Hello Kim, I am glad you came home safely. Just relax and refresh yourself. I will pay you sick leave till Sunday. Your Ray Band your hair and not forgetting your smile, and your good looks mesmerize me. Take care.
The Brick Lane area has a fascinating history. It used to be home to a large Jewish community and before that, Huguenots (French Protestants). There's a Huguenot church in the area as well as a synagogue. London is essentially a market town and wandering around the markets can be good fun. The area south of the Thames is worth exploring; there aren't quite so many tourists but there are some fascinating sights such as the Scandinavian seamen's missions in Rotherhithe.
You really did your research. The Beer Mile under the railway arches is generally off the tourist map and is frequented by mostly locals. Though I guess this is changing.
Your posts are infectious. As a Londoner, I love seeing how you’re exploring more than just the usual places. It looks like you’re having a brilliant holiday.
@@xandra7986 I absolutely love hearing this! Thank you so much! I hope I’m making the Londoners proud. ❤️ We had the most amazing time and I’m already thinking about when I can return. I do like the fact that you go to non-tourist areas. It helps that I am guessing that food prices are cheaper there as well, as they serve locals. When you return home you can dispel the myth that British food is bland or terrible.
Ah, the days of everyone going down to Brick Lane for a 'bindi' - and seeing which restaurant would include the extras you want! Happy days.. the market, and the one at Borough, are great for 'grazing' and not spending any money on food! I have always been told that England is cold and rainy. I have been to London twice now, once in June and once in October. It was fabulous weather both times. ❤️ I personally think London has perfect weather.
@@ArizonaKCIt hardly ever gets cold in London, even in 'winter' which we really get. England doesn't really have different weather to the rest of northern Europe. Not to any extent. I spent a lot of time in Northern Germany and it's the same weather there, except its colder in winter.

Great video KC. Pizza looked delicious. Glad you guys visited places outside of the city area like Brick Lane and Bermondsey. The city itself is fantastic, but mainly for tourists. The places you visit outside of the city and south of the River Thames really is "true London." And as you can see Kim, there really are lots of fantastic places outside of the city centre and much cheaper too.
I love your videos! Thank you for sharing your trip. I went to London for the first time last year and we are planning a return trip. You have given me so many new ideas for my to-do list! Thank you!
Good Morning Kim, the food was delicious. This time my stay in Koh Samui wasn't the best. For breakfast there was a dish of sausages, boiled cabbage and rice. I know I will not be going there again. Please do not cut your hair. I am glad you had a great holiday. I am going to post some cards this morning. I thought it would be better to receive them early than late.
Hi Victor! Yes I enjoyed the food very much! (I had great food in Thailand, too.) I’m home now and I always go through a 24-48 hour depression upon returning from a wonderful trip. Lol.
Aldgate of Course Middlesex Street becomes Petticoat Lane Market on Sundays, but the weekday markets in that area are still (were at least) just as good. My favourite markets though are Roman Road Market, and Mile End Road both further east going over toward Bow. Not the variety of food but just local shopping at decent prices.
Yes, the Roman Road shops AND the Market is for 'locals' and rarely gets too many 'tourists'... It's where to go to buy/stock up on everyday food to cook yourself or groceries. Everything is much cheaper and the cafes are what Brits may refer to as 'greasy spoons' _(that builders, contractors, tradespeople and similar go to eat)._ You go there for a 'full English' breakfast, 'pie and mash' or the daily 'home-cooked specials' board... It has the discount stores _(US - Dollar stores),_ chemists _(US - Pharmacy),_ charity shops _(US - Goodwill/thrift shops),_ fruit & veg shops and small 'Cash & Carry shops'. When the 'market' is open, various 'stalls' sell clothes, handbags, toiletries, homewares and street food etc.... NOTE: The MARKET with STALLS all along the LONG street, is ONLY there THREE DAYS a WEEK _(10am to 2.00/3.30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays)._
When I said, I will not be going there again. I meant at that resort. Next holiday Baan Fah. I was very impressed when I saw the resort this time., to know that you are already a famous celebrity
You don't really need to be on a tour to do that. Just look up the spots yourself and do it. It's better to do it yourself rather than being part of a tour, especially if you are informed. I guess tours are better for those who know little or nothing about the subject and they can learn things.
I am glad everything was okay. Love today I sent you a card. For Christmas and you know what. All 3 of the ecards I sent to you, came back. I was very disappointed. Next time I will send you an email.
Brick Lane used to be a SLUM area. In the last few decades, because of its close proximity to the City of London, it has become very affulent. Houses, that were considered slums, are now worth a fortune. I'm 74 years old and used to visit Brick Lane market as a child.
@@ArizonaKC Sorry, moved out of the area decades ago (50+ years). Brick lane was still a slum area. I lived in an area called Bethnal Green (1½ miles away). The reason for going to Brick Lane was for the Sunday morning market (known locally as Club Row). The market stalls were NOT selling high end products. These were different times, socially and economically.
I did read a bit about it and found it fascinating that it’s called Brick Lane due to it being a place where brick was manufactured. And how in the early 1900s there were many settlers from Bangladesh who brought over the spices and dishes that make curry houses so popular in the area today.
To know that you are a famous celebrity there. With your recommendation. I will book a suite there too. I do not know what happened. Speaking about that name of the coffee shop. I can tell you sincerely that the owner would be approached here, and kindly asked to change the name. There was a young boy that had returned from Thailand, and had something printed on his T- Shirt. He was approached by the police and asked to remove his T- Shirt and not to wear it again. Respect for your fellow man and respect for women could go along way.
