I can't. Get over. How just gosh darn amazing Tom is. His writing and editing has been mind blowing from the beginning. The whole SUSD crew has always been absolutely delightful but I'm really glad they have a Tom that can be let loose focusing on the production process.
This was excellent, thank you! And despite being 100% its own thing (keep sharing your unhingedness with us Tom, it's great!), it reminded me of the vibe of SUSD early seasons? Unsettling framing narrative surrounding little reviews? Hell yes!
I love it where the roles are reversed and Tom just immediately presses the airhorn, no warnings, no conditions. It's the perfect example of his personality where rules and logic are just silly little gimmicks for him to flaunt over

@@AlexRoberts , Hi! Thank you for the reply. That’s good to know. My son (college-age) and husband seem willing to give it a go. I love the art work. I see you’ve also created games based on The Dresden Files, one of my and my son’s favorite book series! Very cool. Thanks again.
For the Queen would be an amazing DnD session. Like "You are all accompanying the Queen on a months long trip, after 2 months of your journey you sit by the fire and think to yourself *game*" It'd be a refreshing session, jumpstart PC driven character dev, and lead into a hell of a combat.

I love that you finally covered For Sale. To me it is hands down the best gateway game ever and among my top ranked games ever due to the 'ohno!' 'oh my GOODNESS YESSS' moments that are present in every single game. I have gifted more copies of this game than awkward hugs to the inlaws (although those are easily avoided since the pandemic, so perhaps I need another analogy) and I love it to bits. I actually have specifically bought the travel edition in the US (not available in mainland Europe) just so I could carry a copy with me in most of my outdated coats that I keep wearing, just because of pocket size and familiar smell.
I think we needed one millisecond of Quinns screaming in a dungeon at the very end of the video, but otherwise a perfect video. Spots is the one I wound up wanting the most. For Sale is already in my collection, and I love it. Also, I dislike Magic the Gathering and Worldbreakers looks boring to me, but I LOVE Radlands. So what does it all mean? Something very, very significant, for sure. Absolutely.
Hi, I'm the designer of FtQ - I'm honestly so flattered you made that comparison because A Quiet Year, and Avery Alder's work in general, has been a huge inspiration to me!
I assume Tom does all of the video editing. I can imagine it is a thankless part of this job. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Tom. I love your little gags. Keep it up!
The unhinged energy of this video is awesome. For The Queen is the game that looks most interesting to me. I love storytelling games like this. Call To Adventure is a favorite rpg type board game of mine, and I really enjoy CYOA/RPG gamebooks.
@@JuniperHatesTwitterlikeHandles In the video, he compares it to Sh*thead or Palace (but aka Shed or Karma). It also seems really close to a drinking card game I used to love playing called Presidents and A**holes.
Great video! For Sale is amazing. Can't recommend it enough. No matter how bad you mess up the first stage, you can always ALWAYS still win the whole game due to the mechanics of the second. I actually find having a bunch of cards from the first stage just sort of "in the middle" is best.

I say it all the time, but adding Tom to the team is SU&SD's greatest ever masterstroke. The guy is pure comedy gold.
He genuinely is, he's quickly become the absolute star of the group
his video about Nisei / Netrunner is the reason I have 5 boosters and the original base set haha
I agree!
Definitely. That review of Twilight Inscription had me in stitches.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching enthusiastic dad and post-modern son on their 10-game game-adventure.
With a secret 11th adventure! That's quite good! Like ketchup mouthwash.
Tom's actually post-post modern
With Quins as the son? Got it.

Tom and his dad are having such a great time in this video!
I love Quinns being eternally bewildered by Tom's eldritch powers of editing
I half expected in the first cut to them being some place different for Quinns to ask how he got there.
He's done it to Matt before, so it serves him right.
