    Agree 100% on front end details make it look like Roz from Monsters Inc. Cannot be unseen now lol. But yes bigger problem is the proportions. It doesn't allow the hip curves space to follow. Almost like a person who may be 6' tall but whos legs are very short but have a very long torso. Instead bringing the rear wheel arch forward a bit and starting the hips/tail earlier will give it a more compact torso look that gives it a more elegant look.

    This one and F12 looks like Bart and Hugo! 😁 Roma lines couldn't be more exquisite..sooo beautiful..but the front grill looks a 5yo child design. Great video! Keep on 👍

    What happened to Ferrari was the decline of Pininfarina which was eventually sold to the Chinese and the abandonment of good taste.
    The Roma may look good but it was originally conceived as a Maserati (and it shows in quite few places), not a Ferrari.

    I have to respectfully disagree, I like it more than the Roma. However I do agree that they could town down all the styling elements, those are a bit too busy, and the redesign is a solid attempt at that. I feel like they’ve had a great design but should have iterated it a few more times before saying yeah that’s it

    For me BR20 looks more like a Ferrari than the Roma to be honest. The Roma looks like something from a completely different brand - just a cheap looking sports car design like that from a GTA, looks like a copy of Aston Martin DB11(which btw is far off classic Aston Martin elegance either). However you are totally right, they are lost at their design language as for now.

    What happened to Ferrari?...they stopped using Pininfarina. The F12 was the last car designed by them and ferrari has failed on nearly every design since (except the Roma, that one is gorgeous 😍). Also, the 458 will forever remain one of those most beautiful mid engine Ferraris ever made!

    Ferrari's designs are supposed to be almost paradoxical in nature. Their design is so simple and clean that you don't think about the design, but the fact that you don't have to think about the design is what make's you think about and appreciate the design, are you still following lol. It's like a well done German interior like that of an old 911, Timeless and forgettable, but for that very reason, incredibly memorable. Some of the modern designs Ferrari has put out have missed than mark imo.
