Thank you ! I cleaned my Dyson inside and out! I followed every step. Female 58. I did it. If I can do it anyone can do it. I skipped the unscrewing of screws. Did understand how that endeavor would need cleaning.
    THANK YOU 🎉 ❤❤❤

Much appreciated mate. You take it to the next level and I for one, am most grateful! Most people are so timid about really doing everything together fullest! You saved me more times than I can count by showing exit and reentry of parts! Thank you 10xs over from the states!

Thanks for the details. My "beater bar" would operate intermittently and I reasoned that I was making a poor contact somewhere. I was able to remove the motor head and buff up the contacts with steel wool. I also made sure to remove any hairs or debris from the area so I would be sure I was making good contact. Working much better now. Your disassembly instructions are superb.

Thanks for your very detailed video with appropriate commentary.
    Your demonstration was excellent.
I especially like the way you went thought the process of assembling the vacuum cleaner head after dismantling it. May videos just show you how to take the product part and then say , “to assemble, just reverse the process”.
I followed your instructions and gave my vacuum a good clean with water and using Chemical Guys Nonsense cleaner using a boars hair brush. It came out like brand new.
Your video is much appreciated. Thanks from New Zealand.

Wanted to say thank you. I have a V6 I was changing the battery on, then I learned about the hepa filter mod, added the Bros filter and motor housing adapter, then I noticed how dirty inside and didn’t see how to disassemble the main chassis and your video was so spot on for both disassemble and reassembly. Can’t say thank you enough! Well done, favorite and best vacuum I’ve ever owned. Also have a v7 I also modded with Hepa filter and longer runtime battery. Next is the Dewalt 20v max battery adapter for hot swap batteries!

Thanks for this. It was a great help. 👍Because Torx screws don't require any downward pressure, I found that if you pull the magnetic bit until it's just a mm or two near the end of the screwdriver and wrap one circumference of insulating tape around it, the bit is easily long enough to remove the 4 screws. Mine came out very easily and my Dyson was caked in dirt and dust. 🙈😁 I was tempted to remove the nozzle from the clear dust cylinder too after seeing one screw and removing it. I tried to pry the sides of the nozzle off and it clicked nicely but it was then that I noticed another screw was inside it. I guessed that the two pin electrical connector would have to come out first to get to it though and I didn't think it was worth maybe breaking it. 🤔 Thanks again for this very useful video. 👍👍👍

Thank you for your detailed vid, I’ve just done this a second time, first time the foam in motor part went into small pieces, had no money at time to fix, so searched many vids, watched hundreds of times from 2 people, then took the ‘it’s now or never’ it was hard, I took pics of every step, that motor head I nearly made a hole in plastic, I love my Dyson so I nearly cried & yes it’s hard to get it back together, I even had to search for similar foam & make gasket, it worked & ive been using for 2 years now, wish your vid was out at the time, your way of taking that funnel part off in one piece from motor head/handle is easier, there is another black gasket in the area where the red gasket is too, for anyone who does a thorough clean. Anyway waiting for parts to dry, thanks again, I was so worried about breaking things, it feels good to know I can do it, this time it was easier cheers🙂

Extremely helpful. I didn't use chopsticks but I managed to squeeze the plastic ring to get the two halves apart using an electrical screwdriver and the point of a big wood drill bit, and used the latter to undo the screws to change the battery.

Just took it 99 percent apart (didn't do the unscrewing bit because I don't have a screwdriver) but I'm thrilled with how much cleaner it is now and once it's all dry (rinsed the filter and basket with cool water) I'll be putting it back together.

Many thanks for this most detailed video, most appreciated.
Our D58 certainly benefits from being cleaner.........it works :)
However removing the back of the unit, to expose the motor, is most certainly not easy at all. I have the same tools as shown but it must be about persevering hard with getting that first opening to inset one of those triangular shaped spreaders into the gap. totally failed so far.
Apart from checking and cleaning that filter at the back I also wanted to fit a digital battery gauge to the outside connected to the wires inside the unit, the wires would go through the air gaps on the outside of the rear cover.
Perhaps one day I'll manage it.............or move on to another project, lol.
FWIW any type of filter , thinking of the rear sponge one, should not be so difficult to gain access to.

It would have been nicer to pull apart a dusty dirty one to show how the dust builds up inside. There is a really easy way to clean these without pulling them apart and it simply involves some fast moving air from a blower. The biggest enemy to these Dysons is if they suck up water. Then that kicks off a world of pain

@@OpenMeUpTec people pay a lot of money for Dyson stuff, thinking they are paying for quality, but after seeing so many people selling broken Dysons I wanted to open it to understand what is under the hood. IMO it has a very simple design but it’s not better than Shark. One thing I don’t understand in this design is the direction the dust goes and sits on the controller board. Why don’t they protect this?

Our DC58, years of working fine. Has now got to the point where it will; seem to fully charge but within seconds of using it show to be flat. Has anyone had experience of using a third party battery..? The originals are kinda expensive.
Also does anyone know how to test the original battery we still have, in terms of its ability to hold the charge and what is in it, might help to diagnose it as being faulty..?

      @@OpenMeUpTec Thanks.
I can't link you but there is a Firstpower 21.6v battery that is well rated, in a test shown in another YT vid. They can be bought from Amazon.
The other vid....The best replacement V6 battery for Dyson........

I sucked up a small amount of fine flour dust with my Dyson V8.
Now the suction sound is different, like it's semi-choking. And it gets a LOT warmer quickly. The motor itself sounds a bit weird.
I've cleaned the filter and all the obvious places to clean out, but I haven't done what's shown in this video.
Do you think that could make a difference, or is there likely fine dust in the motor itself and the vacuum being beyond repair?
Checked the manual, it says only to suck up "a very small amount of flour", which is kind of arbitrary in a sense.

I have a lot of Dyson vacs and a lot of Sharks… Shark is much easier to take apart and put together! No video required. Dyson acts like vacuums don’t need to be deeply cleaned regularly.

To remove the purple filter that you do first in the video, hold the bottom and twist the top, as you would do to unscrew a beverage/beer bottle, and pull, it will come off w/out prying.

    • @OpenMeUpTec
      @OpenMeUpTec  2 ปีที่แล้ว

yes and no. the reason for prying is that it will always work and work for everyone. your method is not gurantee to work all the time and depending who the person is. they might not be able to do it

Instead of long nose pliers, two screwdrivers will release the lugs. You just need an extra pair of hands to hold it still.
