Superbly detailed and narrated description of the process - it has transformed my V6 back into the machine I remember being so impressed by a few years ago. Oh, and delighted that you included the re-assembly steps too - so often I read or hear " assembly is "simply" the reverse of the disassembly steps" but it never is! Many thanks.
I just wanted to say thank you for putting this excellent tutorial together - clear, easy to follow and comprehensive. It saved me a great deal effort - much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this video! I’ve watched many trying to get my Dyson cleaned and none went as in depth as this one! Super simple to follow and amazing how much nasty stuff is missed when you just wash the filters and bin. Thank you!!!
I totally dismantled, cleaned and - more importantly - put back together a really filthy V6 from work (that was pulsing) and it works beautifully now!! Thank you for such a great video!
What a pleasure to find your step by step tutorial on the dismantling and reassembly of the Dyson v6 Handheld vacuum cleaner. It is one of the most informative, clear and concise video I have seen in a long time. Thank you for your time and effort in formulating a 5 star video.
Very good video. side note: I don't think any of your viewers would mind if you included a commercial (amazon?) link for V6 filters, replacement batteries, Torx screwdriver, etc. This way you could be additionally rewarded for your fine efforts.
This video was extremely helpful. I was able to clean my unit thoroughly and it works better and smells better. I highly recommend that you watch this if you want to clean your DC62! One thing that I might add is to be careful with the contacts on the battery and on the unit itself. I had a previous unit that I ruined because I wasn’t cautious enough. The poster explained the need to be careful but I just want to emphasize how important it is. Thank you for your video!
Excellent, detailed video of dismantling and reassembling my Dyson V6. Its surprising how clogged up inside it gets.Unfortunately it looks like I need a another new battery. Thanks
Thanks for the video. Every step of dis- assembly and assembly are shown explicitly! I have restored my Dyson V6 vaccum cleaner. The vide is quite a professional! Thanks again.
This is an excellent video and very easy to follow. My Dyson V6 is now as clean as it was new and working perfectly! The clumps of compacted dust I was able to remove by disassembling the hoover were unbelievable! And obviously the reason for it not working. Would highly recommend. Thank you.
very nice video bro😊for the first during years,i cleaned my old dyson 62 today🎉 without watch your video it was mission impossible 😅tks very much.❤🥳💯🙇♂️
You can also take the motor apart by very gently, sliding it out the back after Yoon twisting the wires. You can clean the individual turban thins and inner assembly with a Q-tip.
Great explanation. I've had mine (sv3) for almost 10 years now. Unfortunately the battery isn't good anymore, but it was a nice excuse to clean it completely.
Merci1000 fois pour votre vidéo, je suis arrivée à démonter et remonter le du son V6 mais il ne marche toujours pas. Il s’allume et s’éteint alors que j’ai changé la batterie et que j’ai nettoyé tous les filtres.
This is such a wonderfully thorough video of how to clean the V6, thank you. Please can I just post mine to you, as I have a feeling it's not going to look the same when I try and pit it back together :P
can the grey nozzle part be seperated from the dust bin ? the thing at 6:45 i found one screw.. but there seems to be another screw behind the electrical contacts (?)
10:10 *Now there's a real pro. UNscrew first so you feel the click where the screw goes into the existing threads. That way you don't create **_new_** threads, making the whole thing weaker.*
This tutorial is definitely my favorite!! Easy and informative. Quick question, it might sound dumb but can I use 91% isopropyl alcohol, or should I buy the 99% to not risk it?!!
It's not possible to buy, as far as I'm aware. You could make your own by buying a generic foam filter and cutting it to fit, or you can buy a replacement rear motor cover on Amazon that allows you to use replaceable HEPA filters like the Dyson V7/V8.
Dirty contacts or debris preventing the brush bar from rotating. I doubt it's the motor, as Dyson motors are designed to trip out before any damage is done.
Excellent. Thank you so much for this. I’ve watched a number of other tutorials to do the clean, and to replace a couple of parts and yours is by far the best. Easy to see everything clearly, on screen clarification re parts and concise instructions and explanations. Fabulous. Two thoughts - definitely agree with the previous comment about you adding affiliate links to your description. I for one need torx t8 screwdriver/bits (totally new to me so I appreciated the spelling of torx 😊) I need to replace the bin lid cover which you didn’t mention - which meant I had to hunt for it, and nobody else’s explanation seemed as clear as yours would have been 🤔😎 Thanks again. I appreciate your time and expertise.

The best disassembly (except the motor), cleaning and re-assembly of the Dyson V6.

Thank you ! Made taking apart and fixing much easier.
Thanks. This was well thought out and presented.
Hi, I can't take out my 5 torx t8 screws that you take out at 2min in. They is so much dirt build up. What can I do to get them out?
Merci1000 fois pour votre vidéo, je suis arrivée à démonter et remonter le du son V6 mais il ne marche toujours pas. Il s’allume et s’éteint alors que j’ai changé la batterie et que j’ai nettoyé tous les filtres.
Awesome video. Thanks for making it.
Great job!

what torx screwdriver do I need to get as I have a V6 animal Dyson. cheers
can the grey nozzle part be seperated from the dust bin ? the thing at 6:45 i found one screw.. but there seems to be another screw behind the electrical contacts (?)
Just perfect!
My dust bin detaches from its housing when I attempt to hoover. What is the cure?
Perfect tutorial thank you :)

Excellent!! Thank you!
how does the trigger spring go in? Mine fell out!
Brilliant!
This tutorial is definitely my favorite!! Easy and informative. Quick question, it might sound dumb but can I use 91% isopropyl alcohol, or should I buy the 99% to not risk it?!!
I think 91% should be ok.
thank you, really good tutorial :)
You have to try out some of the audio mods. I recommend James May's Cheesy Platform Gun
Does anyone know where to find instruction on how to take apart the bin for deep cleaning.
Tebrikler mükemmel anlatım. Başarılarının devamını dilerim.
Perfection
Hey OP what plastic polishing paste do you use?
It's polishing paste from the middle aisle at Lidl. Parkside brand.
Thanks!
Where can I buy replacement foam filter inside the motor cover?
It's not possible to buy, as far as I'm aware. You could make your own by buying a generic foam filter and cutting it to fit, or you can buy a replacement rear motor cover on Amazon that allows you to use replaceable HEPA filters like the Dyson V7/V8.
Why can't I get power to the head so it spends the head?
Dirty contacts or debris preventing the brush bar from rotating. I doubt it's the motor, as Dyson motors are designed to trip out before any damage is done.
