Let me tell you something that's sounds ABSURD, BUT TRUE. The Blob was inspired from a real life incident in 1952 called The Star Jelly Incident where two police officers discovered a meteor that landed on earth with a blue substance inside it. None of the police officers didn't know what the substance would do but it gave out a blue mist inside the meteor, and that was the creation of The Blob!!! 🤓
Allegedly the star jelly was mentioned during the MAJ-12 committee's discussion on 'foreign biology in terrestrial settings'. I have no idea what was said about it, but they supposedly mentioned it.
I always see people discussing a match between the Thing and the Blob, assuming that the Blob will always wins every match. But people always forget that the Thing may have assimilated (Earth like) extraterrestrial organisms with greater acid resistance in the past, not to mention that we naturally secrete acid along with the gastric juices in our stomachs. so I don't doubt that the Thing will be able to survive when exposed to the Blob. Being fire the only weakness of the Thing since there is no documented organism (in Earth) that is capable of passing through fire or swimming in magma without receiving damage (I clarify the difference between surviving at high temperatures and surviving to direct exposure to fire, or melted matter just to avoid confusion)
We haven't seen how the thing reacts to acid. The question is if the blob can absorb the thing without getting assimilated in the process. The most likely result is some nightmarish hybrid with the strength of both and weakness of neither
@@miketurik9404 i don’t know… if the thing got trapped by the blop, some how it would be able to scape as always, that would give it a change extract a part of the blop and adapt eventually after several encounters
