N9, when the time comes, maybe call your Moon outpost Erikson? I know its not very american, but its named after the first european to set foot on the americas, Leif Erikson, a danish explorer. He did put a settlement there, specifically Newfoundland, in modern day Canada. Colombus is overused, so this could be a nice alternative, I think.

@@N9GamingOfficial the B variant is the trainer variant and featured a second cockpit place behind and above the main cockpit, the SR-71A was the main production aircraft and had the RSO seated behind the pilot in a tandem arrangement.

Useing the dinosaur docking bar on the station you can probably reuse the station as sort of a U.S almaz station by adding some new military modules to the station or something like that (love the videos btw)
The K-4 could become a test article for docking future vehicles, if a new docking adapter system is done, just send over an adapter beforehand. Or you could test some dedicated deorbiting vehicle that isn't a one off, it could become useful later on when lore wise you have a higher risk of Kessler syndrome. Or it could become a secret refueling depot in the future :D
There was a proposed variation of Skylab to use the S-4b as a station like irl, but keep the S-2 attached as a wet workshop, i think this would be a wonderful station for you to make, imagine the propaganda value in such an enormous station! Plus it could act as a fuel depot!

Maybe use the outpost as a test-bed for orbital repair and modular construction. Doesn't have to be crewed. but would be nice to demonstrate those two important technical feats on something already in orbit (maybe you could add a few useful "weather monitoring" components too if you catch my drift 😝, maybe even a telescope to keep tabs on interplanetary affairs, monitor changes in orbit and such.).
The KX-4 is seems quite light? Empty S-1 and a crew module, perhaps a Katurn V could launch to propel it out to lunar orbit? Would likely be a cheaper way to get the first Lunar station, not having to pay for the crew rated price multiplier on the Katurn, and would match the soviet multi-launch mission capabilities!

Was life support an issue with the rover? I find they can only handle about 2 hours in a suit before something starts going wrong. Did you have some extra O2 onboard that they could swap out of inventory maybe?

Instead of launching a crewed core module, it could be used as a habitat for the construction crew, who will help with assembly of the truss etc. All the Space Station Freedom concepts have some sort of big truss. Then dispose of KX-2 later. Alternatively, now it’s getting dated, maybe allow the Soviets to visit as a low risk gesture of goodwill? Personally though, I’m more interested in KX-5 etc. On a Katurn 5 booster, could one be placed in Lunar orbit?

Odd how Making History does that! We're putting together a new install for 1.12.3, Beardy seems convinced the bug won't be happening anymore but at least I know exactly what to do if it does happen again anyway. And yeah we've got Nuclear engines in game that will be explored at some point ;)

Also i have a suggestion: theres a mod that adds UFOs. put one on Pluto as an artifact. As rules you cant replicate it or change the superstructure. Getting it would be the phase 3 race, the first to get crew there gets a free return.
Once the ESA develops a manned program, you could lease them the KX-4 Station.

What mod is KR-71's landing gear from? I really like doing x-planes/jet's, but the basic gear that RP-1 has are not the best.

Yeah it just takes a lot of deltaV to push that far, reducing payload mass to the bare necessities is the best way of accomplishing it
