So much goodness in this game. My top 3: 3. Magnus losing because of a dubious opening. 2. Rapport's brilliancy followed by Nepo's face 1. Prawn to sea ships!
but to put himself in a hole that early, and then to make a couple more yikes moves not many moves later? it's like if peak wayne gretzky had tripped on his own skates and gone head-first into the net, three times on one game. lol
And bless him for being him as him does he makes us all happy cos he knows he tries and fails and we still gr8ful he is here what a gr8 time to fail! Next time he will have two Queens against and still that smile, Ya. Bless all the players fail to win.
So.. full disclosure; my absolute favorite player in modern chess is Praggnanandhaa! But 9 out 10 times; there's really only one of two ways to beat Magnus, he must blunder significantly or play dubious openings out of boredom 🙃
Rapport is one of my favourite players, in a similar mould to Dubov and Firouzja, and even Niemann on his day (boo, hiss). Perhaps no coincidence that Rapport and Dubov have both been recruited by Magnus in the past for his WC preparations, Magnus obviously sees something in their play that he feels he lacks himself.
His mother passed away recently. He is obviously still recovering. We should not create news from this misfortune. It is appropriate to give him time to recover and come back to his true strength.
@@avimir8805 Saying not to create news of such a big upset is ignorant. If he's too deep in his mourning to play well, he should take time off, its his fault if he gets destroyed, regardless of the justification. That's the point they made: he chose to be in this losing position.
I feel like Richard Rapport is an extremely underrated super GM; that man has uncorked some shit that left me speechless throughout his career. Also, I feel like Magnus castles later or not at all far more than anyone else; I'd love to see analysis on that, if it's true or not.
If it’s affecting his play he shouldn’t be playing in all fairness to his opposition. It’s like playing a game of football with a torn hamstring - that’s not the opponents fault.
Then by your logic he shouldn't have crushed Minh Le 20.5-3.5 in Speed Chess Championship. Richard Rapport played brilliantly in the game and Magnus played dubiously in the opening, that's it. You should give the credit where it is due.
@@OvereasyeggsoeeI see an understanding of simple analogies escapes you. Best not to call someone else a fool whilst putting your own idiocy on display for all to see.
Richard Rapport is in my oppinion one of the most creative players in modern Chess. However his skill varies strongly depending on his mood during the day. I watched quite a few of his tournamebts online since the Superbet Romania 2023. On a good day he could win a title match against every top player, but on a bad day he tends to blunder alot. If he gets more consistent, i think he has the potential to become champion someday
@7:40 white's queen is on f2 in that clip, not f3... position looks similar but it's different. I've seen this "reaction" in a video showing Magnus playing against a 12-year-old Indian player (I think)
the issue with e5 is NOT the king nonsense you said, the issue is the permanent d pawn isolani black gets when he is not even that ahead in development. a permanent weakness for only slight activity is rarely a good idea, with white you can sometimes get away with it because in those lines you get fast piece activity to land the isolani, with black its dangerous.
When are we going to see the Messi of Chessi abusing Magnesium Carlenium? We watched Hikaru get spanked twice in a row. Would love to see Kramnik vs Lil Messi. hahahah And Magnuts, too. Can't wait for those.
