The combination of some of the issues people were having with the popular Level Mate Pro leveling system, along with its ridiculous price tag of $150 (at the time) I just continued to use the bubble level. Here's a tip. Get your RV level with the slides out using a level the traditional way, but don't put your stabilizers down. Now put your slides in. Doing this you'll now be out of level, but that's what you want. Use that as your "level" on the Beech Lane or LevelMate Pro. So now when you are backing in on leveling blocks or ramps you'll be level to the app, when you put your slides out you'll be truly level side to side. Then level front to back and drop the stabilizers.
Hey bud, I thought about this concept in depth before making this video and in theory it makes sense. There are 2 possible issues though… when you park, your leveling to where the rig will be level when the slides are open, which means you may not be level when the slides are closed. The issue with that is most manufacturers don’t want you to open slides unless you’re level. The other issue is they also tell you to stabilize before opening slides. But I’m with you on the idea… the problem comes into play though that you’re opening slides while unlevel.
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS you're barely unlevel though. It's only an inch or so that the trailer moves when opening the slides. Either way, if you open your slides when the trailer is level it will no longer be level. Leverage is going to lift the opposite side. Who knows. I've been doing it this way for a couple years now, no issues, knock on wood. Though I do have only rack and pinion slides which are bit more beefy.
I’m with you bud, it isn’t that much off with the slide in at all, however it is a manufacturer stipulation, and I’d lose massive credibility telling 110,000 rvers to level with the slides out, even if at the end of the day it didn’t cause damage. There are sites too don’t forget that are massively unlevel front to back that I wouldn’t feel comfortable moving the tongue jack with the slides out. However, I like your line of thinking, I thought about it when creating this video but I couldn’t figure out a way to bypass the manufacturers requirements. 🍻

We've been told time and again don't move your RV around with the slides out. Seems like the possible mechanism damage to the slide out would be worse than being a 10th of an inch off level.

Leveling has been a workout because I have to run back and forth into the rig and check the bubble level, back out to keep an eye on how much more we need to roll up and down on our Beech Lane ramp, to the cab of the truck to talk to hubs, etc. Craziness! This sounds like the perfect solution!

Just wanted to say thanks so much for the video!!! I have used a Level Mate Pro for a few years, and this one is GREAT because it turns on with the app. On mine, you have to stop where you're going to park, get out of the truck and turn it on inside the trailer then level the trailer. The Beech Lane is awesome!

I really like the way you do the pros and cons on the device. the double back tape suggestion is a very good idea. This device will save me a lot of debating with my wife on how level the trailer is. I usually re-level it when she is out for a walk. I do not like sleeping head down or feel like I am going to roll off the bed. LOL

RVTT GIVEAWAYI like the 12v power idea. I will purchase next spring unless I get lucky. We're retired now and bought a new wildwood 24rlxl camper. Just trying to add asseries for the camper. On a budget since retired so trying to keep the costs down and get what we only need. This device seems a need. Lol did buy the roll up levelers that you mention in your other video.will make life and setting up easier. Thanks for the recommendations. This is our 2nd camper in 3 yrs so still learning the tips and tricks .lol Your videos are to the point and enjoy them. I go to your videos when I need more info and recommendations. I use a large bubble level made by Camco attached to the front of the trailer that I can see from the driver seat for side to side leveling and it has a front to back level that you can see from the hitch jack and no batteries. There are too many battery operated gadgets in my opinion. But I see from other comments, it's a good solution for some. I enjoy your videos.

We have a little 18 foot Jayco and just use is for occasional (6 or 8 per year) trips, so a fancy leveling system isn't necessary, but this one certainly has it's appeal... might need to rethink it. Thanks for all your info.
