  • This video will show you how to strip or tear down your Dyson v6 handheld vacuum cleaner. I show you how to remove all items correctly, which screws to undo, which clips to unclip and even cleaning the filters in the main motor head.
    Dyson's handheld is relatively easy to service and repair if you know how to disassemble the vacuum cleaner this cordless v6 is a great back up cleaner but can sometimes fail.
    This video will show you how to repair the Dyson v6, how to strip it down and fix.

    Great instructions. My V6 stopped working, new battery still didn't work. Tore it down using your brilliant instructions. Fan didn't have anything in there but moved it about and voila it worked. Feel like I didn't do anything specific other than tear it down and check each component I put back one by one still worked. Thank you

    Your the man. Did all the normal strip clean and back together that I had done before multiple times before including popping rear cover of motor to check the coarse and fine filter sponges there. (Max fill line means max fill but some people do not get that!).
    Checked my battery (it has been replaced with slightly bigger one after old one packed up) with voltmeter and it was good.
    As soon as you triggered it you got flash code five on the power change button led.
    I had forgot front access. Long nose pliers on the lock ring and a bit of jiggers pokery (half came undone a few times, then when half undone pulled lock ring back towards myself and eventually released about fourth attempt and front end off. Moved motor, it has some strong magnets in that baby, moved it it a max of a turn, tried it again and flash codes changed a bit and second operation of trigger it flew into life. Perhaps it has position sensor perhaps a bit stuck, it did not feel any looser after it started to run and stopped and checked but it runs. Thanks for pointer just done a full battery run with it and suction is as good as ever. They do clean well but need looking looking after, do not go past max.

    your video gave me the guts to try and move the seized motor, and reading it on a fix it website. I have a V6 max, changed the battery, the crown, washed the filter, nothing. You physically have to spin the motor, the inside of the grey thing, with the battery detached. I stuck a small screwdriver and spun it clockwise, no go, spun it counter clockwise and the thing worked even stronger than before. I read where the motor seizes so you have to move it manually to get it to work again.

      There is obviously the bowl to clean then the filter sock in the top you can take that into two pieces little plastic wedges at top edge use pen knife carefully to eases them out. Had blockages in there. Plastic shroud with screen can be unclipped and cleaned in there. The motor has two filter in the back end. Little bit more difficult to pry that apart. One screw and need to pry gently and pop it apart. D59 version. The socks need replacing every now and then.

    • @d3lta1
      @d3lta1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anthonywilson4873 thanks for the tips. Have stripped all that out as well and split the bowl. In the end I recharged the battery again and pulsing stopped. I think in the end I cleared the blockage but had drained the battery during testing and cleaning. All good now. Thanks.

    Thanks for the video, very informative. I have just been asked to have a look at one, the red light of death. It flashes red even when it is removed from the body and charging doesn't seem to work as it has actually dropped rather than increased, would you say a dead battery? Is it worth stripping the battery to check for broken wires? Your help is much appreciated. Oh, is the motor, a stepping motor, as, when I check the rotaion, it only moves in increments.

    I have the SV09 it has the screws for disassembly like this one. I'm wondering what battery pack to get. The one for V6 or V7? .. Great video
